Re: Talking Point: Do You Think This Generation Will Be A Short One?

PsBoxSwitchOwner

Considering most stuff still releases on the previous generation I just can’t see it happening.

I don’t think an early release would massively boost MS and subscription etc. because most 3rd party games would focus the bigger market of PS/series console.

(Although an unneeded PsPro console may help MS bridge a generation gap) has the tech advanced enough to make a cheap enough next gen console that has a big enough advantage?

@BAMozzy great it’s an option to play anywhere (yet we know from data that people just aren’t because subs etc are not growing.)

How many casuals know play anywhere is an option? How many parents who aren’t necessarily tech savvy know a fire stick can play Xbox games?

Very few will.

Guess why? Oh yes no advertisements about it. No ads for game pass etc. unless you read gaming sites you just won’t know.

Re: Sony PlayStation 'Regrettably Outspends Us', Says Xbox EMEA Marketing Boss

@BAMozzy sonys marketing budget has nothing to do with what they put on a sub service.

Spending 200m on a game, then dropping it on a sub service is just not financially sustainable or viable for Sony. They haven’t got the capital. The amount of sub increases required to make that money back is not achievable.

Xbox don’t advertise and look what is happening sales dropping all over. So no advertisement is actively harming them more than the competition. Subs aren’t growing either.

What you have talked about is just made up nonsense. Proved by real world evidence.

@themightyant what you say is true.

Plus this is a meaningless statistic. Because plenty of people try a game and bounce off after 30mins because of subscription models, yet are still counted as a player.

Usually companies stretch to different statistics because by usual measures it’s not doing as well as expected.

Not to mention there is 30mil (approx) GP subscribers. Plus sales on PC. I’d fully agree it’s probably not done as well as hoped. ( and in a personal opinion part of the reason the multi platform is happening)

@CERBERUS40000 it’s not free.

Anything you have to get beyond what you are naturally getting by playing the game has a time cost.

In the UK I can guarantee that it costs far more in time that what it does to earn that £12. Of course you have to be in a job that does overtime or whatever.

But still MS has th best reward program, and I’ve got 100k ish saved up. But it’s just now far less rewarding.

@NEStalgia where is Phil these days? He’s done what one interview in the last few months? The one around the state of play. He’s normally very vocal, it’s like he’s being pushed behind the scenes.

They are totally lost on strategy at the minute, just hoping something will stick. Of course we are never going to be told everything but some communication on goals, growth business plans are helpful (as most companies announce) rather than flip flopping and making decisions based on that days weather.

Re: Rumour: Day One Releases Delayed On A 'Case-By-Case Basis' For Xbox Game Pass Standard Tier

PsBoxSwitchOwner

@NEStalgia thing that gets me is Sony have stumbled so much this gen.

Like you said £70 games, increase in their PS subs, this switch to live service/low game output. Increasing console prices.

Yet MS still hasn’t taken any advantage of this. They have just followed suit (outside of live service). They could have had so much goodwill, with a cheaper console and cheaper games.

But they can’t even get the ‘bad’ news out right, it’s always drawn out with rumours swirling. It’s 2 days since price rise and still they haven’t clarified anything, yet they must know what’s being said on gaming sites/media. Why let the flames fan?

At least Sony just come out with it and say prices are going up. This is our sun service or whatever. And that’s that. No messing.

@BAMozzy

Simple answer.

Sony DO NOT have day 1 games as it’s unique selling point. Hence no questions on when it will come.

Ms has day 1 games as it’s unique selling point.

Well maybe it does. Maybe it doesn’t. MS released new tiers. Announced price changes etc…. Without exactly saying what you will get for your money.

Sony also weren’t the first to raise to $70. MS didn’t have to follow either. But if you want to keep peddling false information as you did in another thread. Go for it.

Re: Reaction: Microsoft's Constant Tweaking Of Xbox Game Pass Is Becoming Exhausting

PsBoxSwitchOwner

@NEStalgia I think Xbox are just stuck. Throwing things at the wall and hoping something will stick.

In the last year alone…

2 GPU price rises.
New/change tiers.
Early access charges for day 1 (day 5) gpgames
70billion on ABK (with currently little to show in GPU additions).
Games on competition consoles.

And nothing is working. Sales are down. Subscriptions are levelling.

So what do they try next? I really don’t think they know. They are so used to outspending the competition and it’s not working currently.

Re: Xbox Game Pass Changes Partly Because Microsoft 'Isn't Seeing Strong Growth', Claims Analyst

PsBoxSwitchOwner

@Jark and all you need to do is research online and what this guy says is pretty much true.

All the info is out there that subs are stagnating (PS too not just Xbox). Xbox has consistently missed its growth targets, to the point where Phil and Satya (I think) missed bonuses around this.

So much like Disney/Netflix etc once saturation point is hit, you milk the existing customers (ms nerfing rewards/price increase) Netflix (password sharing/price rise).

Sony will follow suit with a price rise within 3 months - now one has done it the other can.

Re: Microsoft Provides More Detail On Its New Xbox Game Pass Standard Tier

PsBoxSwitchOwner

@BAMozzy @Godot25 I replied that because @BAMozzy said extra doesn’t get day 1 games.when since both you have said they do. So what was quoted was wrong. (As I said it was barely any)

Premium doesn’t give day 1 over extra. Nor does it give day 1 Sony games. Or get Sony games before extra.

If people are going to compare then they have to do it correct not make stuff up.

Re: Xbox Game Pass Gets Price Increases And New 'Standard' Subscription Tier

PsBoxSwitchOwner

@Scirius depends how you look at it.

Ps5 v X same price. PSPremium £120 v GPU ultimate £180. However you can often pick up 12months of premium for £60ish. Ms don’t do sales on GPU but they do let you buy from key sellers (currently). Xbox has rewards that is better than Ps stars. GPU has day 1, premium has more games.

The value is extremely similar. For comparison of as much alike as possible.

Of course there is then the cheaper series S or play over fire stick etc
