Welcome to the weekend! There's a lot to enjoy on Xbox over the next couple of days, including a bunch of new Xbox Game Pass additions, six Free Play Days offerings, and of course, Indiana Jones is now available in early access!
Here's what we're playing this weekend:
Fraser Gilbert, Editor
I've got Indiana Jones pre-loaded ahead of its Xbox Game Pass release on Monday, but I'm not really someone who pays for early access very often, so I'll wait it out a few more days. Instead, I'm putting my focus on UFL primarily this weekend, which I've been really enjoying so far - it's just so nice to have a new football game on the market!
Microsoft Flight Simulator 2024 is very much in my rotation at the moment too. Yes, it's still struggling in some areas on Xbox Series X and S right now, but it's at least (mostly) playable, and the career mode is so much fun! I love how you can just skip parts of the missions if you'd rather focus on the most interesting bits of them.
Have a good weekend, folks!

I finished Harmony The Fall of Reverie yesterday, so this weekend I'll probably start a new playthrough of Dragon Age The Veilguard! Happy weekend everyone
I put death stranding on hold to start a new playthrough of Cyberpunk.
The last time I played was on Stadia. I'm really hooked this time. I'm doing every secondary mission and I now realize how good this game actually is. I haven't encountered a single bug in 10hr gameplay so far.
Anyways as soon as I finish it I'll be submerging into Indiana Jones. I can't wait to play it
My Xbox has had a bit of action this last week or so with Sniper elite V2 (now finished) and 3.
Easy going stealth with some fun game mechanics giving me a lot of old school fun.
I'll be on black ops and CTR gonna wait till I get my series x to play indy in style!
This weekend I'm mainly going to play Stellar Blade and Bravely Default II.
Got some friends coming over tomorrow though so I downloaded Modern Warfare 2(the X360 version) and Crash Team Racing: Nitro-Fueled for that occasion.
Hello there fellow gamers;
On this weekend I´ll continue playing the following games:
Cheers everyone and happy gaming weekend to us all
Stalker 2 and loving it
And looking forward to playing Mr Jones when it hits gamepass on day 4
Path of Exile 2 early access. Was a bit rough for a couple of hours while they worked on some database issues but been pretty good since then server wise.
Its still PoE but just better (vague i know but this ain't the place for an essay). Game play is slower paced but this means you see the telegraphed attacks & have a better chance to avoid or block them. I have died a few times & know what got me each time no random off screen one shot (so far). All in all a lot of fun.
I am still working on my completionist run in Stalker 2 as a side project but that will be taking a back seat for a few days at least.
Mainly Behemoth on PSVR 2 which is very good, controls couls be a little better but other than that its really fun!
Also some Marvel Rivals, which I like and probably will keep playing.
Next week I’ll start Indy 😀
Going to try and finish The Quarry before it’s leaves GP… Indy next week … any spare time will be clearing out space to fit Indy on….
I’m playing Stalker 2 and it is amazing. I restarted two times because I felt as if I wasn’t getting a good grasp on how the game should be played, and I was making poor decisions. After watching a few basic tutorials on inventory management and learning the ropes from my initial playthroughs, I feel as if I understand how the game works. It’s such an incredible experience, and one of the most immersive games I’ve ever played. I know this might sound blasphemous, but it really has scratched that Fallout RPG itch.
The open world also heavily reminds me of Red Dead Redemption 2. There is wildlife out and about (mutants in this case) and people going about their lives. You don’t always know if they are good guys or enemies. But patience is a virtue in that regard. And how you stumble upon side quests organically by exploring and finding new locations to unearth, it has that same feeling of immersion.
It’s just a damn good game.
I’m playing Life is Strange: Double Exposure on Series X. You play Max from the first game again, now older and an artist-in-residence at a posh New England college. After her best friend is found dead, she finds she can go into another world where her friend isn’t dead. You have to flick between the ‘live’ and ‘dead’ worlds to pull together clues about what happened. It gets weirder. It’s enjoyable, I’ve liked all the LiS games and it’s a nice change of pace from Veilguard, which I finished last weekend.
