We've passed the halfway point of 2024 now, and we're very much looking ahead to what's in store for us during the latter part of the year. There are absolutely tons of fantastic-looking games on the horizon, but we'd probably still single out Bethesda's Indiana Jones and the Great Circle as our most highly-anticipated Xbox release.
And yeah, we highly doubt we're alone in that. This is a fantastic-looking adventure game from the geniuses that created the most recent Wolfenstein games, so it seems to be in great hands. There are some question marks over whether it actually will release in 2024 or whether it'll get delayed, but it shouldn't be far off in either case.
Interestingly, we ran a poll about the date back in 2021 that appears to be turning out pretty accurate!

In recent weeks, we've been treated to fresh footage of Indiana Jones and the Great Circle courtesy of the Xbox Games Showcase, and it's looking better than ever each time it makes an appearance. Even the tiny clips look great!
So, let's use this opportunity to see just how hyped the Pure Xbox community is for Indiana Jones on Xbox Series X and Xbox Series S. Is it your most anticipated game of the year? Maybe you don't have any interest in it at all?

It's my most anticipated xbox game this year.
My most anticipated game this year definitely, but I’m honestly expecting it to be delayed to Q1 2025.
I’m not convinced by the trailers yet. It looks okay, but I have no clue how the gameplay will be and that will be the deciding factor.
Really hyped for it. I love the recent Wolfenstein games as they knock it out the park in terms of being fun. I’m sure Machine Games can do it again.
I am in the not hyped right now but willing to give it a chance category.
Not getting hyped until near release as I expect a delay to 2025 and also I need to see more game and reviews when released.
I’m sitting at 50/50 right now.
I’m struggling to get hyped about most games nowadays and from the summer showcase the only game that hit hard and you now what you are getting is Doom by ID.
I'm cautiously optimistic. The gameplay I've seen has yet to WoW me. The cutscenes are good. But very Indy Jones Schtick.
not a fan of first person, but will try it
Currently neutral, but that’s just me for most games. There’s very few that I get excited for a long time in advance. Plus I’m not a massive Indiana Jones fan.
I am looking forward to the review and seeing how it releases. Hopefully it releases well and it’s a fun game to play regardless if you like Indy or not
I'm looking forward to it because it's Indiana Jones but disappointed that it's not a 3rd person action adventure game like Tomb Raider or Uncharted.
It’s my most hyped game on Xbox for 2024 and I have more faith in it than Avowed.
I'm excited for it.
It's my most anticipated game from any publisher this year. I love the 1st person perspective.
I think Avowed should be the big game of the year if it lives up to the expectations we can expect from the geniuses at Obsidian.
But after Avowed, I think Indiana Jones can be another great one, I had a really good time with Wolfenstein 2, so I expect something similar from Indiana.
The cutscenes look amazing everything else looks meh! Hopefully I'm wrong but at least the story should be good!
Really not my kind of game, but I'll give it a go if I find some time. Camera perspective aside, this genre is exactly why I dont feel like I've missed much skipping that other console's last 3 systems, I find it totally unchallenging and uninteresting.
Not hyped at all. Watching that really boring combat of 1st person punching & first person whip-combat is staggeringly uninteresting.
Going from Wolfenstein shooter combat to this is the most disappointing thing I can imagine.
Not intetested. I've never really been a fan of MachineGames work or Indian Jones. But I have Gamepass so I'll still give it a shot.
I am really excited about it, but how will I hear when it is released? Microsoft has no money for things like advertising! /s
I'm pretty excited about this, since the story has looked good in the cutscenes they have shown. But you can count me as another person who thinks this gets delayed to next year.
Having grown up with the original Indiana Jones trilogy and also having played through the recent Wolfenstein games I am both very excited and also convinced that this will be the best Xbox exclusive since hmmm ever? Tough to beat the original Halo I suppose and some great Gears of War entries (not a big motor racing fan) but I think it'll be up there. I'm hoping for another Uncharted/Tomb Raider esque adventure but with enough to set it apart and be it's own future classic.
Definitely not my most anticipated game of the year, but still looking forward to it and hope for a disc release as well.
Can’t say much. We haven’t seen enough footage I feel. But I liked what I saw so far.
I have no interest in it but I am looking forward to seeing the reception to the game when it comes out.
Not getting my hopes up after several of the games I was really looking forward to being delayed time and time again only to be major disappointments.
There's plenty of good games around but most often they end up being games that weren't even on my radar.
Excited for it just wish they would show off more gameplay and announce a damn release date, ***** like this is getting old.
