Games on steam are £20-30 cheaper. Having steam on the system, actually makes GP not as valuable. (Currently you can say day1 saves you £70, but with steam that changes to £40-50).
It’s also far less revenue for MS. - are PC players going to migrate back to it? Probably not, if anything we are seeing more shift to PC.
The Pro has to some extent limited what would have been a much bigger performance gap.
Still going to have to support the S -will S users upgrade from a £200 console to what is probably going to be £600? (Bearing in mind around 50% are using the S).
Many many people will only upgrade to the X/S/5 once GTA releases. Are they then going to want another console so soon?
It’s going to be a very tricky juggling act. I can understand wanting to get the ‘jump’ on the next PS, so let’s watch this space.
Far too early to care or give it much thought in all honesty.
@Weebleman some people won’t accept any negativity of their favourite brand. Makes discussions hard because everything will be a positive regardless. Some positive is good. No denying that but sometimes it can be to detriment as posters have good knowledge.
@Wakkawipeout the next system won’t do any better, Infact it will probably be worse.
Handhelds outside of the switch don’t sell (steam deck is less than 5m as example).
Sony is selling and that means generally those people are buying digital games and building up a library, they won’t leave that behind to start a new console (proof being that Cod didn’t increase Xbox sales despite being on gp)
It’s just the unfortunate reality, and the reason MS have gone multi platform.
They said they had issues so just need to respect that - hopefully rather than them half assing it they release BMW in a good state, the delay would be worth it and Xbox players can enjoy it
@Weebleman yeah last week or so we have them talking about specs just signed off, CoD going to previous Gen.
Then suddenly it’s a new console next year.
Next year imo only makes sense if GTA is delayed. Because then it would be ‘best place to play’. If not people have already bought their consoles for it this winter,
@Fiendish-Beaver but by that logic, releasing a year earlier than Sony (while everything is still cross gen) would mean Sony would just beat MS specifications a year later.
Because they would know what’s in the console (just as MS do with Sony kit) that’s why they always end up pretty similar in terms of performance.
Is releasing early going to tempt enough of the 30million to upgrade to a new console?
Glad it has done well for them. Personally the more I’m playing it the more the original gloss is wearing off. Still enjoying it and will finish my play through.
It’s a nice world. But it’s a very very shallow world. Has graphical bugs during cutscenes (series S) to name a few.
But the dev wants to do more in the world so there’s an excellent base to build upon and improve. - and as it’s sold well etc there’s more chance of a sequel
@MonsterMike you can spend quite a length of time each and every day to complete the quests to get points - it used to be very quick but it now takes far longer - and you can get ‘streaks’ to increase the rewards.
But nowadays and with the price increase it’s honestly not worth the time
It’s an 8 but it’s not a bad 8. Based on early impressions I’m enjoying it as I knew I would. But playing on series S you can tell there’s a few issues.
But yeah I’ll be playing till completion I would wager!

Re: Sony-Owned 'Patapon' Is Coming To PS5, Switch And PC, But No Sign Of Xbox
If Microsoft were in Sonys shoes, they also wouldn’t release it. It just is what it is.
Re: Talking Point: Will Any Next-Gen Xbox Have A Disc Drive?
If it’s a ‘PC’ with steam (which I doubt) then no it won’t have a drive.
Because no one will buy off the Xbox store it will only get use for GPU, everything will be bought on steam.
Re: Sledders Debuts To Positive Xbox Reviews Following Very Successful Launch
@Kaloudz I never really use any store reviews as 90% of the time it’s just nonsense.
I normally just give them a quick glance to check that there isn’t a common theme that points to performance issues.
Re: Talking Point: Which Steam Games Would You Want To Play On An Xbox Console?
So all the games are already on steam. Cheaper than Xbox. With a well built user base.
Majority of games by 27 will be on switch2/ps.
So who exactly, outside of current Xbox users are going to be that interested?
Obviously on a publisher/software side of thing they are in a good place.
But hardware is showing to be another story. It’s not even like there is a big user base to lean on.
Personally I can’t see how it will have steam, run the games anywhere near equivalent to a PC version. Or be at an affordable price.
Re: Roundup: Here's What The Reviews Are Saying About Atomfall On Xbox Game Pass
Sounds like it’s one to maybe give them a couple of months to put a few updates/changes in place.
Re: Xbox UK Is Offering A Decent Discount On Refurbished Series X Consoles This Week
£380 for refurb. In a sale.
Sony are doing 430 with Astro bot for new.
I wish MS would let consumers know what the stock issue is all about.
Has @purexbox tried contacting Microsoft ?
Re: Talking Point: Is It Too Early To Release A New Xbox Console In 2027?
I still don’t see it supporting steam.