Indy, along with Stalker 2 are my Christmas leave activities.
Approaching end game of veilguard after 150 hours playtime.
I have so many other titles to play, but my head has been turned by indy to the point where I'm about to buy 3 months GP (£22 cheapest I've found) just to play it. Looking forward to trying it.
I probably shouldn't admit this in public, but I want to try a bit of Infinity Nikki too...
Whatever you are playing this weekend, I hope you have fun!
Going to try to blast through Nine Sols before Indy comes out, but let’s be real: Roller Coaster Tycoon Classic is out on the Switch and I’m there for that. I’ve still yet to beat Dragon Quest 3’s Remake as well. I did download Infinite Nikki and played a whopping 15 minutes of that so far. And there’s the shadow of Stalker 2 in the background as well, I suppose. Jeez, too many games in a short period of time, been a while since I had to juggle like this.
I’ll be dropping all other games for Indy next week though.
Probably won't be much gaming time for me this weekend unfortunately. Between studying for for finals and reading the new Stormlight archives book, my schedules darn near packed.
@AlwaysPlaying I've just finished The Quarry this week and I really enjoyed it. At first I couldn't care less about the teenagers but after a while I was pretty nervous to make decisions and avoid deaths lol Ended with 'just' 3 characters dead.
This weekend I'll be trying BlazBlue Cross Tag Battle and will start another game but still have to decide.
On PS5 I'm still trying to finish Dragon Age Inquisition but it just keeps going lol bought Veilguard from Amazon for £35 so I'll start that whenever i finish Inquisition. On Xbox I'm still playing Black Ops 6 and tempted to buy the early access for Indiana Jones.
Microsoft Wordament (Android) - My neverending questing through the Adventure mode and also the dailies.
iStunt 2 (Windows Phone) - Still working through the Windows Phone backlog, so I've started this Joe Danger wannabe.
Elements: Epic Heroes (Windows Phone) - Also just started this one.
Switch: DQ11, just made it to Gallopolis. Absolutely love this game.
Xbox: I finished Fractured But Whole. I plan to unlock some more achievements before retiring it. I also decided to jump back into Control again after finishing the Alan Wake 2 DLC had me itching for more Remedy madness.
PS5: Hunting down the final costumes in my personal GOTY Stellar Blade.
Indy and stalker 2 for me.
After not using my Playstation in practically all year, I dusted it off to play Samurai Warriors: Spirit of Sanada which is really good. It's sad that plenty of Musou ended up as PS4 exclusives.
Deceive Inc. after the sad news that it might not be around much longer, I'll be trying to sweep up some achievements and some Skull and Bones, which isn't too bad, not great, but it's ok
Lies of P...really want to finish it this weekend so I can play Indy on launch. Only 3 more chapters left but they are getting a bit rough in terms of difficulty. Still love the game though and highly recommend.
Nothing yet until indiana jones
Enjoyed Stalker 2 for a bit, but then I tried The Expanse on a whim, as I love Telltale games. Liked it so much I started watching the tv series on Amazon Prime and it’s one of the best sci-fi tv series I’ve seen (only Battlestar Galactica tops it for me for now).
Played Stalker 2 a lot. The performance is OK (up-res in the distance is blurry as hell), the world is beautifully done, the combat/AI/stealth feels quite rough and I'm paranoid about softlocks. But overall the vibe is amazing.
@gollumb82 The expanse was excellent, i hope Teltale keep producing at this quality moving forward
@PurvisP
You speak the truth, beratna. With that said, I would say Telltale have yet to make a felota game 😉
Back to Forza Horizon 4, it's still a fantastic a game as ever.
@Rangers420 I had no idea Veilguard had dropped that much. £39 for Xbox which is very tempting. Ta for the inadvertent PSA.
@AlwaysPlaying The quarry is very good I enjoyed playing it would of done a couple more playthroughs to keep everyone alive to kill everyone but with gamepass there's always something new to play ha! Was 9/10 for me 🏆
Just holding out for indy still. Only mario and luigi on switch for the time being.
