@Kaloudz because it’s absolutely tone deaf that what 2 weeks after sacking around 9000 staff for a bigger push to fund AI, tell their ex staff to use AI to get over it, they then use an AI image that isn’t even done right.
If you can’t see the negatives in that then honestly there’s no helping.
He’s totally right with the last part, and it’s certainly something Xbox has been guilty of in the past.
They always used to announce games far too early. (Even recently look at blade)
Regarding the 7-10yr cycle - do you keep throwing good money after bad potentially? Or with it going straight to a sub service is it better to have more releases for it?
If it’s only $0.6b in the US for every sub then I’m now doubting the $500m per month claim of GP that people use.
US is by far the biggest Xbox market. So even if it was 50% of that total Gamepass (it’s certainly not that by any stretch) they would still need to be finding $200m from rest of the world so seems a stretch.
Consoles sales are terrible for the biggest market too - but software is doing good.
(Again I think as a product GP is ‘profitable’ but MS are very good at hiding costs elsewhere - as any business should)
@themightyant CoD on GP at the cost of more expensive console/accessories, GP went up, game prices went up. Xbox only players haven’t had the best reward for it!
Is it always good for devs? Probably not always. - especially as an indie if you don’t get on GP.
GP is ‘profitable’ in the sense that Microsoft shows. Because it certainly doesn’t include costs such as advertising the big games, the development costs will come out of different budgets etc.
So yes Gamepass as a product in itself is highly likely to be profitable, but take in other areas of Xbox overall and it probably isn’t (or very low profit).
If it was super profitable and growing then games wouldn’t be releasing elsewhere, charge for day 1 etc.
Id love to know what these unrealistic targets actually are.
During ABK they wanted 100m GP subscribers by 2030 and that’s looking unlikely.
But one insider saying it’s unrealistic and one saying it’s reality, surely then shows the targets are there? Just one thinking it’s unrealistic to get it and one saying it’s real?

Re: Microsoft Movies & TV Is Officially Ending, Which Will Have A Big Impact On Xbox
It’s just another sucky thing for someone who has built up a library of movies on Xbox.
Re: Xbox's Contraband Still In The Works As Job Listing Reveals New Details
@GuyinPA75 well yeah. Games that release ***** perform *****.
Pretty sure mindseye would have done better too if it didn’t realise f***ed

Fo you guys not really do reviews anymore? I notice they are getting few and far between.
It’s a shame as it’s often good to read between yourselves and push.

Re: Xbox Is Using The Most Ridiculous AI Image To Advertise New Jobs
And still people can’t criticise MS when it’s deserved.
Re: Xbox Is Using The Most Ridiculous AI Image To Advertise New Jobs
lol. Just lol.
Nothing else needs saying.
Re: ASUS Seems To Have Accidentally Leaked The ROG Xbox Ally Prices (In Europe)
So everything as expected then.
Should add that is expensive for top model. If you are an Xbox only user you can get any combo of - steam deck/s2/ps5 for same price.

Re: Is Xbox Game Pass Unsustainable? Arkane Founder Sparks Huge Debate On Social Media
Gamepass is a tricky one.
It’s good for consumers currently.
Is it always good for devs? Probably not always. - especially as an indie if you don’t get on GP.

Re: Microsoft Said To Have 'Unrealistic' Expectations For Xbox, But Not Everyone Agrees
@SeaDaVie revenue will be up because everything costs more. So you can sell less and still make more.
Xbox recently had record revenue too. But they still laid off staff, and increased prices of everything bar GP