Super excited by the prospect of a new MachineGames title, all but zero excitement for it being Indiana Jones...and that's coming from a 43 year old white dude...pretty much the exact demographic the IP is laser-targeted at.
Honestly, I think making a AAA marquee Indiana Jones game NOW is a massive waste of time, money, resources and the devs at MachineGames' immense talents.
Zero, really. Never watched an Indiana Jones movie, and I don't normally like first person games so I'm definitely not the target audience.
For a first person janky graphics I’ll try it but the style Bethesda uses seems outdated to me
I was more hyped before the price hike and no-day-one tier. Now I’m asking if I even need games day one.
It’s also not a favorite genre or favorite dev. And I’m used to being disappointed by Indy. Last time an Indy product really made my day was like 1992!
Machinegames have always had really sloppy shooting, even since they were Starbreeze. If they nail the atmosphere, it will be a good time, I'm sure.
I don't get 'excited' or hyped anymore for games having been disappointed too many times as the game fails to live up to the expectation. That being said, it is one of the Games I'm looking forward to this year - more so than Avowed or MSFS 2024 for example.
The difference with Games is that even if the Graphics look amazing in trailers, the Game-play loop or something else can really impact the experience. You have no idea how it 'feels' to play, how responsive it is. So even if it 'looks' amazing, it can still 'disappoint' in so many ways...
Therefore I dont get overly excited or hyped for any game these days. I'm happy to wait until its released for reviews, even wait for months until patches and/or additional content is available etc. I don't need to play Day 1 as I have 100's of games I could play instead. GPU may let me Play day 1, but it may not be the 'best' time to try it...
I could be too busy enjoying something else at the time, something else that is occupying all my gaming time that I want to finish before I start something else...
This looks OK - although I do think something looks 'off' too with the lighting. Some things look quite realistically lit but that makes some of the Character lighting look even worse, but there is time to 'polish'. Like I said, none of us know what it 'feels' like to play yet either...
Yes, it's not difficult, I'm personally not a fan of Indiana Jones ,I'm not saying the game won't be great game , I'm just not a fan of Indiana Jones , so not hyped .
I'm excited but I do feel like it's going to disappointment me and it'll be my fault.
For reasons I'm not sure off I am expecting a dishonoured stay immersive sim.
I was skeptical of the first person view in Indy, but the gameplay trailers have won me over. I expect a solid 8.0 to 8.5 game. Don't expect it to be generation defining. They are using their tried and tested game engine. The engine has proven solid and flexible with Wolfenstein.
I'm passed getting hyped for games but I do look forward to Indy (& Astrobot on PS). Was a bit surprised we were getting this one in 2024 tbh, so hopefully no delays!
Not for me. Pinning my hopes on Fable and Avowed. And waiting on TES6.
I’m excited for it to get a PS5 port
I have tempered my expectations. I will be pleasantly surprised if it comes out in 2024. Definitely looking forward to it.
Mildly! I'll be looking to see how it reviews before deciding whether the game warrants my time. I'm hoping it is a great game, but what I've seen of it thus far does not fill me with hope. Really would like to be wrong though...
Never found any appeal in the character or movies, so definitely a pass for me.
Someday I'll get Wolfenstein 3, someday...
Edit: also, I'm so sick of these super talented studios making safe, licensed games instead of being let do their own thing.
I'm still salty that Arkane is being wasted on that stupid Blade game nobody asked for, and doesn't even look a good fit for them.
First Redfall and the closure of the Austin studio, now this, I guess Arkane will never be back to making it's usual GOAT material.
And to think I was so hopeful they would have a lot of creative freedom under Xbox, silly me.
I’m very excited for this game. Love the movies and I think this game will fit in nicely with his adventures. Looking forward to playing this one.
Love the look of this. Just hope it’s as good as I think it’ll be!
Quite excited. I've never watched an Indy movie so planning to watch them all before the game releases.
Not that hyped tbf. The decision to make it first person is quite the turn off... And everything I saw looked fairly bland. Now that I quit the auto-renewal for GP I am not this os the one that will make me come back for the month
I'm on the fence about 1st person gameplay. It doesn't look right somehow, but I hope to be convinced once we can play.
It's a good looking game and bound to have some great set pieces, so I hope I feel involved. Fingers crossed that this one delivers!
I'm more hyped for Avowed to be honest. But I loved everything I've seen of Indiana Jones so far and I can't wait to play it!
I'm selling these fine leather jackets...
I was interested until I found out Sweet Baby was involved. And in one of the videos for the game mentioned that it was Indiana Jones "for modern audiences" which indicates there's probably a pretty heavy DEI push in the game. I'll wait and see.
