I'm playing Star Citizen and Death Stranding on my PC. Loving the former and starting to get mixed feelings about the latter. I'm in Chapter 6 and the gameplay is starting to wear me out.
If you go in expecting Call of Shooty Bangs then yeah, it's disappointing. I suppose that's why consoles never got ARMA 3. It's a sim so the realism and shooting mechanics are the stars of the show. I have already made my voice heard on this one- fantastic milisim where cooperation and tactical gameplay pays off.
Really looking forward to it. Star Citizen, No Man's Sky didn't do it for me. Elite Dangerous seems bug-riddled and grindy. To me, rhe best game set in space so far has been The Outer Worlds. All it was missing was actually being able to fly your ship. Starfield looks set to fulfill that.
Aaaaand that's all folks! MS should just drop it and look elsewhere. Maybe try to buy Embracer or something. Jimbo has to be commended for his efforts as he got what he wanted. Let's see if Phil keeps praising Sony exclusives after this.
@Spaceman-Spiff No campaign, but you can play individual maps with bots. Unfortunately, all these bots are good for is practice. They aren't very smart.
Play Insurgency! Then, forget about CoD. I bought it for PC, PS and Xbox. Put in about 300 hours in total. When it comes to realism, only ARMA comes close (on PC anyway).
I wish he was as adamant that Xbox will release those first party games soon. Instead, all we get is silence. The world doesn't end with Call of Duty FFS.
@Dezzy70 This. It's kind of sad, actually. This gen Sony has commited enough blunders for Xbox to make up a lot of ground. However, it's mostly been Phil congratulating the competition on launching a banger after banger with little to cheer for on the Xbox side of things. On the positive side: Series X is the best console I've ever used design-wise. Features like quick resume and smart delivery, along with auto HDR and fps boost are fantastic. But, no first party games. Yes, I know about development cycles etc but when you're launching a console you have to bring more than hardware. I moved to PC and don't see myself coming back. Still, I'm keeping my fingers crossed for Xbox and those bangers in 2023. Sony deserves worthy competition.
Yup, I will play God of War Ragnarok as soon as it comes to PC. For now I'm playing Forza Horizon 4 and Death Stranding and it's an incredible combo. Fun fact: I sold my PS5 within hours of making it available for sale, while it took 5 days to sell my XSX and I had to lower the asking price due to low demand. Pretty much tells the whole story. I'm still cheering for Xbox to finally release those bangers in 2023, but I will be buying them alongside Playstation 'exclusives' on PC.
@Dezzy70
Look Dezzy, Phil has heard you finally! Lol. I also see you are gravitating towards the Switch a lot these days. Great console with great games. I have one but my wife and daughter use it most of the time. I took SplooshDmg advice and switched to PC last week and couldn't be happier. Oh and while I sold my PS5 in a matter of hours, I haven't been able to sell my XSX for 3 days now. Few people show interest and the money I'm being offered is indicative of how low the demand has fallen. As you said- no games, no sales. Luckily, whatever comes out on whichever platform, I'm covered haha
I'm playing a game called waiting for my PC to arrive this week. Guess this has been a long time coming as I was pondering getting a PC before I jumped back to Xbox a few months ago. Been nice exchanging opinions with you guys. Have a good weekend and see you all somewhere on the internet maybe. Cheers
I'd play The Forgotten City but I hate games based on loops. Tried Alan Wake's American Nightmare and it's basically a shooter with some mild horror elements. Quite the departure from Alan Wake, unfortunately.
It's kind of sad how little I care about these sales since I've subbed to Game Pass. The only games I ever buy these days are 360 games I missed and some new titles that will either never be on GP or in a distant future.
Gonna finish Trek to Yomi tonight so I can get on this tomorrow. 30 fps sucks, but at least it seems to run better on XSX than PS5 (if reviews can be trusted). I'm happy for Asobo, great to see this game get such high praise.
To me, 60 fps should be the target, but many games play well at 30 fps if it's stable. I guess I'm just more tolerant as I grew up playing games at 15 fps sometimes on a crappy PC and still enjoyed just being able to play them ๐
Love me some horror games. With that said, this is my top 5:
1. Condemned 1/2
2. FEAR 1/2
3. Dead Space 1/2
4. SOMA
5. Resident Evil 7
Honorable mentions (not necessarily on Xbox): Penumbra trilogy, Vampire: Bloodlines, Doom 3, Until Dawn, Clive Barker's Undying, Alice Madness Returns.
Extra honorable mention: Insurgency Sandstorm, when you're the last man standing, enemy artillery is bombing the hell out of the objective, you can hear the enemy close by and you're down to a few bullets...
