Welcome to the weekend! If you're looking for something to play on Xbox from October 8th-9th, don't forget that we've got a few new Xbox Game Pass additions, three more Free Play Days titles, and a whole batch of fantastic deals!
Here's what we're playing this weekend:
Fraser Gilbert, Editor
You know what I've been going back to recently? Crash Bandicoot N. Sane Trilogy. It might actually be my favourite remake of all time - I think they did an absolutely incredible job recreating those three PS1 classics! I completed the first game in a couple of afternoons last week, so I should be finished with Crash 2 very soon.
I might also revisit some classic Xbox games through Xbox 360 backwards compatibility this weekend. The likes of Burnout 3: Takedown, Tony Hawk's Underground and Pro Evolution Soccer 5 are all playable on an Xbox 360 if you've got a hard drive, and I feel like I'm in the mood to rekindle some childhood memories!
Have a great weekend, everyone.

I'll be starting out on an upcoming Xbox Game Pass title for review this week, which I'm very much looking forward to telling you all about... when I can! Aside from that, I too am feeling the nostalgia wave this weekend.
In that case, I might dip into an old Need for Speed title; Unbound's reveal has planted the series back into my mind! I played a fair amount of Need for Speed: Hot Pursuit Remastered when it was added to EA Play last year, so I might hop back into that one! Criterion knows how to make a good arcade racer let me tell ya.
Have a good one, folks!
What Xbox games are you playing this weekend? Let us know down in the comments below.

The Walking Dead: The Complete First Season (Windows Store) - Just starting on the first episode for Halloween purposes.
Age of Empires: Castle Siege (Android) - I'm at a brick wall now, with nothing left to do.
Temple Run 2 (Windows Phone) - Still having a blast with this.
Gonna try and reach battlepass level 200 in Fortnite, almost there.
Also gonna try and finish up Strangers of Paradise: Final Fantasy Origins
And probably gonna start Castlevania Portrait of Ruin on my DS.
On PS5 i will be continuing with Atelier Sophie 2 and The Diofield Chronicle.
On switch I will hopefully be completing Pikmin 3 deluxe so then I can move on to Fire emblem warriors three hopes.
And on my series S I will be playing a bit more Fifa 23 and Dying Light 2.
Dont have much time for gaming nowadays with two kids. Worst part is that I keep buying games .
So I'll try to continue with deathloop..still doesnt grab me as much.
Also I bought in sound mind..perhaps I'll start it over the weekend
Main:Thief (2014)- I'm in the 4th chapter and loving it!
On the side: NBA 2K23 (MJ Challenge, only just defeated Georgetown)
Insurgency Sandstorm- online co-op matches against AI.
Have a good weekend guys and gals!
Hi there fellow gamers.
I´ll be continuing on with the Halo Master Chief Collection on my Xbox Series X, specifically Halo Reach wich I´m really enjoying.
On my PS5, more DnF Duel matches, and some GG Strive as well.
Finally on my Switch, Triagle Strategy on chapter 3.
Cheers, stay safe good people and happy gaming weekend to us all
Black via EA games on GPU (never played it before)
Finished Tinykin (recommended) & Beacon Pines
A bit of Chivalry 2
Edit: And FH5 season oc, like every week
Prodeus, Midnight Fight Express, Metal Hellsinger all on game pass before Scorn next friday
Ni No Kuni for me and Slime Rancher 2 for the kids.
We have a whole day of gaming today so couldn’t be happier. Even brought an extra TV and monitor from other parts of the house, along with their Xboxes, so we are all playing in the lounge together while staying in our pyjamas.
On my Xbox it's Ni No Kuni. Very beautiful jrpg and good to see were able to play these kind of games on Xbox now. The art style is magnificent, it feels like watching a great cartoon.
On my ps5 it's 2 games. Saints row 4 for some mindless open world action. Enjoying my time with it. Atelier Ryza is the other one. Very relaxing game
I don't have too much time to play this weekend, but the time I do have will be spent with Arx Fatalis, which is on Game Pass for PC if anyone else is interested and didn't know that. Also, I can confirm that the Arx Libertatis fan patch does work with this version of the game. So far, I'm not super digging it, but its interesting enough. I've only played for a couple of hours at this point, and hoping it picks up a bit and/or I start to see what it has to offer more clearly.
Playing through the Mass Effect Trilogy Legendary Edition and Doom (2016) on Series X.
Watch me on twitch: zydioxb
I usually play late at night. Midnight to 4:30 a.m. Central Time.
Immortals Fenyx Rising, a wonderful game that looks and runs great on Series X (performance mode).
I'll be jumping on the Street Fighter 6 beta, played some last night and so far it's looking great, might jump into so Deus Ex too
Grounded has fully gotten its hooks in me and I just killed my first wolf spider yesterday, also replaying Bayonetta 2 in anticipation of 3. Maybe some Alien vs Predator as well, got a group of 6 together the other night and it was a blast.
I finally started Cyberpunk 2077 (Xbox Series X) and it’s one of the most immersive (and overwhelming) games I’ve ever played. Night City is a really fantastic setting, with bizarre characters and an underbelly worth exploring. The characters are memorable, and I love choosing optional dialogues to flesh out them out.
