Earlier this year, Microsoft unveiled three new Xbox Series X|S console revisions as the company planned to refresh its lineup this holiday season - and one of them appears to have gotten out early.
Posted over on Reddit, one fan has managed to get their hands on the white, all-digital Xbox Series X earlier than anticipated. A Walmart store in the US seems to have sold the console early, and well, the lucky user decided to pick it up and show the system off in person.
Here's how it's looking:
It's certainly a good match for that white Elite Controller there, and we must admit this thing does appear rather sleek. We like our disc tray though, especially for backwards compatible games - but the discless front face does make for a smooth look!
Back in the summer, we asked you folks if you were interested in any of these new Xbox console revisions, and the majority of you said no. However, of those who were interested in buying one, 28% of you said the white Series X was your top choice - vs. 10% for the 1TB Series S and 62% for the Galaxy Black 2TB Series X.
What do you think to the look of this new console? Tell us your thoughts down below.

I do prefer the looks in white - I grew bored of the 'black box' syndrome years ago, so I wish this had been out when I got the black Series X!
Choice is good, I don't see why they don't offer lots of colours? Their competitors do..
Still, can't complain about lack of controller colours - Xbox do that better than anyone else.
I like the color but I have no problem with my Series X as it has more functionality.
Looks good 😊 I want one!
Looks pretty sleek! I can see these being a good choice for some people with a bit of a saving over the full model.
When it comes to games I'm pretty much all digital now as modern physical games are little more than shelf candy, but I use the Series X disk drive to watch DVDs, Blu Rays, etc on a regular basis.
@PhileasFragg I have a collection of CDs that I can only play easily on Series X, because PS don't read CDs. I have only a few physical Xbox games and none of them is an Xbox or Xbox 360 game, because I didn't have those consoles, so for me the disc drive is basically for BDs, DVDs and CDs. I wonder if all next-gen consoles will lack a disc drive. In that case, I will keep Series X even after getting its successor.
Damn that looks clean af
The white looks really nice. Does the top not have the Green tho? I can’t tell. I have a launch Series X, if it ever bites the dust i would replace it with this one. I haven’t used a disc drive on any product in 10 years. The White Core Elite looks good next to it with the black handles. This is a well done pic.
My all-digital "Xbox Series X" is also white...with a glass side panel...and has liquid cooling...and 6TB of storage. 😂
I do like the looks of that Elite Controller. May have to look into upgrading from my last-gen Cyberpunk 2077 Controller.
I can make mine "white" with my Starfield console wrap.
It's most definitely worth mentioning that everyone can stuff it! Now, don't get me wrong, I'm 100% about physical media and especially after SEGAs statement that you paid for the item, but it's not yours this last week for their new game from Persona dev team, and when digital takes over, I'm no longer buying games. I have a massive backlog of games to play and I guess I'll finally be able to catch up so, I'll make that clear--even though it doesn't matter cause you don't know me anyway, but to get that out of the way, I'm all for physical media. In my time Nintendo gamers got their games, threw the box out and thought nothing of it, but they didn't see today back then. Sega collectors smile as their box were plastic, until publishing rights were bought later Sega Genesis games shipped in cardboard, but Sega fans were already well trained. Today, those that hung on to all of that are smiling. Sega fans have a copy of Panzer Dragoon Saga now selling for $1000. $40 when my brother bought and still has his, and $300 when I got mine, but it's now worth 3x what I paid for it. Not eBay listing, but actual Price Chart value. So, there are a lot like me today that buy the digital version for convenience, but tucked away in a box or on the shelf is a sealed physical copy. We're always trying to anticipate what those rare games will be and digital has proven it doesn't last. CONCORD, TMNT TURTLES IN TIME on PS3 and Xbox 360, Afterburner Climax on PS3 digital only. They're gone so, we collect the physical right along with the digital.
But, when I see bull crap like this and everyone going along with it, I don't want to hear griping and complaining about not having a disc drive or a stand. Y'all are bringing this on yourselves and doing it to yourselves.
