I got 3 more months of Game Pass and subbed to Geforce Now. Think I’m done buying games for a while. Also got a few PS Plus games to play from recenr additions (Dead Space Remake, Ghostwire Tokyo).

Amazing news! Most of the games I own on Xbox aren’t on the list but it’s a great start. Waiting for full Amazon Fire Tv stick integration.

Hahah. First rime someone called me a shill. If you read any of my posts here you’d know I game on all platforms and have no favourites, take no sides. So you paid for a digital product that is on a server somewhere. It’s not bread or a can of soda. Things like that have happened before and will keep happening. With lots of people trying to access it, there will be inevitable issues. I’m just aware of this and there are worse tragedies in life than waiting a day or two to play a game.

I’ll be playing it via xCloud (the only way I play Xbox games) but I can wait a day or two for things to be sorted should there be any launch issues.

People getting riled up over something fairly common in modern gaming. Imagine what will happen when GTA6 launches… Just wait till tomorrow and the issue will get sorted (most likely).

Errr… combat is the worst aspect of all Witcher games. Time will tell if it’s anything worth playing.

I prefer FH4 to FH5, but recently tried the Badlands rally content and I’m loving cruising through those dirt stages in my Focus RS 2001 rally car (complete with McRae/Grist livery). FH5 is a great game and should have been included, I think.

I will definitely try Aliens. Love the franchise but wasn’t convinced I’d like the game. Not a big fan of rts games, but if it’s on Game Pass I have nothing to lose.

True. I realise not everyone can afford to own more than one console (I have a PS5, Switch and use xCloud a lot). I also agree that those who can only afford one sometimes become diehards that get upset a game they might want to play will not be available on that particular platform. However, I think it’s just the vocal minority. Most gamers just game on their platform of choice and don’t care about tribal wars in comments sections on websites like Push or PX.

Whew, glad I game on both Playstation and Xbox (if only via cloud). That said, I hate soulslikes and I won’t lose any sleep over it if true.

Another win for cloud gaming. Glad I don’t have to bother with this stuff and can just play the game fully up to date right off the bat.

XCloud does support Dolby Vision and Dolby Atmos. I’ve just finished Black Ops 6 campaign and loved the way both worked. As for the resolution, MS will prolly add it later on. I get why you’d prefer to play it the traditional way, though. That said, yesterday I played Forza Motorsport in 1080p/60 via xCloud and throughout the 2 hours of racing I had almost zero lag and the game looked/played great. MS also recently improved the bitrate so the blurriness that used to be there is basically gone.

Already got it on PC/Xbox thanks to the Play Anywhere scheme. My favourite Horizon game.

Ah. It’s so good not having to download the likes of Forza Motorsport, Horizon or the upcoming Stalker 2 if you only use xCloud. I really love the fact I can just switch between these games in an instant without pre-downloading anything.

On PS5- Horizon FW. Loving every second of it and I’m halfway through.
On xCloud- finished Black Ops 6 (liked it a lot). Now jumping between Forza Motorsport and Horizon 5, killing time before Stalker 2 hits.

He said what we already knew. I’m really into xCloud and I hope MS realises that it would help a lot to promote it if they came up with a cheaper, cloud only Game Pass tier. That said, Series X is a great console that I prefer over PS5 easily. I’m keeping my fingers crossed for the Xbox handheld and next gen console.

No worries mate. I’m no fanboy and if I can find a better service I just go elsewhere 🙂 I can agree that xCloud isn’t perfect and there’s room for improvement. I hope MS puts in the work necessary to make xCloud better and more reliable.

That pretty much describes me, yeah. Again, I’m aware I’m in the minority but this minority will be growing in numbers as time goes by. Also, you don’t own digital games either and pretty soon physical games will simply become extinct.