Finished Dragon Age Veilgard on Thursday at 95 hours with the good ending and immediately started another playthrough as a mage that I'm currently 15 hours into. I just can not get enough of this game. To me, it's a masterpiece.
XDefiant (Series X) With news of the inevitable shutdown I figured I enjoy the game while I can.
World of Warcraft (PC) After a short break from the game I got the itch to return to it.
Other then that I am not really playing anything much so that way I have time for Indiana Jones in a few days when it comes out.
@gollumb82 Excellent reply 😎 I'm a big Telltale fan but weirdly not got round to playing the Wolf Amongst Us yet time to delve in after Indiana
A combination of Death Stranding, Top Spins 2K25 and Forza on the series X. And Beyond Good and Evil remake on the Switch.
Happy gaming.
POE 2. Great game.
Hey all more FFXIV for me and also Harold Halibut. Quite liking the slow pace and wholesomeness of the latter!!
Have been playing Forza Motorsport a lot again recently and keep trying UFL but it is laughably bad.
@gollumb82 just curious ... I bought the expanse game on release. I played the first chapter which I really enjoyed. Then it's a tad mediocre. So much so that I lost interest in continuing playing
How far are you in the game?
@fabisputza007
Got to the end of the first season. I hope more are to come. If you liked the first episode I recommend you persevere through the next 2, which are about exploration more than anything else. All of it will make sense later. I have just started the second season of The Expanse tv series and I’m loving it.
Helldivers 2 and FFVII remake. Xbox owner since 360 bud fed up of no good games...
Well here we go with another interesting WAYP. The week was mostly the GOTY hunt again. Trails Through Daybreak, Emio and Metaphor with some Mario and Luigi and Visions of Mana. But on the completing front we did finish Star Wars Outlaws and eh that sure is a game of this year that’s for sure. Love the protagonist and thought the villains were cool but otherwise just eh. Most of the weekend was spent with Emio and Tekken 8. Emio is starting to get really intriguing but at the same time it’s got a hill to climb to impress if I’m being honest. Tekken 8 on the other hand I not only beat the DLC story but got the Platinum Trophy for and absolutely loved it all that is seriously a GOTY and absolutely my fighting game of the year. And it’s got that DLC announcement at the game awards too let’s go boys. Rest of the weekend I’m thinking is gonna be some YS X Nordics again really just chipping away at it tho I’m definitely feeling meh on it as it goes on its villains are kinda weak. Otherwise I’m thinking this week is mostly gonna consist of some Trails Through Daybreak, Emio, Dawntrail, Metaphor, Sonic X Shadow Generations, Mario and Luigi Brothership, Bakeru and Visions of Mana. Maybe some Zenless Zone Zero too. There are some games I wanna dabble in like Infinity Nikki, Marvel Rivals, Dragon Quest 3 HD 2D Remake and Fantasian Neo Dimension but honestly the GOTY hunt kinda comes first I really wanna beat Metaphor for instance. The wrestling things this week being NXT Deadline is actually kinda interesting. Didn’t think it was gonna be too exciting but the Lola Vice and Jaida Parker match as well as the Women’s Iron Survivor match kinda knocked it out the park. My GOAT Giulia the Beautiful Madness winning was amazing. Next up is WWE Saturday Nights Main Event and that’s hype too. Anime of the week gotta go to Dandadan and Dragon Ball Daima and Shangri La Frontier and Yakuza Fiancé and Ron Kaminohashis Forbidden Deductions and Ranma 1/2. Still amazing shows with Dandadan being the standout one. Podcasts of this week gotta go to Castle Superbeast, Big Think Dimension, Into The Aether, RPGsites Tetracast, Minnmax, Jeff Gerstmann, Kit and Krysta, Last Stand Media, Easy Allies, Second Wind, Nextlander, Cultaholic Wrestling, Weapon Wheel Podcast and Remap Radio. Most of those actually ended up on the Spotify Wrapped this year so that’s hype. As always yall stay safe, be cool to each other. Have a totally awesome weekend and of course Happy Gaming.
