Re: Obsidian Says Avowed Is Running 'Really, Really Well' On Xbox Series X, Despite 30FPS Target

PsBoxSwitchOwner

@Jenkinss Square isn’t a first party studio. So that’s why they get less criticism. Bethesda/obsidian/santa Monica or whoever are.

New space marine 2 is a 3rd party game. That has a 60 option. What’s wrong with giving consumers a choice? If people want to play at 60 with reduced quality then give them the option - as most are aware what they are sacrificing

Re: Black Myth: Wukong Xbox Delay Reportedly Tied To PS5 'Exclusivity Deal'

PsBoxSwitchOwner

@Fiendish-Beaver but if it had nothing to do with getting it running on Series consoles. Why haven’t Microsoft come out and said that the statement was a lie?

Surely MS would come out and say something on it. Because it is damaging if it is untrue.

As I’ve said I wouldn’t put it past So y to have made a deal, but when Nvidea also have one plus everything else around it. For me it doesn’t add up.

Re: Black Myth: Wukong Xbox Delay Reportedly Tied To PS5 'Exclusivity Deal'

@Sol4ris nobody would be shocked.

I wouldn’t have been shocked had Sony said they had exclusivity. It’s something Sony is well known for. Something Sony admits when they do.

But would you say this ‘deal’ is like every other Sony exclusivity deal?

And imo it would be probably slightly better for Xbox it being Sony that have paid rather than it being issues with the S.

Re: Black Myth: Wukong Xbox Delay Reportedly Tied To PS5 'Exclusivity Deal'

If it’s true (and I don’t believe it is) it has to be one of the worst ever signed exclusivity deals in history.

0 marketing to say console exclusive.

0 showing of it on a ps5

Everything prior to release was all about Nvidea including them giving the game away when making certain purchases.

And the fact most sales have turned out in China and on PC makes the ‘deal’ even worse.

Also wasn’t it reported that Game science said they hadn’t passed Xbox scrutiny of the game back in June (maybe a different game) - apologies it was. Rumour.

https://www.purexbox.com/news/2024/08/rumour-black-myth-wukong-memory-leak-has-caused-xbox-series-xs-delay

Oh and then the rumour just happens to leak on the same day Obsidian say they are still figuring out avowed on the S.

(I also believe far more people will believe this rumour because it’s anti Sony even though we are constantly told not to believe these ‘insiders’)

@Fiendish-Beaver sorry I didn’t mean you. I meant in general the people who post here most likely have the good tvs who want the options and quite rightly be disappointed when they don’t get the options.

I get your point about Elden ring (personally I don’t notice too much between 30/60 so not a deal breaker) but this is also a first party release. Yet again that can’t seem to have a 60fps option available at launch. So why can’t first party games hit it?

Re: Talking Point: What Did You Think Of Gamescom 2024 Overall?

PsBoxSwitchOwner

@BAMozzy ah yes. The free GPU that is £180 per year? To get the day 1 stuff. Always peddling that nonsense.

How is Indy/stalker/doom going to sell subs/hardware when anyone who owns a ps5 (and not an Xbox) doesn’t now need to sub/buy into Xbox to play these games? The math doesn’t add up - especially as all the available figures show Series consoles plummeting fast, growth in subscription is stagnant.

Re: Talking Point: Does Microsoft Have A '30FPS' Problem With Its Xbox Series X|S Output?

PsBoxSwitchOwner

It doesn’t bother me tbh.

But im always of the opinion that there should be the choice. Because of modern tvs etc.

And as mentioned Phil/Greenburg have quoted about things releasing at 60fps.

If other companies can give the option then why can’t MS on their own platform?at release? Especially when they seem to be able to add it at a later date, starfield for instance.

Re: Indiana Jones And The Great Circle Is Playable Three Days Early With Xbox Game Pass Upgrade

@Weebleman unfortunately ‘gamers’ are largely fools and easily parted with their money.

