Re: Dragon's Dogma 2 Update To Add Frame Rate Cap On Xbox Series X And S

Turning RT off won't do much for FPS as the limitations are linked to the npcs - around a 1000 of them simultaneously simulated at a time. The RT on this game also looks really good. They need to optimise that. Have the option to turn of motion blur or cap the framerate at 30fps are good quality of life improvements though.

Re: Poll: Are You Picking Up Capcom's First $70 Game On Release?

Darylb88

I got the game for PS5 for £60 and have zero regrets. The performance is nowhere near as bad as I was expecting and the gameplay is fantastic. I might even get a copy for my series S on discount.

Before that launch I was 100% on the fence especially with the unlocked 30fps.

The motion blur effect used to smooth out the FPS seems similar to the one used on Forza 5 for it's 30fps mode..it's surprisingly well implemented. I think it's something to do with shutter technology.

I'm not really hung up on the mtx, it's all pointless stuff you can get in game anyways. I have seen a lot of misinformation about it online being P2W (not surprised). There isn't anything that makes the game especially easier so I don't plan on buying any dlc except anything that adds content.

Re: Jim Ryan Explains Why Sony Kept Refusing To Sign Xbox's Call Of Duty Offer

@NEStalgia Wow I wasn't expecting an essay reply! I was talking objectively more about his commercial performance as a VP in Europes SIE growth phase and then the sales indicators as president/CEO. I don't think his output was particularly great and there were questionable consumer decisions but his success comes out of keeping shareholders happy which is sadly what props up the gaming industry. The next CEO needs to look at better budget regulation and higher profits margins. Herman Hulst should definitely go.

Hardcore playstation fans should be careful what they wish for - who's to say the next CEO will be better? It's just presumption at this point. He might end up looking like the good commercially minded one in the future. Kind of like a Peter Moore before a Don Matrick ( I wouldn't be surprised with another US/EU based executive). I don't take sides on the console fence so I think overall objectively he did okay even if there were communication missteps due to not being a natural presenter.

Re: Do You Agree With The 10 Highest-Rated Xbox Series X|S Games Of All Time?

Darylb88

Like A Dragon: Infinite Wealth and P5R were incredible. Forza and MS Flight Sim are also exceptional 1P games for Xbox. I quit BG3 after about 25 hours as it just wasn't clicking with me. I think objectively no game should be a 99 - that is basically perfection and BG3 is objectively far from that technically. Even RDR2 or Zelda shouldn't get a 99 and they do far more to innovate.

I haven't played the rest but the Witcher 3 does look really good.

Re: Skull & Bones Open Beta Launches To Decent Reviews On Xbox

It has been okay but I only really play SP and I have already seen some foul play in the PvP spaces which I don't think I would enjoy. I think if I could play it offline and Solo I would enjoy it a lot more.

The graphics and a bit glitchy and it did crash a couple of times to but I guess they are stress testing the servers ahead of launch.

Also this is not really a Pirate game more a naval warfare game. If you see it as just ship combat you will enjoy it a lot more.

Re: Starfield, Indiana Jones And Many Other 'Xbox Exclusives' Could Be Heading To PS5

@Mephisto2869 I mean gaming hardware, like consoles and physical games. It will take about a decade, but the decline is there. As soon as cloud tech is up the scratch in the western world consoles will be dropped like a rock as they are expensive to develop and often loss making for years. Software is where companies make money. I like consoles but I know they won't be around forever so I am just enjoying them now.

Re: Avowed Will Have Multiple Endings, Unsurprisingly

Darylb88

@UndyingInsurgent95 100% agree its why I skipped the Outer Worlds. I will give this a try as it's on Gamepass but Its doubtful it will stick when there are likely to be other big AAA games out at the end of the year.

I think the option to have it is important as its a role playing game.

I think a lot of people will be disappointed with this game based on the initial expectations.

Re: Rumours Resurface About Xbox Shadow Drop 'Hi-Fi RUSH' Releasing On More Platforms

I got an Xbox to go alongside my PS5 and Switch. If you have the option/ability to not lock yourself to one system you should take it.

At the end of the day Microsoft is a software business. They lose on loss making console sales and gain extra money from PC players, mobile games and their % cut from Sony and Nintendo. It is a business model that has netted them Trillions of dollars over the last few decades.

Re: Palworld Under 'Investigation' As Pokémon Company Issues Statement

Darylb88

I personally find Pokémon games (the more linear ones like Sword/Shield) significantly more enjoyable than Palworld but I am certain there is a place for both to be successful. Palworld can be fill the gap in Xbox and PC that Nintendo's games leave. The new more powerful Nintendo hardware should push GameFreak to improve their development overall.
