In recent months, we've heard plenty about Xbox's well-documented hardware sales struggles in Europe, but that isn't necessarily the case in the US; Xbox's primary market. Despite a big drop in worldwide sales last quarter, an industry analyst is on-hand to remind us that the console is still doing pretty well in its home market.
Taking to social media, Circana's Mat Piscatella (formerly NPD) tells us that "the console market isn't doomed", despite sales drops in certain regions - going on to say that Xbox Series sales are "holding close Xbox 360's pace" when comparing the two Xbox generations in the US.
Mat does acknowledge some "known challenges" that Xbox has had with shifting consoles this gen, but this is a good reminder of the bigger picture when compared to what was seen as a hugely successful console — that being Xbox 360 — in the US. If you're wondering, 'CF25' in the above post refers to College Football 25; the popular EA Sports title that's set to boost current-gen console sales thanks to its broad mainstream appeal.
Another game that should also do that is 2025's GTA 6, which at the moment is also set to be a current-gen exclusive title. Of course, it remains to be seen how these two games — and other mainstream hits — boost Xbox Series X and S sales specifically, but judging by Circana's figures, the system is still doing pretty well in its home market of the US.
