Following the "stream your own game" rollout for web browsers and other devices in November, Xbox Insiders in the Alpha Skip-Ahead and Alpha rings can now officially preview this feature on Series X|S and Xbox One consoles.
Xbox Insiders (who are also Game Pass Ultimate members) will now be able to stream "select games" on their console in 28 supported countries where Xbox Cloud Gaming (Beta) is available. Microsoft has shared a full list of games including titles like Baldur's Gate 3, Cyberpunk 2077 and Space Marine 2.
"With the “Stream your own game” feature on Xbox consoles, you can stream select games you own on your Xbox console without needing to install them. This allows you to play games through streaming, saving you time and hard drive space, and offers access to your games with Xbox Cloud Gaming (Beta)."
Here's the rundown on how to stream to your Xbox (via Xbox Wire) and below this is the full list of games on offer:
To start streaming from your Xbox console, go to My games & apps > Full library > Owned Games.
- If you own a cloud playable game, you’ll see a cloud badge on the game.
- You can also use filters to find games quickly. Choose Filter > Ready to play > Cloud gaming.
- To start playing, select the game and then choose Play with Cloud Gaming.
- Support for launching directly from the Store app and streaming in the Xbox app on Windows PC will be coming in the future.

They need to be constantly adding titles for this to be really effective. Sure a ton of Game Pass titles are streamable, but a vast majority of the catalog isn't and I'd love to see them constantly add games to this list. Id love to be able to play classic Star Wars titles via xcloud, 360 titles, OG Xbox titles, and games such as Fight Night and Vermintide II.
Square Enix with the support!
Streaming games can be useful, to a degree. When you have a title that can be 50 - 120 GB in size, it much easier to simply stream the game rather the download the game and have it take up space on the SSD drive which is limited for space. The new title Gehina Impact can be streamed with cloud gaming which is useful.
@TheEstablishment
This. I only use xCloud for Xbox games, but used to own a Series X and have quite a few games I own. Tested CP2077 via xCloud and it works great (with some minor issues). I hope MS will keep adding to the list of games available this way frequently.
I'm surprised it's taken this long. Microsoft were big on the whole cloud gaming thing, and while the Game Pass Streaming library is pretty broad it's missing lots of big titles that'd make it worthwhile to tempt someone as a feature of its own.
This is a good start, but they need to be pro-active to have basically every game available.
Could be good as a soloution but they need to add more games on a regular basis. Dont know why though, but I get the strange feeling that this is how back compat will be delivered in the next xbox console.
Ok? If I'm incorrect, please correct me. I read:
To start streaming from your Xbox console, go to My games & apps > Full library > Owned Games.
Ok? If already on your console? Why not just start the game up and play on your console? You're already there. And will get the best possible experience.
@Rodimusprime13 I think a lot of people are not factoring in the following about the whole streaming con.
1) not getting a good experience, let alone the best possible experience. 2) streaming the game will result in using more gigs of data than just downloading the game to play it - again, to get much better experience.
Those two reasons alone should cause any gamer to pause and rethink all the streaming hype as bogus and move on from ever considering it.
@GuyinPA75 I'm going to take a wild guess and say, I bet you don't have a decent Internet speed.
