Re: Xbox Series S Outsold The PlayStation 5 In Japan Last Week

@NEStalgia
Someone's been paying attention! Yes, that is correct. This is my midlife crisis. At least I didn't buy a sports car 😜 Seriously, though, Xbox is my main platform of choice going forward, but I kept a Vita and PS3 for the classics I like to play. Also, you can see why I have a lot in common with Dezzy πŸ˜‰

@Dezzy70
Invite sent πŸ™‚ Oh and I've just bought the Elite Core as well.
@Banjo-
I had an Elite v2 for a spell but bought it used and it quickly developed stick drift. Otherwise it was the best controller I've had, including Dual Sense (which is overrated, by the way and the battery life is laughable).
As for my doubts about the Elite Core, I'm hoping that buying one brand new will at least give me more of a chance to use it myself before anything goes wrong or plenty of time to use the warranty service. It did fix the stick drift with my Elite v2 back in the day, but it came back within 4-5 months of the repair so I sold it.
Btw Banjo, really like your posts here and agree with most of the stuff you write. Wouldn't mind adding you as a friend as well πŸ˜‰ if your ID is the same that is
As for Switch- it just shows that gameplay trumps graphics. Well, that and Mario 😁 I have a Switch too and my daughter uses it mostly, but I like to play games on it and the handheld/docked option is really great.

@Swirly
If you're even considering it, I'd say go for it. You'll get more for the PS5 than you're probably expecting (I sold mine for more than my initial asking price) and that plus Series S will be enough to buy Series X plus Game Pass for at least a year I think.
@Dezzy70
No way. I'm actually looking for an Elite v2 or an alternative (SCUF) πŸ™‚ Feeling good about Xbox as well. It's kinda nice being able to play FEAR2 and Forza Horizon 5 on the same console with quick resume, auto HDR and in 60 fps. By the way, is your Xbox ID tag the same? Kind feel like I should send you a friend request πŸ˜‰

Re: Rumour: Xbox Initially Planned To Launch 9 Exclusives In 2023

gollumb82

If even half of this list sees the light of day in 2023 Xbox will have a great year. As for me and this discussion here, I sold my PS5 yesterday. For more than my initial asking price and it was kind of embarrassing and fun seeing people almost beg me to sell it to them even after I marked it as 'reserved'. No hate towards Playstation, it's just that I've had a PS2, 3,4, 4 PRO and 5 and decided it's time for a change. There's way more games on Xbox now and upcoming that will be fresh experiences for me as opposed to God of the Same, Horizon More Aloy etc. I guess it's normal when you've been in one ecosystem for too long. Having a Switch helps diversity, too. Here's hoping Xbox delivers next year.

Re: Xbox's Sarah Bond Gives Her Thoughts On The Massive GTA 6 Leak

Yup, those NDAs sure don't seem enough to discourage disgruntled employees from trying their best to ruin a team effort. In this case, however, Rockstar isn't losing any sleep. GTA6 will set further sales records whenever it launches and regardless of how much those leaks manage to spoil. I still have yet to play GTA IV...

@Royalblues
Again, agree with you on all points. 2023 can't come soon enough. It has to be said, though, that this gen has been nothing like the previous ones and I'd wager it's going to stay this way for a long time. Possibly till next gen, if there is a next gen. I can see MS letting go of consoles and just going all in on cloud gaming. Thanks to Xcloud I no longer fear this as my experience with it has been really positive, with Forza Horizon 4/5 being the only exceptions (stable 60 fps required).
As for consoles and sales, I got mine instead of a mobile phone from T-Mobile as the smartphone market is drier than the rivers in the north of Italy.

@Royalblues
Thanks for a great reply. Yeah, I've read all of it and think you're right. That's what led me to buy an Xbox this gen. I saw this commitment from Phil and Co, then the Bethesda acquisition pretty much coaxes any self-respecting gamer to buy at least a Series S to play their games (I'm talking about consoles, of course). Series X is a way better console than PS5 and all Xbox needs is some bangers to show those non-believers that they are back after the hiatus they took with Xbox One.

Re: Talking Point: What Are You Playing This Weekend? (September 17-18)

gollumb82

On PS5 I'm halfway through TLoU2, which now looks inferior to Part 1 courtesy of the remake. Still an amazing game.
On XSX I'm playing Prey and Grid Legends. Prey is the System Shock in space I didn't know I needed and Grid Legends is the best Grid since the original one. I even like the cheesy story haha.
On Vita: God of War. It's incredible being able to play this game on a handheld. Still remember my 1st playthrough on PS2...
Have a good one folks!

Re: Phil Spencer Passionately Defends Xbox Game Pass Over Call Of Duty Concerns

gollumb82

It's telling so many Sony fanboys keep coming to Pure Xbox just to throw dirt on Phil, MS and Game Pass. I'm sort of surprised those aren't removed as trolling. Especially as I see it's the same culprits every single time. Maybe it's about clicks.
On topic: Game Pass is still way better than PS Plus and I have both. The sheer variety of games on GP trumps PSPlus and then if you add day one releases and really good cloud gaming you've got a winner. There's a saying in Poland that best sums up this situation. Roughly translated it goes: Dogs keep barking, the caravan keeps rolling.

Re: 15 Years Ago Today, Halo 3's Phenomenal 'Believe' Marketing Campaign Began

gollumb82

I didn't have an Xbox when it happened (actually, I was a PC gamer then), but we could use something to believe in when it comes to Xbox first party games right about now. This silence is really getting on my nerves. Is there really nothing new the teams behind State of Decay 3, Starfield or Hellblade 2 can show us? Ugh.
I know, I know. I'm channeling my inner Dezzy70 here haha.

Re: Xbox & PlayStation Stuck In 'Complicated' Call Of Duty Situation, Says Geoff Keighley

@SplooshDmg
Actually, not that you've said it, I feel triggered. How is this even acceptable? I mean men, wearing only underpants, and wrestling just for the spectators to ogle them. Diagusting and I will not stand for this! I will sit down and watch 🀣
I get you. I game on anything but the PC, but I have no affinity towards any particular brand. I do feel Sony needs some serious competition and a reminder that nothing is forever.
@Fenbops
Agreed. I like the nice guy Phil, but sometimes I wish he'd deliver an uppercut to the competition just to show he means business.
