Back on Friday, we highlighted the first post-launch update for Stalker 2 on Xbox Series X and Xbox Series S, and it's actually received another one since then - Patch 1.0.2, which went live on Saturday with a few extra fixes.
There's nothing too crazy in here, but we'll throw the patch notes down below (without spoilers) anyway:
- Fixed an issue when the second wave {REDACTED] would not spawn during the “On the Edge” mission, blocking further progression.
- Fixed the issue when [REDACTED] could be found dead during the “A Minor Incident” mission, blocking further progression.
- The fixed issue was a player could get stuck after installing the fuse in the Wild Island area if they got the [REDACTED] first during the “Just Like the Good Old Days” mission, blocking further progression.
- The fixed issue was when a player could not successfully complete the “All That is Left” mission while exploring the Chemical Plant region.
- Fixed issue when quest enemies could spawn in unreachable areas for a player during the “Down Below” mission, blocking further progression.
- Fixed an issue when [REDACTED] could be missing during the “Visions of Truth” mission.
- A few more EXCEPTION_ACCESS_VIOLATION errors are fixed.
That's the most recent update, then, but if we go back to the previous update, we've seen a lot of Stalker 2 players sharing their impressions since it dropped, and the overall reception has been mixed - just like when the game launched.
Some people are loving the update and indeed the game itself right now, while others say that a lot of bugs and other issues still persist that are making Stalker 2 an unenjoyable experience for the time being. Here are some examples:
So, yeah... a whole host of opinions about Stalker 2 as it stands right now. The good news is that GSC Game World seems extremely committed to making this game as good as possible, with many more hotfixes and updates to come.
We're also going to find out about a roadmap of planned content at some point during December, which seemingly will give us an idea of what to expect in Year One of Stalker 2's lifespan. It's still a long road ahead for this game!