I also find the writing quite excellent. I know that some people have issues with it considering it’s an RPG and your choices should have genuine consequences and benefits, and the game doesn’t necessarily feature that ending wise, but that’s okay to me. I basically look at the game as a FPS with RPG elements, and character development with the dialogue choices. I don’t need my actions to affect the overall game, so long as I build relationships with the people I spend time with. I don’t look at this game as a Fallout experience. If you approach the game from that perspective I think it becomes an overall better experience.
Finished Persona 3 Portable today, which means I'll finally be able to focus on other games this weekend! I think I'll be primarily playing Immortals Fenyx Rising and FEAR this weekend. I might also start up Yokai Watch 2 and/or Persona 3: Dancing in Moonlight.
I just finished Trek to Yomi. So much was good about it-audio, visual, story-but I wish the combat was better and less repetitive.
For the rest of the weekend I am playing As Dusk Falls. I have been really looking forward to this one!
Disney Dreamlight Valley, Multiversus, and King of Fighters 15.
Just finished Act 1 of Pathfinder Wrath of the Righteous and I'll definitely be playing this one for quite a while.
Still playing and enjoying every second of Assassin's Creed Odyssey! It's just such a fun game. Fun. Something that a lot of games forget to be.
Thinking of following with Valhalla or maybe Fallout 3.
Finishing Beacon Pines which really surprised me in a good way. Then probably Grounded. Maybe D2R new season.
Vampire Survivors, Grimnight Heroes and some Splatoon 3
Banjo tooie for me. And maybe combat evolved
Animal Crossing and Kirby on Switch
I'm gonna start up Blackops Cold War campaign on Series X
Castlevania SotN (Xbox Series X) Doing my yearly playthrough of this great game and just in time for Halloween too!
TMNT III Radical Rescue (Switch) I never played this game before getting the Collection. It's a pretty good take on the Metroidvania formula.
Overwatch 2 (Xbox Series X) Been a few years since I played Overwatch and with the release of 2 it sounded like a good time to jump back in and of course it hooked me all over again.
@Pusher2021 Black is a fantastic choice, hope you enjoy it! It was easily my favourite shooter on the PS2 (Halo edges it out on the Xbox of course). Even now, it has a very particular atmosphere and a pretty brutal and LOUD feel compared to all other shooters
I cant help booting up Forza Horizon 4, its getting all the hours in this household! Ive also added Forza 1,2 and 3 to the collection as well as Project Gotham Racing 3 and 4. You can pick them all up for few quid on ebay, and im amazed how well they stand up even by todays standards!
Im also trying to strike one off 'the guilty list' . I never completed Ori will of the whisps, so Ive started a new game of that and intend to see that through at last.
Im not keen on committing to anything else, as im waiting on GOW and want to give that my full attention when that turns up. But we get get Plauge Tale 2 soon, how can I resist?
@bagman8 I enjoyed Spec Ops The line so much, I thought, why not try Black since I always wanted to play it.
The button layout needed me to adjust somewhat. I like it so far (level 6) considering it' a PS2/Xbox title (2006).
Enemies are no pushover, like, you almost need an entire clip before they go down & then the dude with the hockey mask is even tougher. Challenging but fun! After this probably going back to Prodeus. Surprised I've been playing a lot of FPS lately
Still divided up among elden ring, ac valhalla, deathloop and cyberpunk. A level of prodeus in between now and then. Such a fun classic vibe fps 😊 i honesty don’t know how I’m able to skip between all of these, but somehow I’m pulling it off 😂
I've been playing some of Medieval Dynasty I'm enjoying it more than i expected too even though it's pretty rough performance wise.
@Banjo- That's what I have on my list to play next.
I lied. I ended up playing monster train all day
After the NFS Unbound trailer (don't get the hate I'm seeing, looks AWESOME... I'm also a huge "Japanophile" to be fair though 🤣) I downloaded NFS Heat on my XsX to finally run through and get that 1000Gs (already got the Plat. launch week on PS4)
Also need to get through OG Dead Space before the Remake and did the first 2 Chapters last night, pretty great so far 😁
Before the end of the day I'll play some Theatrhythm Final Fantasy Curtain Call on my 3DS (can't wait till the New/Complete/Ultimate Version launches in February. Will be picking that up on my PS5, maybe also Switch 🤔)
@ZYDIO Very well, it's a great adventure 😊.
Playing Nioh 2
Well, I planned on playing some more The Outer Worlds today and some Stray but I fell ill last night and have been in bed all day. Hopefully I can get an hour or so in later.
Anyone else here played Stray? I’m enjoying it and it looks stunning in parts thanks to the art direction but the gameplay is bang average. Maybe I was expecting too much.
I just restarted Witcher 3. I have a saved game from 2015, but I don't remember much of the hour or two I played back then. Coming into it seven years later, I'm finding it very approachable and looking forward to the journey.
@Sakisa
What Alienvs Predator game? The only one I have is an old Xbox 360 game
@Stoned_Patrol That's the exact one, and we did end up playing a few matches of it last night. It was in a deep sale recently, and is still a blast with the right group of friends.
@Ekamiya Why don't you wait for The Witcher 3 free Series S/X upgrade? In case you have a Series S/X...
Diablo 2 season 2 on series s
@Banjo- Good point. Still no release date on it though, and tbh, it looks great as is.