@Kezelpaso Thank you for encouraging me to give it a go ๐ Thief is one of my favourite franchises, but I skipped the latest one when it launched due to middling reviews. Don't know what those reviewers had against it, really. I decided to dust off my old gaming laptop (2GB VRAM) just to replay the original trilogy. Might also replay FEAR1 while I'm at it, too. As for the sequel, I pray that Embracer lets it happen, but I'm not holding my breath.
Finished Thief (2014). Loved everything about it and a big shoutout to Pure Xbox staff for the recommendation. The ending clearly suggested there might be a sequel but since the game flopped I guess I can only hope that Embracer will set Garret loose on the city again. This weekend I'm playing Trek to Yomi. I've already completed the prologue and like the game a lot. A bit of Forza Horizon 4 and Insurgency Sandstorm on the side as well. Have a good weekend everyone!
@InterceptorAlpha My first Elite v2 developed left analog drift 6 months in. Granted, I bought one slightly used, but still. Now I've got a brand new Elite Series 2 Core and I like it a lot. Fingers crossed it will last longer than the previous one.
Whether true or not, Microsoft is not a charity. They wouldn't be investing in Game Pass if it wasn't worthwhile and profitable (in the short or long run). Critics will question this in any way they can, no doubt. I'm convinced I made a good decision by subbing to GPU.
Bigger =/= better. I'm hyped about it, as we all are, but I'm keeping my expectations in check. The prolonged silence around it is either a good sign or a bad one.
Guess I'll be that guy: I didn't find Ghost of Tsushima all that enjoyable. Felt like Assassin's Creed Japan, only somewhat better. It bored me to tears and I deleted it after 10-15 hours of play. Then again I'm sick and tired of open world games a'la Ubisoft so that could be a factor in my feelings towards it.
Main:Thief (2014)- I'm in the 4th chapter and loving it!
On the side: NBA 2K23 (MJ Challenge, only just defeated Georgetown)
Insurgency Sandstorm- online co-op matches against AI.
Have a good weekend guys and gals!
The only ones I have bought so far are Hellblade and State of Mind. I'm with the rest of the guys. If it's on GP I won't buy it most of the time. That's why I'm paying for it right?
Guess I'm redownloading FH5 then ๐ Don't know when I'll play it, though. Not enough hours in the day ๐ Also, love the addition of A Moment Apart but was hoping for more FH4 tracks. The OST for FH4 is by far my favourite one.
@Tintin
I second that. FH4 is my favourite entry in this series and FH5 didn't hold my attention as long as the previous game.
Sigh. And people wonder why more and more people are joining #TeamCheapSkate and just playing whatever's available on Game Pass. I guess these publishers are doing what Apple has been doing with the iPhone: testing how much a customer is willing to pay for more of the same.
Wow! Such a neat feature. It's not like football games dating back to 2010s had it... Wake me up when the team roster is complete and Master League is available. In the meantime I'm considering going back to PES2021.
I have expressed my feelings on this topic a number of times already so I'll just say this: Jimbo didn't get his wish, but at least threw a snowball at MS. Before ActiBlizz games hit Game Pass it'll be summer 2023. Oh well, can't wait for this to be over so we can actually focus on gaming rather than this TMZ drama.
@TheGrimOne Thanks mate! I actually have very fond memories of playing the original Hot Pursuit (1999 if I remember correctly, Jesus I'm old). I'll give them a whirl ๐
Looks fresh, that much can be said. Can anyone recommend any Need for Speed games on Game Pass or in general? I stopped playing this series once it got all Fast and Furious. I like simcade stuff like Forza Motorsport but Horizon and Grid are also some of my favourites.
It was one of the first games I've completed since I switched to Xbox on my XSX. Really liked it, but I'm way more interested in the sequel. Thought it already looked and played great on current gen.
I'll wait for reviews and maybe buy one at Christmas. Already happy with my Razer Kishi, but I'll admit a 3.5 mm jack and being able to keep the case on are nice touches. Also, lol at the IOS one being $10 more expensive.
Looks good and Isaac can talk, but I can't say I'm swept off my feet. Something about the audio feels off, I can't put my finger on it though. Probably missing Twinkle Twinkle Little Star. I'll probably just replay Dead Space close to Halloween and try the remake when it eventually hits EA Play, which it will.
@Dezzy70
Agreed. Nintendo seems to be doing its own thing and few people will disagree that it's working wonders for them.
@raftos
I'd imagine their lawyers were talking to the FTC. A website with some slogans will hardly convince an average gamer, let alone a rabid fanboy of PS or FTC people.