By-the-way, if you work at retailer, you might as well do this. Ya don't steal it, that's wrong. You'll probably lose your job but put some money on the till in the electronics department and put it in a nice big bag. It's paid for, but Microsoft isn't going to come after you for breaking the street date. Don't even know why they bother. As long as you ain't stealing it and your manager is stupid enough to trust his staff and not keep things in a cage on he has the key to get to it, again, you didn't steal it. Stealing is wrong and it's criminal. Breaking a street date isnt exactly honest either, shows you can't be trusted and have no integrity, but nobody is gonna prosecute you, maybe just fire you but, as long as you pay for it. Steal it? You deserve to rot in prison, but I don't want to read everyone griping about digital only when someone posts something like this and everyone rallies around or, or hypocrits like this flood the internet praising people for having a digital console. People are just stupid and need a reason to complain, I guess.
Upgrading to the standard Series X as I was able to get it new for the same price as the digital but the white does look good though.
Random question, my series x is blowing a storm out of that vent. Used to be silent but now it sounds like Henry the hoover. Have any of you folks cleaned one? I've cleaned my PS5 out before but, before I dive into this one, is it something that helps or is it some other known issue.
Apologies for off topic, but appreciate any input.
@Vaako007 You know it's not for you silly lamb for the exact reasons you stated 🙆👍🙏

Apparently this is being sold early at Walmarts all over. I just saw one at the Walmart in Augusta, Maine.
The Galaxy black 2tb series x is actually sold out in the UK Xbox store now.
I get mine on Tuesday since I’ve been digital since the 360 days and I want the higher quality visuals over the Series S. I’m hoping the top isn’t green. I like the minimalist look to the new Series X and can’t wait to play it!
Personally I am not a fan of white consoles, they rarely seem to age well, yellowing over time seems to be all too common. It's partly why I went out and bought a black 1TB Series S while I still could pick one up new, I wanted to get the xScreen attachment and have an all-in-one travel Xbox and I think it just looks so much cleaner all black.
Now make it dark grey and with 2tb drive.
GREEDY, SCUMMY PlayStation are releasing their OVERPRICED RIPOFF PS5 Pro in November, and meanwhile Xbox fans are getting this BEAUTIFUL PIECE OF ART!!!! PlayStation fans are KICKING THEMSELVES right now for going for the PS5 over the Xbox!!!!!
I’m happy I went for the Series X for the disc drive, as I’m finding physical games for peanuts (picked up 6 360 games a week or two ago for 50p each). Plus I’ve discovered the joys of sticking a CD on and turning in game music off to have my own soundtrack. Playing Mad Max, tearing round the desert to the sound of Synchronicity II by The Police is like my own post-apocalyptic GTA radio station!
I was all digital until 2019 and then started aggressively buying physical once all the eshops were announced to shutdown and the price of physical games started increasing. Now I have a lot of games which require extra space but I at least can sell them or trade them, many are sealed and in good condition so if I can't ever make it to them in my backlog, I'll be able to sell them at a good price. I have a couple collector editions of games and accessories I never got to opening because I'm playing other games and those have really gone up in value. If we could sell and trade the license on digital on console like Steam it might change my mind but until then, no chance. I can see my collection is large so I've really slowed down on purchasing games unless they're rare or will have higher resale value sealed in the future. I've also been buying a lot of Japanese games being released on Xbox for their first time, I'm guessing they've printed a low number of physical copies so see those becoming quite valuable like they do on Nintendo Switch. Pokemon Let's Go Collectors edition physical goes for $500 easy whereas it was around $80 at launch and $130 for the double pack (estimates no need to correct if wrong). Plus it supports the artists for box art work.
Looks alright, but I still find it dumb and lazy that they did the same thing as the Xbox One S all digital. You're removing a significant chunk of the console, also this is probably a die shrunk lower power consuming version of the Series X, so why not give it a new smaller sleeker form factor?
I saw this at my local Wal-Mart in Michigan over the weekend….i didn’t realize they broke street date. Just thought it had realized already without me noticing.