Yeah, I looked into Geforce Now and even if it can do 4K/ HDR its library is limited and you have to buy the games. If it could play all my Steam games I’d probably switch to GFN, though. I play xCloud games in 1080p/60 and with Dolby Vision/Atmos. That’s more than enough for me and Game Pass has a decent enough library with Day One Xbox games like BO6, Stalker 2 and Indy. I’ve honestly given up on the idea of buying games, unless I really want to have a digital licence lol.

I’ll just wait 🙂 I’m a patient man, lol. I get I’m in the minority here, but I feel that if and when cloud gaming takes over, Microsoft will be way ahead of Sony in this regard.

I’ll be the first to say I’m loving this. I think cloud gaming is the future and I’m waiting for the cloud enhancements that Pure Xbox talked about earlier (better bitrate, the ability to stream the games you own etc). I do feel like I own an Xbox, while only using xCloud on an Amazon Fire tv stick. Just completed Black Ops 6 that way and looking forward to playing Stalker 2 on xCloud as well. Once Sony makes the same possible with Playstation games I’m going to stop buying hardware altogether.

Pretty much any game launching on Xbox is considered by Phil to be remarkable, phenomenal or monumental, so I kinda ignore his remarks. That said, I have Horizon FW to finish within a week and then it’s Stalker 2 time. Very happy for the devs that the game is actually going to see the light of day.

I mean, I liked the early Molyneux 🙂 the original Syndicate is one of my all time favourite games. Too bad he ended up the way he did.

I don’t care what Phil says anymore. He’s about as trustworthy as Peter Molyneux.

Microsoft Gaming in a few years it is then. If all that’s left of Xbox is Game Pass I will just be either doing xCloud (like I am now) or switch to the PC when next gen begins (do we even have gens anymore?).

Since I’ve bought that Amazon Fire tv 4K max stick I’m good with xCloud and streaming Game Pass games. I’m waiting for MS to let me stream my owned games and then I’ll never need another Xbox again (PS5 is my main console anyway). These „deals” won’t help matters, that’s for sure.

Stalker 2 and this coming out this year still. Both on Game Pass, day one. Great times for Xbox fans 🙂 I’ll be there for both releases.

The hype and the first year. Series X was my first ever Xbox and I loved it. For a year, at least. Now I find myself wanting one again, but can’t really afford it right now. I’ve been using xCloud for the last 2-3 months and may just stick with it instead of buying a Series console midway through the gen that’s been underwhelming, to say the least.

On PS5: Horizon FW. Halfway through the game and loving every second.
xCloud: COD BO6. Prolly my favourite COD campaign. Almost done with it, too. While playing I discovered that Dolby Vision+ Atmos is a lot better than HDR+ Tempest 3D (PS5).

Agreed! I’m already a huge xCloud fan and this would really make my Amazon Fire tv 4K stick a great Xbox in the cloud.

It was pretty much the same for me. Always a PS gamer and the hype around the Series consoles made me get a Series X at launch. 2021 was amazing and then it all went downhill. I jumped platforms multiple times and still find myself in limbo gaming-wise. I don’t like Sony, but I like their games. I actually like Microsoft and the hardware (Series X rocks) but there are not enough games to justify the expense. Currently have a PS5, Switch and just bought an Amazon Fire tv stick 4K Max to stream Xbox games via xCloud, which works great for me. Don’t really know what’s next, though. I’ll just wait and see but I’m actually really getting into the convenience of not having to buy a console and download huge anounts of data to play games so I might just stick to GPU and streaming next gen.

Stalker 2! And I say this as a huge fan of Indiana Jones. Indy is still a ways off so I’m focusing on the game that represents my favourite genre (next to cyberpunk), namely post apo.

I’m not bothered, either way. Been playing my Xbox games via xCloud (works great for me) using the Amazon Fire tv 4K max stick and won’t be buying any more Xbox consoles. If Sony let us stream PS games the same way I’d sell my PS5 as well.

