Insurgency: Sandstorm has been playable on Xbox Game Pass for a few days now, having arrived on the service as one of November 2022's biggest Game Pass additions. Here at Pure Xbox, we've been enjoying this one since it first released on console, and we're glad to see the game opened up to a whole new audience.
Sandstorm is a pretty intense FPS experience; it's certainly unique in the console space with its unforgiving mechanics and extremely fast time-to-kill. Once you really learn the game though, Sandstorm is a super rewarding experience in our opinion - getting a kill or capturing an objective is always a thrill in this game!
It certainly won't be for everyone though, so we're incredibly curious to find out how you've been getting on with Sandstorm over the past few days. Have you been enjoying it as much as you expected? Has it surprised you? Finding it tough so far?

Tried it and was shocked how bad it felt personally...felt and looked like a not particularly good 360 game to me lol
I actually haven't had a chance to try it out yet, but it looks like I will have a chance today.
Absolutely fantastic game. The graphics are serviceable, but won't blow minds.
The gameplay is where it is really at. If you're wanting modern milsim, this is the game to play. Only other shooter close to the same feel is Hell Let Loose which is the tactical WW2 FPS to play.
Its really good I think the team effort brings back memories of some ghost recon glory days. I have four or five friends that we have played this until 3 am several times now its just great that a game can bring you back together.
If you go in expecting Call of Shooty Bangs then yeah, it's disappointing. I suppose that's why consoles never got ARMA 3. It's a sim so the realism and shooting mechanics are the stars of the show. I have already made my voice heard on this one- fantastic milisim where cooperation and tactical gameplay pays off.
After playing this, I immediately thought to myself that these 'optimized for series x|s' games are bs because this game looks bad.
Meh. I see how the ideas in it could be interesting. Gameplay didn't feel realistic to me, just clunky.
Graphics were bad. I have a series s, maybe it looks better on series x.
Keep in mind this is just my opinion on it. Not worth my time. However if it leads to a more polished insurgency 2 or something, more power to them.
The genre could certainly use the competition.