Re: Xbox Series X|S Sales Now Trailing Almost 20% Behind Xbox One In The US
@donv2135 sales down for everyone… article literally says ps5 is up by 7%.

No matter what the data is showing.

It’s the devs first full game no?
They said they had issues so just need to respect that - hopefully rather than them half assing it they release BMW in a good state, the delay would be worth it and Xbox players can enjoy it
Re: Rumour: New GTA 5 Update Suggests It Might Be Coming Back To Xbox Game Pass
It comes it goes it comes it goes.
Flip flopping between Xbox and ps.
Must be a slow news day for gta 5 to be worthy of its own article lol.
Re: 10 Games Will Leave Xbox Game Pass In Late March 2025
@Kezelpaso thanks for that. Thought I had heard of it before!
Re: 10 Games Will Leave Xbox Game Pass In Late March 2025
I wonder if SEGA are gearing up to do their own subscription ala Ubisoft?
Seems a lot of their content has left recently
Re: Pick One: If Xbox Acquired One Ubisoft IP, Which Should It Be?
I said it in the previous article that I don’t believe MS need any of these. I don’t think there is huge money to be made in what uni would let go
(I don’t think farcry AC and probably the division/rainbow six stuff will be sold)
That said something like riders republic/trials/steep because it’s something that MS do not have in their stable.
Re: Talking Point: What Should Microsoft Call The '2027' Xbox Console & Handheld?
If it’s hand held…. Just call it the Xbox handheld
Do away with confusing names. Keep it simple. And let everyone know it’s an Xbox.
Re: Talking Point: Two Years Later, Is It Finally Almost Time For 'Forspoken' On Xbox?
Honestly it’s a fine 7/10
Some bad bits, some decent bits to it.
It would have to be on GP as it wouldn’t sell (it quickly dropped in price on PS).
Overall is it worth the effort from all sides? Probably not.
Re: Ubisoft IP Could Cost Buyers More Than The Company Itself, Says Report
They wouldn’t be allowed to buy Ubisoft as a whole (not that they would want to).
I also think MS are in a perfectly good place studio wise that they don’t really need anything in the Ubisoft stable.
They have plenty of varied IP and stuff in the back catalogue that could be brought back to life.
Re: Xbox Fans In The UK Can Now Order Games & Consoles From Just Eat
Yes because I’d trust just eat drivers with a £500 console.
Half of the time you can’t trust them with a £5 order.
Re: Bethesda's Rumoured Elder Scrolls IV Remake Could Shadow Drop On Xbox, It's Claimed
If we all know about it. And it’s leaked.
Is it a shadow drop?
Or as usual have ‘leakers’ spoiled it
Re: Xbox's 2025 Handheld Likely To Be PC-Focused, But Console Games Could Work In Future
I think again the price will be the issue.
The rumours I’ve seen (and yes probably unfounded and BS) they were suggesting $5-600
Re: Talking Point: Will The New '2027' Xbox Console Have Steam Support?
Steam is often cheaper. So how will that work in MS favour? Especially as there were the rumours of game prices going up with the likes of gta.
Or will MS just stop selling actual games and just provide gamepass.
Or else why use an ‘Xbox’ when pc is still there?
Will be interesting to see what comes. More importantly is the price. Considering the 2025 handheld is rumoured to be $500 and not play console games.

Re: Xbox Series S Needs A 'Significant' Marketing Push For GTA 6, Insists Analyst
Putting it sub £200 isn’t exactly rare. I gout mine for £180.
But it’s all good and well saying do this/that and we have no idea how the game will actually run.
Re: Talking Point: If The Next-Gen Xbox Is More 'PC-Like', Will You Still Buy It?
Let’s see where we are at in 30mpnths time when it will be roughly due.
Specs? Price (trump will still be in office). Who knows how the world will be. Maybe streaming will be in a better spot by then?
Way too many variables and too far away to give it much thought.

