Many on PS would wait a year. They already have their PS games released in that year to play…. Then the Xbox games, that will have been patched and so on.

As much as some people don’t want it, games will go to PS. You can see it in everything that is said (and often unsaid).

Remove ABK and revenue was down 4% (or what has been worked out). MS constantly saying they expect console sales to slow (despite potential new SKU’s) Gamepass figures were stalling.

All in all MS are a trillion $ company. They want to make more money (when is enough ever enough?) and MS can see putting it on PS works out financially. So games will go there. Maybe a year later, maybe 6months, maybe even some day 1.

@awp69 will drop within a couple of months. Sports games generally do.

@LX_FENIX that’s the whole point of DF to do a deep dive, compare the games on a level that pretty much no other site does.

You may not be interested in the technical stuff but plenty are and it’s great to have the information.

Most people who aren’t that interested just ignore it. Like I would do for many things I’m not interested in

Don’t try hiding the fact that a term often banded around is ‘good enough for Gamepass’ which is often a dig at the game.

You read good for gamepass, and many immediately think it’s average. And not worth buying. Hiding what appears by most reviews a good game.

Unfortunately that’s how it is.

I am loaded and ready to play. I’m glad it’s turned out solid.

It’s like saying the game is only good enough for gamepass and not to buy (should you not have GP)

It’s an 8 for me. Solid, sets up a future season.

Few dodgy bits, like when maximus floats down in his suit, may as well have had the wires visible! And honestly in a good cast, the guy who plays maximus is not great for me.

@Fiendish-Beaver it is/has been on PSextra, so there’s a potential of it coming to GPU.

Considering you have Ubisoft asking £130 already for some editions. (And many other digital editions £80+) it’s a bit much.

Plus cost of living, gaming is doing very well in revenue terms. Even with people getting more chooses.

And are any games actually really releasing in a perfect state to warrant this? If games actually released pretty much bug free and so on, maybe more will buy at full price. And then won’t need tips!

Needs to be simplified and all the bleeding ads removed.

85-94 for score range. It will look stunning, it will run well, it will be praised by critics.

But I think player base won’t rate it quite as high because it’s a very slow game etc. it won’t have the scope of DD2 or rebirth or infinite wealth to name a recent few.

The Xbox bias is nonsense however.

Edit - I do expect it to win visual awards and probably sound awards too.

@awp69 for the UK version however it’s a £2 increase. Like you say probably won’t increase it, but clarity would be good

So A on release? AA a year later, AAA after 2 years, AAAA when dlc releases and AAAAA 3 years later?

The tech leap probably means something around cloud based things would be my guess.

Most gamers would probably agree the biggest tech leap was from snes to n64/ps. 2d to 3d.

There’s not much else that can be such a big leap unless it’s around something smaller like audio.

Everyone with abit of common sense understood these would not be the only 4.

I’m not saying everything will head ps/switch direction but I think you will certainly see more move over.

but if I’m buying it day 1 for £60-70 then I’m more likely leaning for something that is a little meatier.

If it’s £30-40 then I don’t mind shorter day 1.

I’ve played games from short indies to hundreds of hours on stuff like monster hunter. If a game is good all is fine with me.

Forgot all about this game, did have a fun week with it however

Normally I’m an advocate that the game should give people options.

However for such a slow paced, walking, puzzle sim I don’t think it being 30fps is such a big issue

I don’t think anyone will be surprised that it looks visually stunning, it has done all the way through.

Hopefully for those who enjoyed the first one this one is even better.

I think most reasonable people took it as it would mean Epic/Xbox/Sony and so forth.

Indies have some great gems in amongst them. But service providers will have a lot of information on them now to see play levels etc.

And most gamers aren’t signing up to subscription services for indie games

@Markatron84 they won’t do a big dump of ABK games I’d suspect, more likely to be one or two a month to help pad out new additions.

Generally people do not subscribe to GPU for indies. It’s just not what will attract the majority.

Sure MS need some to pad the service, and some will strike gold like Palworld. But MS will cut back on them to increase profits, and most likely replace them slowly with the ABK back catalogue.

@LX_FENIX this is years after release, so yeah they may as well.

Plus for smaller developers it’s a case of priorities and that usually means the biggest install base comes first, then if it does well enough it will move to other platforms. They will have far far more data than us and know what a similar games sales are and so on.

If there is a good return to be made on their investment they would release no questions.

@BacklogBrad but for the average consumer is it going to be more appealing than the series S? The S will probably be what £100 cheaper too?

For most price is a bigger factor rather than it can do 6billion frames or has ninety Terraflops.

I’m not really interested, happy with the S.

However if they did some kind of upgrade path from an S to it - like guaranteed you would get X amount to trade in your S - I would be tempted.

But currently as the second hand price of the series console is on its ar*e it’s not worth the upgrade.

That aside I just wish Microsoft would be actually clear with what their strategy is going forward rather than rumours, back tracks, conversation that say more than is actually being said.

Potentially going more software route as that is where the bigger money is. But IF true it would be a shame.

But with a rumoured handheld, that would be 3 devices/specs any 3rd party developer would have to get it running on. And that’s costly if it isn’t going to make much of a RoI

Celebrating a phone game making $1.5million is starting to scrape the barrel a little.

@Martsmall somebody who gets it. People thinking MS (or Sony or whoever) do this out of the goodness of their own heart is crazy.

Plus they don’t factor in their time to get these ‘free’ rewards - for those able to work an extra hour a month it is far more efficient to do that.

That’s not to say it was a bad feature or anything but that there is far more to it.

@Sol4ris I totally agree it should be done to all. But until sites start taking it up it will keep happening and it’s becoming more frequent (pushsquare have made a note of it in their review)

@GamingFan4Lyf because it was a part of the game that was withheld from reviewers, to inflate the score. Because every publisher knows that MTX brings with it negative tones to a review and score.

Is pure Xbox going to change the review score to reflect this?

Played it earlier in the year on ps plus ( and the quarry previously) evil west is a solid 7/10. The quarry I just didn’t gel with at all.

Will try and have a look at ark tho at some point
