Welcome to the weekend! The big focus of this weekend for many Xbox fans will be Scorn, which just arrived on Xbox Game Pass yesterday, although there are plenty of other new Game Pass titles to check out over the next few days, along with more Free Play Days additions and hundreds of great deals to take advantage of!
Here's what we're playing this weekend:
Fraser Gilbert, Editor
I've spent the past week playing NHL 23 for review, and although I'm unfortunately not the biggest fan of it, I'll probably at least spend some time with Hockey Ultimate Team this weekend. The other obvious attraction is Scorn on Xbox Game Pass, which I've downloaded but haven't had a chance to start yet. I'll get there eventually!
That's about it for me, so have a great weekend everyone!
What Xbox games are you playing this weekend? Let us know down in the comments below.

Prodeus & You Suck At Parking
Still going through Arx Fatalis as I've had very little time to game this week. I might actually be able to sink some real time into it this weekend.
On PS5 I've recently completed Soul Hackers 2 which to me is the worst shin megami game I've played. I will now fully focus on Atelier Sophie 2 and The Diofield Chronicle
On switch I've completed Pikmin 3 deluxe this morning, such a great game and my first in the series but boy was that last area frustrating. Now I can go grind for some swimsuits in Xenoblade chronicles 3
On series S I will most likely play some more Dying Light 2 and I'm tempted to play Life is strange true colors
The Walking Dead: The Complete First Season (Windows Store) - Starting on Episode 3 this weekend.
Panzer Geekz (Windows Phone) - Back to fooling around with this.
Temple Run 2 (Windows Phone) - Still a blast in bursts here and there.
Finished Thief (2014). Loved everything about it and a big shoutout to Pure Xbox staff for the recommendation. The ending clearly suggested there might be a sequel but since the game flopped I guess I can only hope that Embracer will set Garret loose on the city again.
This weekend I'm playing Trek to Yomi. I've already completed the prologue and like the game a lot.
A bit of Forza Horizon 4 and Insurgency Sandstorm on the side as well.
Have a good weekend everyone!
@gollumb82 What a great selection of games mentioned here, Insurgency is bloody brill!
Glad to see you ended up enjoying Thief, maybe we'll get a successor one day...hopefully!
I will continue my evil playthrough in Dragon Age: Inquisition. After that, I might jump in Tell Me Why. Have a wonderful weekend everyone!
Beat Spirit of the North: Enhanced Edition and Chicory: a Colourful Tale yesterday. Also beat Castlevenia: Portrait of Ruin 2 days ago and Strangers of Paradise: Final Fantasy Origin 5 days ago.
Started Playing Agents of Mayhem this morning and I’m still playing Fortnite trying to get level 200.
I’m currently replaying one of my favorite games of last gen: Rise of the Tomb Raider (Xbox Series X). I originally beat it on the PS4 when it first released so it almost feels like a new game since it’s been years since I’ve played it. I wish it would get enhanced similarly third games, but nonetheless, it’s still a fantastic game even after all of these years.
It improved drastically from the first game, and I truly think it’s criminally underrated. The game has everything I love in a video game: Meaningful exploration that is rewarding; notes/documents that are compelling to read and also feature fantastic narration voiceover; collectibles that have a history lesson to them; fun gameplay with a variety of weapons and combat skills that are all upgradable, along with a ton of changeable outfits that feature benefits for your character; an interesting narrative with an intriguing main character and protagonist; and puzzle solving that’s not that challenging. This is what I’m looking for in an action adventure game. And I also think it’s better than Uncharted in some respects (a favorite franchise of mine, too). You can call me crazy, but I firmly believe RoTR is a masterpiece.
I’m also playing The DioField Chronicle (Xbox Series X). I don’t know if I’ll actually beat this game, but it’s fun to complete a few missions here and there. The characters and story are bland, but the combat is quite good. The battles don’t last that long either, so that’s a plus; it makes the game digestible in bite sized chunks.
Hopefully, these two games will keep me busy enough until God of War: Ragnarok releases.
Still trying to complete 100% AC: Odyssey. It's been a blast so far! I also played a little Fallout 3, but my focus is on Odyssey.
Finished scorn last night , thought it would longer, don’t know what I will play this weekend nothing too long I am waiting for a plague tale
Forza 1. Yes, Ive gone back to the genesis, and its still an excellent game. 😁 2 and 3 are waiting for afterwards before I return to my favourite fh4. Not sure Ill ever go back to 5, but never say never!
I thought Id be playing pgr 3 and 4, as I picked up the disks cheap and I thought series x was backwards compatable. Ive discovered its not, unless they wrote a patch, so lesson learned, the machine is not back compatable with 360 games at all, only if said game has been patched to work, and thats not even universally true for 1st party titles. Doh!
Looking foward to plague tale 2, and gow in a few weeks.
Hi there fellow gamers.