Re: Xbox Series X|S Sales Down Almost 50% As Fans Question Stock Levels In Certain Regions
@themightyant my apologies I misread the article. It doesn’t state 80%
Re: Xbox Series X|S Sales Down Almost 50% As Fans Question Stock Levels In Certain Regions
@Kezelpaso argos is location specific. I’m NW England. No stock nearby.
No stock on major online retailers either - stuff like shopto, gamecollection.
Re: Xbox Series X|S Sales Down Almost 50% As Fans Question Stock Levels In Certain Regions
@themightyant most recent figures said it was around 80% on console. (MS well known for hiding figures)
GPU isn’t growing at any sort of big numbers (latest financials show this) they only reported growth in PC GP.
So logic would dictate that majority of users are still on console.
Re: Avowed New Update Now Live For Xbox, Here Are The Full Patch Notes
@HonestHick I’ve enjoyed it so far, but my initial ‘hype’ has definitely lowered.
Either way there’s a great platform to build from for a second entry.
Re: Avowed New Update Now Live For Xbox, Here Are The Full Patch Notes
@HonestHick as wide as an ocean and as deep as a puddle sadly.
The more you play. The more you notice things.
Still a solid game but certainly has issues
Re: Talking Point: With Fable Now Delayed, Which Xbox First-Party Game Launches This Fall?
We have seen quite a bit of clockwork revolution so there has to be a chance of that?
I think we will only find out more once GTA has a date/delay.
Re: Xbox Has Officially Delayed Fable Into 2026
Unsurprising. A shame but it is what it is
Re: 'Mecha BREAK' Dev Talks Xbox Console Exclusivity & Future Game Pass Plans
@Ilyn which makes no sense because there are more westerners playing PS than Xbox.
As a f2p they should have gone multiplatform.
But I did like that the dev can joke around a little and not be too serious!
Re: Xbox RPG Avowed Seemingly Sold Well Despite Being In Game Pass
@themightyant I despise the using steam player count for anything. It’s such a bad metric

Re: Microsoft CEO: Xbox's New AI Model Is A 'Wow' Moment, But Great Games Must Be The Focus
AI is coming. Regardless of what people want.
It’s going to bring a lot of job losses with it too - not just at MS.
Re: Microsoft Rewards Appears To Be Increasing Its Prices For Xbox Game Pass
@MonsterMike you can spend quite a length of time each and every day to complete the quests to get points - it used to be very quick but it now takes far longer - and you can get ‘streaks’ to increase the rewards.

Re: Microsoft Rewards Appears To Be Increasing Its Prices For Xbox Game Pass
If you have points to spend. Buy the 3month for 35k while it’s there. I got them yesterday still.
That’s going to hit 50k for 3months (if it sticks to current formula).
Point farming is pretty much well gone now. I think we will see conversion trick finish tgis year. And I predict a price rise by end of June.
Re: Poll: What Do You Think Of Warhammer 40K: Rogue Trader On Xbox Game Pass?
I already owned it on ps, but if you are into crpg I can not recommend this highly enough.
Re: Talking Point: Are You Happy With The Current Xbox UI As It Stands In 2025?
@HonestHick if you think it will have less ads you are dreaming.
Re: Talking Point: Are You Happy With The Current Xbox UI As It Stands In 2025?
Would be great without ads.
I prefer the less cluttered PS screen. But the Xbox one works well.
Re: Xbox Sales Charts Dominated By EA & Microsoft In The US To Kick Off 2025
@themightyant id expect the 3month to go upto 50k so yeah stack now.
Re: Xbox Sales Charts Dominated By EA & Microsoft In The US To Kick Off 2025
@purexbox @kezelpaso (apologies not the right thread)
Is the cost of auto redeeming GPU through points going up? I’ve seen screenshots of it now being 17k points per month.
Or do we know if it’s an error?
Re: Two Games Are Available Today With Xbox Game Pass (February 20)
Rogue trader is well worth playing if you enjoy crpg.
Huge time sink tho!
Re: Poll: Xbox Fans, What Review Score Would You Give Avowed So Far?
@OldGamer999 im even more confused because at Christmas your uni son brought his series X back for you to use as you didn’t have one!
I don’t know how you keep up lol!
Re: Poll: Xbox Fans, What Review Score Would You Give Avowed So Far?
@OldGamer999 im curious.
How many consoles have you bought and sold in the last year?
At Christmas you didn’t even have an Xbox. Now you have swung so far the other way you are talking of selling your ps.
Must be respond for 25m of the 30m Xbox sold!
Re: Poll: Xbox Fans, What Review Score Would You Give Avowed So Far?
It’s an 8 but it’s not a bad 8. Based on early impressions I’m enjoying it as I knew I would. But playing on series S you can tell there’s a few issues.

Re: Rumour: Tony Hawk's Pro Skater 3+4 Remaster To Shadow Drop At Xbox Games Showcase 2025
I guess now we know about it. It just drops on that day? Shame as would have created buzz at the show!
