So, we've given you all a couple of days to try out the Crash Bandicoot N. Sane Trilogy on Xbox Game Pass, and now we're keen to hear your thoughts on this classic remastered collection from a few years ago!
Here at Pure Xbox, we're big fans of it — this writer waxed lyrical about the game earlier in the week - and it ultimately ended up proving a massive success in terms of sales, so clearly Vicarious Visions and Activision did a lot right here.
That said, it's not like the N. Sane Trilogy is without its critics. A lot of people just aren't fans of the platforming style that was implemented in those early Crash games, and the N. Sane Trilogy doesn't really attempt to rectify anything... it's simply a remastered / remade version of the first three Crash titles, warts and all.
With that in mind, we're interested to know how you're getting on with Crash Bandicoot on Xbox Game Pass so far. Have you found yourself pleasantly surprised, or perhaps a little disappointed? Let us know down below.

It’s superb. In many ways, its quirks and faults and differences to Mario and Sonic are what makes it stand out.
Live them all and going through the 1st game so far.
Crash Bandicoot 2 is definitely my favourite.
I baught it on release and i thought id cake walk it because i did as a child. I was wrong!.
I'm a souls veteran, I thrive on difficulty but that one level in crash1 with the bridge. Oh my days!! Definitely harder than i remember. Maybe because im older and my quickness has gone
More challenging than I remember, but fun nonetheless.
Bought it soon as it came out but it's awesome 😎also same for spyro trilogy when that comes
Purchased years ago on Xbox.
Waste of space on GPU for me being honest.
As for the three games they are ok, nothing special for nowadays and nostalgia in games always seems better in the mind.
All the crash games are great can't wait for them all to be released on gamepass as I already own the trilogy
I would say it’s as good as it was when released.
It being on GP makes no difference.
I have never played any Crash game and still have no interest in trying them.
I have no interest in the franchise but I hope folks that are interested have some fun
Wouldn't play them even for free, but that's just me.
I know this is gonna sound off the wall, but I enjoyed the crash games on GBA more then I ever liked the ps1 games, and I’m 40 now
It's a great remaster in the sense of them replicating the original games but as someone who played Mario 64 before these back then, I was never a huge fan but still enjoyed them.
Back to the remasters themselves and I was always disappointed that this, Spyro and CTR were only 30fps games. It'd crazy that Nintendo make Mario Kart and Odyssey at 60fps on Switch and then these are lower fps on the more powerful consoles
Same thing I thought when I played it 6 years ago when it came out. It's a'ight. Not the best of modern remakes. Don't really see how a six year old game is newsworthy. It's unlikely new subscribers will be scrambling over to GP for an old game they can own for a fiver.
Hats off to RE4:R as the king so far of modern remakes. Unless Dino Crisis comes back.
Those games are super hard. Elden Ring is a walk in the park next to Crash Bandicoot. Could not finish those games, but there is fun to be had regardless.
Good games that still hold up. But anybody who had interest already played these and most likely also owns them..
Was never a fan of the game to be honest even back in the PS One era, always preferred Spyro instead.
Seriously these old games should be left alone….dont go back…remake blah blah look forward not back
Even with the coat of paint, Crash 1 has aged poorly. I can forgive the unforgiving difficulty, but the weird clunky physics, the most awkward camera angles, and racist stereotype side characters are some of the worst things that late 90s gaming had to offer.
Loved playing the Remaster Trilogy.. years ago..
It arriving on Game Pass really isn’t the big deal Microsoft thinks it is.
Amazing game but tbh it's now like 7 years old so why is it such a big deal coming to gp when it can be picked up for under 5 bucks pre owned
I actually bought the crash games and Spyro used last year. Soooo to me the best part of them coming to gamepass is gonna be getting points for playing. I mostly haven’t played since I bought them for my kids
Badly outdated.
Looking forward to crash 4, these three haven't aged well at all in my opinion. Are Microsoft even bothering to provide an excuse for not putting all their games on game pass now? It's been over a year since the acquisition, has it not?
Perhaps Pure Xbox could do a bit of journalism and reach out to Microsoft. I'm sure we'd all like to know what their position is regarding their first party catalogue. I was under the impression it was all supposed to be on gamepass but that clearly isn't the case anymore.
@luke88 what first party stuff isn’t on GP? Besides some older ABK stuff? Which they said were going to be added but there’s ’issues around it’.
Yes it’s taking ages, but they are slowly coming.
Overrated af...
Great games and the remasters are excellent. I already have the collection on Switch but it’s a very welcome addition to Game Pass.
@DeanyBabyy the collision detection make it even more difficult than the original games. The original Crash used square hit boxes - the remake has pill shaped hit boxes, so you slip off ledges and miss enemies. It's soooo annoying 😑
Has played it already on PS4, but clearly an absolute fantastic addition to GP.
The remaster fixes what needed to be fixed and kept what didn't... despite people complaining about camera angles and similar.
The Crash Bandicoot series is more about learning patterns and getting better and better at the levels. I put a veteran of the games up against Crash 4, and they had dozens of embarrassing deaths.
If they made a Crash game where there were no frustrating bottomless pits and surprise deaths, it would not be as fun as the OG games.
It's funny how many people are hurt by these games being in Gamepass
@MSX no one’s hurt. We just think Microsoft’s slow drip feed of their catalogue is pathetic and no one has been waiting for crash to be announced to subscribe.
@DeanyBabyy just walk on the rope and you can go through the whole level.
I played it a bit over the weekend and it was good fun, but at the end of the day I don't really like platform games as my reflexes just suck, and I'm not any good at them.
It's not a huge deal it being on GP. People who are into Crash Bandicoot most likely bought it years ago or when it was on sale for like £5. If Xbox want a big GP reaction, they need to drop a load of ABK games onto GP all at once. Like a, "here's what we own, enjoy!" kinda drop. This 1 game at a time nonsense doesn't really hold up. Especially when it's so old.
Today crash seems more of a game I’ll play on switch
Having a blast with this one. A ps1 with the original Crash (and Tomb Raider 2) was the first thing I ever saved up for as a kid so it will always have my vote from a nostalgia standpoint.
Crash3 is objectively the best though.