Look how many preorder digital games. Yet we have proof after proof that games release needing a patch or two.

Many obviously buy this stuff or else it wouldn’t be available.

Personally I’ll wait for reviews, see the technical state and then potentially play day 4 or wait for a patch or two.

Re: Phil Spencer On Game Exclusivity: 'We Have To Anticipate There's Going To Be More Change'

PsBoxSwitchOwner

At this point you may as well just put since we announced day 1 games, our subscription hasn’t increased as we expected, so we are going to make money elsewhere.

It’s all about money. No other reason. If Xbox had the Sony/nintendo user base there would be no discussion about things on other platforms.

Sony again have no reason to put it on Xbox. Because Sony would have to specifically deal with the series S. they don’t have that issue on their own console.

They haven’t even chosen to release concord on Xbox and my god will that need the players.

Re: Reaction: Indiana Jones And The Great Circle's PS5 Announcement Marks A Bold Step For Xbox

PsBoxSwitchOwner

@BacklogBrad and don’t be so naive that once some games have gone, the rest won’t follow. In Feb Phil said Indiana jones wasn’t going to ps5, by August it is.

Fanboys said no games will come, rumours are a lie, they then said it’s only 4 old games no big ones will, now doom and Indy are announced it’s ’they won’t let any Xbox franchises like halo go’. Yet slowly they are being disproved.

A trajectory has started and we can all see where it’s going.

The incentive to own an Xbox is dropping daily. It’s also backed up by figures. Sales are tumbling. It’s not hyperbole it’s not railing on MS it is what is happening.

It’s not harming MS bottom line at all. They get more money doing this, it’s 100% understandable. They can do away with expensive hardware R&D, losing money on each console etc. but it harms us enthusiasts. Sony being the only manufacturer is not good.

Sure there’s Play anywhere but it’s currently just not as good to do.

Re: Reaction: Indiana Jones And The Great Circle's PS5 Announcement Marks A Bold Step For Xbox

PsBoxSwitchOwner

@demian for argument sake.

Series X (I won’t use an S which is a good console but because comparisons should be like for like) is £480 GPU is £15 a month (I also won’t use rewards/3rd party sellers because it’s too variable) so £180 per year. You would assume most people stay subbed to GPU pretty much yearly.

So so far this generation it’s £480. + £600 for GPU (I’ve lowered the figure because it’s not been £15 a month yet) so £1080.

If I already have a ps5 I could buy 18 Xbox first party games for the cost of buying a second console and GPU. That’s without waiting for a discount.

Yes GPU offers more than just first party but over the course of a generation most games end up on GP and Plus. And obviously to savvy customers there are 3rd party sites etc, but this is slowly vanishing in value.

Re: Reaction: Indiana Jones And The Great Circle's PS5 Announcement Marks A Bold Step For Xbox

I’ve said it elsewhere but I think Microsoft/xbox will do a rebranding at the end of this cycle.

I think it will just become Microsoft gaming and do away with the Xbox term.

I can understand why they are doing it. Because money. It’s the one and only answer.

It’s just (as always) a mess. Consumers don’t know where they stand. Fans don’t know what’s happening. So much rumour. So much negative press.

I just wonder how a multi trillion dollar company can operate so hap hazard.

Re: Former Xbox Exec Defends Phil Spencer's Recent Decisions As Head Of Xbox

PsBoxSwitchOwner

@cragis0001 but with MS prioritising GP/play anywhere. What audience would Sony actually have by releasing on Xbox?

By the time you take several million off the total, for those who own multiple consoles or a PC. Take a huge chunk more from people who wouldn’t want the game. Those who wait for a sale or only have Xbox for GP.

What’s left? Is it financially worth it? Hell they aren’t even doing it with w**k games like Concord.

Plus then Sony would HAVE to make it work on a series S which is an issue they don’t have with PS. It’s a lot trickier for Sony to release on Xbox than the other way round.