Cool beans. I’m playing the game via xCloud in 1080p/60 and I think it looks and plays great. Chasing the graphics rabbit has got us here, where games take ages to be made and gamers complain about frame pacing and upscaling instead of enjoying games. I have a PS5 but I’ll just wait for PS6. The Pro isn’t worth it in my book.

Gears for me. Joined the party way too late to enjoy the clunky gameplay of the original outing. Also, lost interest in Halo after Halo 2. Love all Forza Horizon games (though 5 was by far the worst one) and I want to try Fable when I find the time.

Series S is a great console (had one 3 years ago) but I can get a used Series X for about $200 here in Poland. Think it’s a no-brainer at that price 🙂

Considering how well Black Ops 6 plays on xCloud I will definitely be playing Stalker 2 at launch, even without actually owning an Xbox.

I totally get where you are coming from. I’ve gone through the same high of „MS may actually catch up to Sony and have an X360-like gen” to „WTH is Phil and co thinking”. A lot has happened over the last 4 years and I think it all went south when Phil was told to shut up and take a back seat, while Satya and Sarah Bond have been steering this ship in opposite directions, hoping for the best. That said, who is to say that we will see a PS7, or even PS6 Pro? The next gen of consoles may very well be the last before streaming takes over. With this in mind, I’m just going to enjoy this gen and having a PS5/XSX combo (and a solid backlog) I’ll be fine gaming-wise for a long time anyway.

Yeah, I know, but I won’t be buying the Pro. I started this gen with a Series X and liked a lot about the console. Auto HDR, quick resume and backward compatibility with 7th gen consoles especially. It’s also quieter and more aesthetically pleasing than PS5 (subjective, I know). I sold it after a while and I’ve been critical of Microsoft’s actions of late as much as anybody else, but somehow I feel confident that MS won’t ditch consoles for a good while yet. I tried going back to PC but it backfired and I do miss playing Forza Horizon 3/4. Hope I’m making sense here lol.

I’m playing Horizon Forbidden West on PS5 (fantastic game) and been increasingly looking into getting a Series X again. Stalker 2, Indy and a few upcoming Xbox games are making me want to go back.
Edit: on a whim I decided to play Black Ops 6 via xCloud since I still have an active Game Pass Ultimate sub. It works great and the game is pretty cool, too.

Probably gonna get a Series X around December for this and Stalker. Love the Indiana Jones franchise so it’s a no-brainer for me. Also, I’m actually happy stealth, puzzles, exploration are more of a focal point than action. It’s Indy, not Nathan Drake.

Yeah, I guess Satya is just reaping the rewards of their ActiBlizz acquisition. Candy Crush makes more money than anything Xbox-related lol.

What do those people do with all that money? What do they need so much of it for? They won’t be able to spend much of it before they die. Luckily, the great equaliser that waits for all of us at the end cares not for how deep their pockets are. As for gaming, yeah, those employees MS laid off must be looking at this in disbelief.

Like @Medic_alert, I started this gen with a Series X. Previously had a PS3/PS4/PS4 Pro, so I figured I’d try Xbox as I liked a lot of stuff they brought to the table (auto HDR, quick resume, BC, some features like Dolby Atmos and a fully functional web browser). I really liked my experience with it for about a year. Then I sort of became disillusioned with the quality of 1st party games and switched to PS5. I’m still rooting for Xbox, though. To me, Series X is a better console and Game Pass trumps PS Plus easily. I’m actually thinking about buying a Series X again to complement my PS5. I’m not concerned about Xbox games going to PS. I do hope MS keeps Xbox brand alive. Sony needs competition as while I like their games and hardware, I can’t say the same about the company.

Think that’s insane? I just sell and rebuy hardware whenever I change my mind lol. Since 2020 I have had (in chronological order): Series X- PS5 digital- Series S- Series X- PS5- PC- Steam Deck- ROG Ally and now I have a PS5 slim/Switch combo 😂 Also, I’m thinking about getting a new PC in a year or two.
