Played a few hours and I am enjoying it so far. I am enjoying the social elements and turn based gameplay.

I shall be picking this up when it goes on it's first sale, hopefully around Xmas. Looks interesting!

First ever World Cup game was the France 98 one, then loved the Euro 2000, World Cup 2002 and Euro 2004 games. After that I had a bit of a break and 2010 was the last standalone game I got. The Fifa 23 iteration looks better than ever but the 2 stadiums just ruin everything else.

Grateful that the extra support allows devs to take risks - which are all too rare these days.

So much discourse over a plastic box. It's great for the price though.

I am certain this was a commercial choice over a developent one. Feb is stacked and Howarts Legacy is going to dominate the month.

@IronMan30 Oh yeah it's def free if you got the Xbox One version disc or digital.

@IronMan30 Yeah the wording is a bit confusing. I know for PS there will be a seperate PS5 version to download but the Xbox version may just get you to download the whole game again or download that version from scratch. Re-downloading the whole game now may be fruitless to save time unless you have very fast internet

I wouldn't expect to see games like this for 5-7 years, esp when some devs can just about get 60fps or not even that on the Series X with signficantly lower graphical cost.

Very excited to give this one a go, was shocked by the 10/10 IGN gave though! 7th best Xbox game of the year so far is very respectable.

@IronMan30 I think it might be a seperate Series native version so prob best to hold off until it is confirmed

Forza or Fable could look cool, maybe a Series X in the colours matching the controllers they have put out

Very excited for this one. Also people should wait until more info is given/launch before showing concern over performnce. It's an early build which is been shown 3 months before launch.

People talk about the Series S holding back games yet a lot of those games including this one were launched on Switch.

With Billions of dollars Xbox revenue, I don't think they are particuarly worried as long as the growth continues. Growth naturally slows as you hit market saturation, and saturation for GP isn't the same as console sales at the moment.

I have played several hours so far on Series S and I have enjoyed it. I couldn't care less about the reviews for this or any other game. I'm glad I gave this a fair chance. If you try it yourself and it's not for you then that's completly fair, but remember online reviews are looking for clicks (ad money) and are not the authority on gaming any more than the next person.

A game dev "struggle" with Series S because:

A) they are basically too lazy to do the extra work or lack the technical talent to use the game engine

B) The need a more flexible and optimised game engine

C) They have lack of funds for B and are over ambtious

@Titntin I have played the game and I think 7 or 8 out of 10 is fair. DF were going to go hard bc it's 30fps on consoles and IGN needs clicks. I do think it looks at least as good if not better than AK when you actually play it on the screen. The RT and hand placed lighting do make a difference even if they do tax the fps. it's fair enough if it's not for you though.

I have played a bit so far on my Series S and it looks great! prob one of the best looking games on the Series S if you look beyond the 30fps. I am unsure if it has RT but it certainly looks like it! the scores that IGN and Gamespot gave are shocking. I mean it's hard to take them seriously when they score for clicks.

@darkswabber Persona 5 Royal came out in 2020 in the West, not 2017.

For any Series S players - Game runs at 1080p 60fps

I have it pre ordered on the Series S and I was expecting 30fps without RT so I can see why Series X owners would be a little frustrated. For myself I would rather have the RT over the 60fps but it is good to give people options as everyone's eyes handles frames diffrently.

@ PJO'Reilly Did anyone get to try the Series S version? curious to see if it runs at 60fps?

I will be picking this up for my Series S and Switch to show support for the ports. My fave game of all time! I finished this on PS4 during the pandemic and loved every minute of it. I will run a 2nd playthrough on Xbox and a 3rd on the Switch. The game has great replay value as there is so much you miss on a first runthrough.

I predict the version will run

Xbox Series X: 4k 30fps with RT (confirmed)

Xbox Series S: 1080p 30fps without RT - If it does have RT like Watch Dogs Legion I will be impressed but to be honest I just hope the game hits about 1080p

I have it preordered and will play and enjoy (If the story is good). I don't really care about 30fps

@Kaloudz Yeah I have been playing Flight Sim and Medievil Dynasty via cloud for Gamepass PC.

Persona, Persona, Persona

I think a next gen version of these games should be running at 120fps 1080p or 4k 60fps. I can run Persona 4 Golden at 144fps 1080p of a weak old GTX1650 and an i5 intel.

@Kaloudz Some get cloud play but Coral Island hasn't been added yet.. although games like flight Sim and Yakuza Like a Dragon are. Also the recent release medievil dynasty is too! so yeah there are a decent selection.

@Thrussted Main difference is the coral part, all the underwater diving and the lore there is very much different and something new I have been waiting for

First party I don't and prob never will buy due to length of time on the service, but 3rd party games I may pick up on a discount or if I want to support the dev team on Xbox (Persona 5 Royal and Eiyuden Chronicles come to mind). Despite the improvement there are still a number of Japanese games missing from Xbox.

I am looking forward to the game mainly for the story, and that seems to be one of the main standout positives from these early impressions. I am curious to see how it reviews once the game has been completed. Could be a Marvel's Avengers situation where the combat was average but everyone loved the writing and characters. I can image this will get 7's a and 8's with the odd 6 from a reviewer trying to be edgy.

Dynmaic backgrounds is one of my fave things on my PS4. I would love to have more on my Series S, esp Xbox first party and also big 3rd party games.

Persona 5 Royal is the champion of creating huge gaming backlogs. Xbox players should see unprecedented levels of backlog if they choose to invest in this game!

Not sure if it’s just the south east of England but it’s 7 day delivery… I can get it from Argos the same day. What happened to Amazon same day delivery?

They need to add more realistic features like VAR and correct fixture updates (World cup comes to mind). Overall a decent improvment on last year - esp on Series S.
