Re: Assassin's Creed Mirage Seems To Have Turned Out Great On Xbox Series S

Darylb88

One thing ubisoft has going for it is R* level game engine optimsation. Watch Dogs Legion is one of the only AAA games on the Series S to have full RT in a game.

You can expect Skull and Bones to run well as the final game of the old gen engines used.

I expect thier new teardrop engine to run very well on Series S with the new Avatar game and Star Wars Outlaws next year.

Re: Talking Point: One Month On From Launch, How Are You Feeling About Starfield?

Darylb88

I'm about 55 hours in. I haven't played it much the last couple of weeks due to so many new games coming out but whenever I do jump in I have a great time and 3-4 hours just fly by. It is one of those games I can not play for weeks or months and instantly enjoy when I play it again. I am about halfway through the story but I am discovering new missons and large settlements on planets constantly. Some side missons can last an hour. I haven't even started the factions stuff yet! I think it's a 9/10 so far. With some addtional QOL patches and strong long term support this could easily be my Xbox game of the generation. I can only imagine Fable will challenge that title for me. GTA 6 or Persona 6 will probably be my actual game of the generation.

Re: Xbox's 'Fan-Favourite' 2016 Shadow Controller Is Returning In Gold This October

Darylb88

@InterceptorAlpha I mean Phil Spencer himself said some things have changed. They canned their xbox cloud streaming box after spending millions on R&D. The controller may show up in may as the same format or altered. It might come out later in 2024, or later or it could be canned. It's certainly not silly given MS track record to pivot and change over 12-18 month peroid (presentation is at least 18 months old). It's silly to promise yourself something is coming out based on old information.

Re: Phil Spencer Thanks PlayStation Boss For His Contribution To The Video Game Industry

I still think Sony (and MS too) will move in the direction of GaaS more heavily over then next 5-10 years. For Sony and MS the main parent company CEO's make the descions on the corperate strategy of each division. I don't think Jim Ryan leaving will change much because it all about perception. A lot of the work he has done over the last 4 years will only really out over the next 4 years, as with previous CEO's like Shawn Layden and Andrew House. If the new CEO is deemed to be more fashionble in hardcore gaming circles then they could do the same things are Jim mostly and be lauded.

Re: 2023 Has Been So Strong That Publishers Are Now Delaying Games To 2024

Darylb88

I really don't think 2024 will be much kinder to be honest.

Xbox has Avowed and Hellblade 2 while PS has games like Wolverine and Rise of the Ronin.

And then we might be getting critically aclaimed sequals like GTA 6 and Persona 6.

I'm sure there are plenty other huge games too.

Throw in revised systems for Nintendo, PS and Xbox and yeah I think November/December this year would be fine if they market it well.

Re: Starfield Update 1.7.33 Now Live, Here Are The Full Patch Notes

Darylb88

@TJ81 PS5 hardware is basically the same as Xbox so 60fps would be a push with that CPU. The graphics may not be next gen but it is a CPU systems heavy game which means peformance cost is greater on the CPU rather than the GPU. Todd Howard would have made the same choice even if Sony had brought them out as they are fairly hands off with 2nd party AQ's like Bungie. PC's with the right CPU can run 60fps already.

Re: Capcom Would 'Gracefully Decline' Any Acquisition Attempt From Xbox

Darylb88

Just an honest question - where did this this information come from? Is it a confirmed plan or is the CEO just responding to speculation?

Very much feels like a online narrative to stir up anti Xbox sentiment after the leak.

Other platform holders are afraid of the spending power Microsoft hold.

So what if Microsoft wants to go with the Man City approach of buying the best? They'll end up winners in the industry by the end of the decade.

Re: Baldur's Gate 3 Dev Reacts To Suggestion That Xbox 'Misjudged' The Game's Potential

Darylb88

@Tomato_Goose Act 3 is where i really struggled with the game on PS5. The fps was very poor and there were a few softlock bugs. The PS5 version should have launched in Novemeber really. I'm sure the Xbox version will be fine with all the updated optimsations. I can see why Series S can't do spilt screen though. I still think it is a very good game and 8/10 is a great score. It's just not a 10/10 RDR2 kind of game.

Re: Pick One: Which Is The Best Bethesda Game Studios RPG?

Darylb88

I tried Fallout 4 this afternoon and I can't believe how similar it is to Starfield, down to already knowing all the controls and game mechanics! I can see why some reviewers could knock BGS for not innovating. Luckily for me I love the formula so I'm enjoying both games.

Re: Phil Spencer On Tokyo Game Show 2023: 'The Future For Xbox In Japan Is Bright'

Darylb88

@GunValkyria I wouldn't be so sure that MS hasn't already done a deal. They are doing a lot of deals with SEGA/Atlus at the moment for marketing and gamepass partnerships. At very least I feel like it will be multiplat as this 1000% needs to be on the next nintendo console.

I would say if it could only be on just 1 console it should be a nintendo console as they have the biggest JRPG player base and just player base in general.
