@BaldBelper78 I work at another large UK retailer that also sells a broad range of video games and from what i'm hearing they won't be selling much for longer. Where I am at the ratio is 2:1 most months 3:1 during the promotion and we sell through a lot of consoles. Nearly 25 million Xbox Series X/S have been sold so it's hardly a disaster for them.
Who let this clown out the circus! Not sure why someone would make an assessment of a game based upon a start sceeen. Clearly has something against Xbox or Bethesda to be making such a stupid statement.
@Chaotic_Neutral Yes if you have given a 10 you basically need to do a in depth review to justify why it goes above and beyond other games or stands out in an innovative way. Scoring a 10 does make more sense than scoring a zero though every day of the week.
I'm sure you'll be able to form your own opinion of the game without the help of aggregate sites though.
@Chaotic_Neutral You can def mark down for performance issues/story sure, but review bombing is giving something 0 or 1 which even that Gollum game woudn't be. Some of the best games of all time are 30fps so a 0 won't fly for that reason.
I think i'll be keeping off social media, there are some sad and unstable people out there. I never cared about review scores, just if I like the look of it (and eventually like the whole thing).
@Rmg0731 Strange I paid mine with store credit and it said completed right away. Maybe double check the payment method is 100% gift card or cancel that order and retry.
@Rmg0731 If you turned the points into store credit it is immediately. If however you paid part via your card MS has a weird glitch where it may try to take all the payment via card which would happen a few days before the launch date. If you are going to use giftcards for a pre order you need to cover the whole amount on giftcard.
Push up the thumbstick once and you'll land on the games and app section. So you'll never need to scroll down unlless you want to. I rarely use the dashboard anyways. I tend to not care about things like that too much. The majority of users won't care as they are just focused on the games.
Why is anyone suprised that a Billion/Trillion dollar software company wants to sell you... software! They didn't get rich for nothing.
@somnambulance It was delayed from 2022 to 2023 in June 2022, although they denied a further delay to 2024 in Sept 2022. Of course this may have quietly changed.
Series S will be 30fps like almost every other game coming out on the system now. I guess we was going to reach the limit at some point. I'll be getting a Series X soon for the Xbox exclusives.
A game I will need to buy on PS5 because I don't want to wait several months and I don't have a high end gaming PC. Disapointed MS has such strict parity rules.
If there is a disctint power diffrence (Which there is) the parity rules should be looser so those who choose to pay the extra £/$200 for the XSX don't have to resort to buying 3rd party games on PS5.
Hopefully Starfield will be a 10/10 game to make it up to those who only play on Xbox. Those players deserve much better than what MS has offered to date in this gen.
@Matthewnh If the disc doesn't arrive on the same day you'll prob need to snag a 14 day trial of gamepass and download the game that way. (if you don't have gamepass already). Once you added in your amazon digital code for the premium access plus dlc you can access the gamepass version from Sept 1st. Once you get the disc on the 6th you can just cancel your gamepass trial if required and just use the disc to play (no need to redownload the game).
MS just presumed in simplified terms that lower resolution would equal lower GPU pressure and the CPU is just as powerful as the Series X.
They messed up with the RAM big time.
MS badly misculated the dependency developers (Esp AA Devs) place on RAM. 12GB would have really helped the increasing number of devs who are looking to place more RAM resource direct onto the RAM rather than server side.
There is a lot to be said for Money, staffing and talent. You will always get good results from places like MS, EA and Ubisoft because they can afford it. AA and indie studios can't afford to to do that sadly so the Series S product in these cases will suffer.
Weak month for my tatses, I am waiting for the AAA games like Starfield and Forza. That is what 90% on gamepass subscribers want. Sea of Stars on the 29th looks decent.
Seems to be some weird obession of trying to compare it to GT7 which is driven by social media trolls/fanboys. I'm sure Forza MS will turn out great in it's own way when it is actually in players hands.
Some people would have you think it's a crime to enjoy racing games on different platforms. I feel sorry for them.
Slighty rough one that within a few days the majority of gamepass players will be jumping onto Starfield. I wish they had launched this at the end of this month or middle of August.
I just got a couple of months of PS plus for cheap to get some discounts on some upcoming PS only games. Plus there are some pretty good titles on PS plus that I don't own. I also have just got a few months of GP cheap for Starfield and Forza. Maybe I will play it on both systems haha.
My main issue with the Xbox SSD is the fail rate and the anti repair policy of adding unique keys to lock it to a console, which also changes every time you make a firmware update (voids backups). SSD the one thing I don't like about my Series S but everything else is great.
I will be getting it for the dlc expansion and the early access. I have learnt time is precious and we aren't promised tomorrow. I never wait too long for something I really want to try. I can replace money buy I cannot replace time.
The level of tech packed into this game considering it is 10 years old is insane. If it launched now with the recent visual upgrade it would be one of the most tech advanced games even now. If it used RDR2's game engine it would blow anything out of the water. If GTA 6 only adds 5% on top of the kind of tech they are pulling in RDR2 they will own the gaming industry for another 10 years. I am not fan of the online stuff but the game is an actual tech masterpiece only surpassed but RDR2.
Particular highlights are:
Draw distance detail
Skyboxes/ Day night cycles
AI pathing and intelligence
Texture details
Environmental building
Transit design
Subscription services and full price games are both equally good because they offer players the option. Having just one or the other would not grow the market.
I have always prefered digital games - they can be pre loaded and played the moment they are availible. Most digital games get deep discounts 2-3 months after launch and It's the most flexible way to purchase.
When I get a disc I just have to complete pretty much the same download anyways, you buy a licence these days - and the bit of plastic is for the memories while you have them I guess.
All we need now is for Sony, MS and Nintendo along with PC to offer a digital trade in system.