Still enjoying my new Xbox Series X and, since I´ve finished Halo 4 and with that, the Halo Master Chief Collection, I´m going to start Gears of war 4 for the very first time.
On my PS5, still on Horizon Forbidden West, man that game is big, doing some exploration and some missions here and there, and will also be playing the Guilty Gear Strive Crossplay beta.
Finally on my Switch, still playing Triangle Strategy, chapter 4 now and some Dark Souls Remaster on ocasion.
Cheers, stay safe good people and happy gaming weekend to us all
@UltimateOtaku91 I really enjoyed true clours and highly recommend it. Unless you are very anti-woke, in which case it might annoy. I thought its tale was strong and strongly delivered and I liked the characters a lot. I hope you like it if you choose to play it.
Finish south park the stick of the truth, trying immortality and enjoy a lot weird west!
The Evil Within 2 - Big fan of the first game and wanna give this game another chance.
Scorn - I love the design of it but the game itself is convoluted. I've had to use walkthrough since I had no idea what to do or where to go, plus the first puzzle isn't a great way to start off the game, considering it's difficult and took me nearly an hour to do it. This is bound to make people quit the game early.
@Titntin I'm definitely not anti woke, I really enjoyed the first life is strange, I heard true colors doesn't have much in terms of meaningful choices that effect the story which put me off playing originally.
But I will definitely give it a good few hours later today.
Scorn, Prodeus and Plague Tale Requiem just round the corner. Game pass is awesome
I'm playing Doom 2016.
Brought copy of pure the other day so gonna have bit of bc. Also fifa 23
Not been playing much on the Xbox of late. Will definitely download Scorn later though. Had my eye on that one for ages.
Still playing ni no kuni on the Xbox. Such a beautiful game but a bit on the grindy side. I might put it aside when A Plague Tale lands in a few days.
On my ps5 I'm playing Atelier ryza. My first Atelier game. Very relaxing game. The alchemy is easy to understand and the battles are in a atb kind of way which gives enough time to think while not being to slow. Will certainly play more atelier games now.
Not playing Nickelodeon Kart Racers 3, unfortunately. I bought it for Series S and it's a frame-dropping mess. Got a refund.
Have owned Costume Quest for years now. This needs a port to Switch and a remakenor a sequel. I didn't like the second game as much but it's been long enough to ask for something new.
Switch- Easy Come Easy Golf, TMNT Cowabunga Collection, Cotton, and Mario Strikers Battle League
Series X- Disney Dreamlight Valley, Capcom Fighting Collection, Puyo Puyo Tetris, and King of Fighters 15.
@Kezelpaso
Thank you for encouraging me to give it a go 😀 Thief is one of my favourite franchises, but I skipped the latest one when it launched due to middling reviews. Don't know what those reviewers had against it, really. I decided to dust off my old gaming laptop (2GB VRAM) just to replay the original trilogy. Might also replay FEAR1 while I'm at it, too.
As for the sequel, I pray that Embracer lets it happen, but I'm not holding my breath.
Resident Evil (Xbox One).
@Solidchief I got frustrated on that first puzzle, gave it a decent amount of time, but eventually realized I wasn't having fun and uninstalled it. If there's a walkthrough out I may eventually reinstall it for the achievements, but with so many other things to play, I'd rather play something that's a good time organically. It just wasn't my cup of tea.
Continuing with The Outer Worlds and trying to get into Scorn. Will give it another chance tonight.
Monster Train and Grounded by day, Scorn by night.
I always set out to play specific things and end up playing something else. Been playing Fuga Melodies of Steel instead. It's pretty okay.
I'm mostly playing Neon Abyss and Burnout Paradise Remastered. When I’m not doing that I’ll make time for Halo Infinite’s Social Slayer. What a great addition!
New to Xbox, enjoying the console and game pass quite a bit at the moment! Going through Scarlet Nexus and Tunic. Both pretty decent games, would recommend if you enjoy the genre.
Nothing!
My XSeX hasn't shipped yet.
It should be here by Friday though.
@Stamnoso welcome to the Xbox fam my man
I've decided venture into No Man Sky (again) after a few years. It sure has changed a lot. Playing on Series S.
Just bought the Pocky and Rocky remake on Switch so will relive some old memories.
I played Scorn for about an hour. It looks amazing, and I really enjoyed the puzzles, which are of the type I don't usually have much patience for. However the game gave me chronic motion sickness so I had to give up on it.
Since then I've played Besiege, which I highly recommend. I only tried it out of curiosity and it's been one of the most enjoyable games I've played in ages. It's very, very clever, and a really polished, slick game.
Had more time with Scorn. I’m really enjoying it, it’s disgusting in the best way. I spent way too much time on the first puzzle I thought I had to do something else when I didn’t 🤣 making progress now. One of the most visually interesting and stunning games I’ve played for a little while. I can totally see why people won’t like it but I’m digging it. Marmite game for sure.