Re: Former Xbox Dev Claims Turn 10's Forza Motorsport Team 'Is No More'
Is there any more news on the contraband trailer being taken down? What it means for avalanche? Or the rumours of undead labs being affected too?
Re: Perfect Dark Developer Responds To 'Big Controversy' Over 2024 Gameplay Trailer
@BAMozzy this the same Matt booty who had openly said he had played builds of the game and it was looking good a year ago?
Sounds like he knew where the game was.
But of course you wouldn’t just wildly make things up to the contrary to defend MS now eh?
Re: DOOM Co-Creator Has Funding Pulled For AAA Title, Seemingly By Xbox
@Kaloudz looks like it’s ending up in them closing
Re: Helldivers 2 Is Officially Releasing For Xbox This August
Should have been there day 1.
Let’s see if those that wanted it buy it
Re: State Of Decay 3 Has Gone Quiet, But Apparently It's Safe At Xbox
@Titntin oh ***** yeah I was thinking concord.
I’m just saying it’s only fair to say that Sony do close games even when announced.
Re: State Of Decay 3 Has Gone Quiet, But Apparently It's Safe At Xbox
@Millionski to be fair there is the bungee one that’s been ‘delayed indefinitely’ - probably canned and marathon.
Re: Perfect Dark Gameplay Trailer Wasn't 'Indicative' Of Its Progress, Claims Reporter
Wasn’t Matt Booty saying he had played builds of perfect Dark and it was good and excited for people to see it?
So it had to be a decent way into development.
Or he was *****
Re: State Of Decay 3 Has Gone Quiet, But Apparently It's Safe At Xbox
If I remember right Booty was also playing builds of Perfect Dark a year ago.
So let’s hope that we see something about the game soon as SoD2 was decent
Re: Two More Xbox Games Are Being Cancelled, Including Perfect Dark
@Kaloudz it’s ok to criticise when criticism is due.
You don’t have to defend every choice
Re: Report: Multiple Industry Veterans To Leave Xbox Studios Amidst Layoffs
It’s hilarious that even on a day like the usual posters still won’t give MS the actual criticism it deserves when it’s warranted.
Still have to defend them no matter what!
Re: Phil Spencer Isn't Retiring Anytime Soon, Says Xbox In Response To Rumour
Once the next gen console has come and gone so roughly 24months for launch… 6month post that.
They aren’t going to announce it this early.
But Phil will be what 60ish? Led Xbox for a while so you can imagine retirement is in the thinking ynderstanably
Re: Xbox's Matt Booty Issues Statement On Layoffs And Game Cancellations
And still on days like this the same people can’t actually criticise MS when it is fully valid and deserved.
Re: Forza Motorsport Team Reportedly Loses 'Nearly 50% Of Staff' In Xbox Job Cuts
Perfect dark gone too,
Re: Xbox Layoffs Begin As Phil Spencer Shares Internal Microsoft Gaming Update
@Kaloudz rumours are Everwild at rare has been cancelled and job losses at Rare.
Re: Xbox Layoffs Begin As Phil Spencer Shares Internal Microsoft Gaming Update
@dodgykebaab yes it’s going up. Made record revenue recently and that’s all that matters
Re: Xbox Layoffs Begin As Phil Spencer Shares Internal Microsoft Gaming Update
@Exerion76 makes more money now than it did then.
That is all that matters
Re: Xbox Layoffs Begin As Phil Spencer Shares Internal Microsoft Gaming Update
So long as the line keeps going up eh?
Good luck to those who lose their jobs.
Re: Xbox Founding Member 'Not Pleased' With State Of The Brand In 2025
Id love to know who the target market this is for.
It’s not for casuals. Because of the likely price. Unless rumours were wrong and MS subside it.
The whole market is what 6million and not growing at a substantial pace.
It’s all so MS can say they have more users etc etc to look better in investor meetings.
Re: Forza Motorsport Studio Said To Be 'Bracing' For Job Cuts At Xbox
@Raccoonius guarantee it was an auto correct. Hardly the worst mistake in the world
Re: Forza Motorsport Studio Said To Be 'Bracing' For Job Cuts At Xbox
@Kaloudz it’s never going to do anything ‘new’ that’s track racers for you.
But there’s very few of these type of games out there so it’s certainly worth Xbox keeping it around.
Re: Forza Motorsport Studio Said To Be 'Bracing' For Job Cuts At Xbox
Well they did say they were looking at Europe for distribution so good chance studios be affected over this way.
Unfortunately FM missed the mark this time round, but MS don’t have any other game like this so it would be a shame if it closes/job losses
Re: PS Plus Has 'Surpassed Expectations' Since Becoming More Like Xbox Game Pass
@Millionski nobody in their right mind would claim them to be similar.
They both offer different perspectives of a sub service. Both have value and both have a place.
Re: PS Plus Has 'Surpassed Expectations' Since Becoming More Like Xbox Game Pass
How did you come to the conclusion that it’s become more like gamepass. Even including what was actually said.
Pretty sure the no plans to offer day 1 titles is massively different to the selling point of gamepass.
Re: Report: Xbox Suffering Major Layoffs Next Week, Microsoft Declines To Comment
@Kaloudz funny as you say everyone who is criticising MS for layoffs are always full of doom and gloom.
Yet the same handful that defend whatever MS do are guess what here defending MS again.
It is ok to be critical. And have a more rounded view of everything. MS don’t need you to defend them 24/7.
Re: Death Stranding 2 Debuts To Impressive Reviews Ahead Of Hopeful Xbox Release
@Titntin apparently pretty much Xbox only players don’t really want it reading these commemts
Re: Don't Like The New Xbox Game Hubs? Here's How To Turn Them Off
These things should be a turn on rather than a turn off.
You have awesome things like quick resume then silly things like this added and adverts.
Re: Reaction: Xbox's Next-Gen News Is Exciting, But It Also Leaves More Questions Than Answers
@General-Foley the ally is going to be £550-600 for lower one and £900ish for the higher spec. (If I remember right)
I worry that this PC hybrid is going to be north of £1k
Re: Reaction: Xbox's Next-Gen News Is Exciting, But It Also Leaves More Questions Than Answers
It certainly is interesting and exciting (of what it could be) as someone into the hobby. but the devil will always be the price of this.
Because who is it for if it’s a ‘PC lite.’ PC players are unlikely to change over.
PS players are ingrained into the eco system now.
Are casuals going to want a mini PC? Rather than a ‘plug and go ps6’ (assuming it is? Especially as MS games are on PS.
And then potentially compete with themselves with a handheld too?
Lots of questions but a lot could change in the next what 28momths?
Re: Xbox Emphasises That Its Next-Gen Devices 'Aren't Locked To A Single Store'
Be interesting to see what appears.
I just hope they go for one console spec. I think going for two would be confusing.
Re: Talking Point: Would You Like To See A New Type Of Forza Game In 2026?
If there’s a new horizon then I hope it doesn’t just throw cars at you from the off. I’d like it to be a little more rewarding.
Re: Hands On: Not Gonna Lie, I'm Enjoying MindsEye On Xbox Right Now
Ah excellent a praising article until you say it’s not worth the price.
Let’s stop giving developers any easy way out. Call it what it is game is a mess.
Let’s not encourage more devs to get away with releasing games in this state eh?
Re: Final Fantasy 16 Delivers Great FPS But 'Weird' Visuals On Xbox Series X
@Kaloudz @Coletrain as always there’s excuses for people not supporting it. Then they wonder why square take the money Sony offers them.
All people often say is it’s great SE are going to support Xbox. Looking forward to FF etc.
Then it transpires that unless it’s on Game it doesn’t actually sell
Re: Final Fantasy 16 Delivers Great FPS But 'Weird' Visuals On Xbox Series X
@Coletrain considering SE thought 3million in the first week was bad over on PS5. Then 22000 isn’t really worth their time or effort.
