Black Myth: Wukong has quite a bit of hype behind its impending August release, and the team's final trailer isn't doing much to help us feel any less left out. If you're unaware, the Xbox version of Black Myth has been delayed indefinitely - meaning this final look at the game is more a massive tease than anything else right now.
Still, Game Science's epic action RPG is still coming to Xbox Series X|S at some stage, so we thought we'd bring you this last glimpse at the title before it arrives on PS5 and PC - and on Xbox further down the line.
"Black Myth: Wukong is an action RPG rooted in Chinese mythology. You shall set out as the Destined One to venture into the challenges and marvels ahead, to uncover the obscured truth beneath the veil of a glorious legend from the past."
Back at Summer Game Fest in June, we went hands on with Black Myth: Wukong and were hugely impressed by what the team is serving up here. Despite the delay happening right around the time of this preview, we weren't put off at all - going as far as labelling it a "transformative action RPG" that "could potentially be in the running for GOTY" in 2024.
It goes without saying, then, that we'll be keen to hear what folks think of the final version of Black Myth: Wukong later this month. If it's as impressive as our hands-on summer preview, we'll be waiting patiently for the game's arrival on Xbox Series X and S in the hopefully near future.
Are you still excited for Black Myth: Wukong to come to Xbox? Tell us what you think of this 'Final Trailer' down below.

Is it another case, of the Series S version not being optimized yet?
I don't mind waiting. We'll probably get a version with some patches and less bugs.
@Steel76 I just think its Sony money. This week some infos came out that it seems to be very well optimized on PS5 and comes with a 60fps mode.
So that is really good news for console players.
Yeah sure
$$$$Optimized$$$$
It looks good maybe it won’t actually play as well. I really think we need to see reviews.
@Chaotic_Goat if they are focusing one console, surely you would expect it to be well optimised?
I believe it's not an optimization issue, just Sony's money and influence at the Asian market.
Anyway, for me that's fair, that's what competition is and I hope MS try to fight back. Search for the next big 3rd party release, use the infinite money to make a temporary exclusive deal and let the studio say "We will release on PS later because we're focused releasing the best experience... whatever".
@Chaotic_Goat It's pretty doubtful that Sony is paying for exclusivity, seeing as they haven't been involved in marketing this at all. The idea that Sony dropped a truckload of money to delay an Xbox release and isn't taking advantage of advertising it is laughable.
This is either an issue getting the game running on the Series S, or just a small studio not having the resources to focus on both PS and Xbox releases at the same time.
Looks very nice but all that glitters is not gold.
Let’s see the reviews first before we decided we are missing out on something.
I see people still believe that billion or trillion dollar companies are angels of pureness and innocence. Bless their little innocent hearts.
@Steel76 Game science did announce that the game needed futher optimisation for the series consoles, but did not explicitly say that it was on the S only. Given that the situation with the SS has cropped up a few times however, it would not be surprising if it was the issue.
As usual however some people are refusing to believe Game Science and assuming that they are just covering for Sony throwing money around, which is embarrassing and laughable.
Is it still coming? I thought the last thing they said was that it was delayed indefinitely? So there's a chance it may never actually get ported.
@Foxx_64740 It’s more that there’s no real evidence to say Sony paid for exclusivity and the only two sources of information we have on the subject are the developers themselves and Jez Corden.
History tells us that if Sony bought exclusivity they would be shouting about it from the rooftops, including it in state of plays and throwing out bus sized adverts saying “console exclusive”. History also tells us that at least two developers (Larian and Remedy) have publicly admitted to having trouble optimising for Series S (no idea if that’s the case here but we all know there is form for it).
Obviously you are free to believe what you want but to me, the simplest and most logical answer is that Game Science has prioritised PS5 and MS has put out a vague, non-commital statement to Jez Corden in order to deflect from the problems whilst drumming up some free anti Sony rhetoric. Until any of the core parties involved comes out and explicitly says that it is a timed exclusive, it is just a conspiracy theory.
@WhiteRabbit If they were right, and they are so convinced they are, then why would MS not have just put out a clear cut statement saying as much.
People now are so eager to believe the fanciful if it fits their narrative.
I’m looking forward to this but it’ll have to be special for it to beat stellar blade as my current GOTY.
Guys. Sony did not moneyhat this game. This is definitely an optimization issue and especially because of the Series S. If it was Sony moneyhatting , they would make that clear.
I wouldn't buy it anyway.
@GeeEssEff okay, you have convinced me.
Looks great hopefully lives up to its potential
@WhiteRabbit it's not a made up narrative when MS themselves hinted toward it. Either way purexbox got what it wanted with this bait article.
Gods, I'm not being skipped again this time around, I'll buy this game on Steam (or my PS5 if the PC port turns out to be poor). It sucks, but if Microsoft doesn't care for their console market -they're too busy chasing PC and Cloud and mobile-, why should developers care? I can understand why we're not a priority for Game Sciencie: we're not even a priority for Microsoft. Oh well.
@Foxx_64740 depends what you consider fair. These deals cost Sony a small fraction of what they would cost MS.
