I'll no doubt be getting it at somepoint down the line. I'm glad the local mp options remain. I don't always need local MP but it happens with enough frequency I need some.
I all ready have access to these games on Xbox via gamepass. The two I would buy are Hi-fi and SoT but getting them on PS5 doesn't really add anything to me. Maybe if they come to Switch 2? At least then I'm getting a native way to play them off the TV instead of streaming to another device.
@umeandgames Yeah. That first playthrough was fantastic, but the other levels took me from "Hell yeah, gonna get this on Switch as well" to "eh, won't get it on Switch too".
The new DLC levels also seem to be just another cosmetic swap.
I'm enjoying season 2 more than season 1, season 1 had too much of Mass Effect 1 thing going on.
I am slightly bothered that they changed cortana again, I started to live the change in season 1 and they changed it to some odd place inbetween "classic" and season 1s design.
@pip_muzz I had to come back to season 1 when 2 came out. My tip to leave halo lore at the door.
I suppose it might not be too long, it's not like they would be making it from scratch. They'll have assets from the Jedi games, they obviously have Apex/Titanfall experience. (with the whole "empire-dominated" thing I assume this is a prequel).
@InterceptorAlpha Yeah that was my thought too, they just keep adding new projects. At this point, we're more likely to see some sort of Titanfall 1+2 remaster before Titanfall 3.
Here's the thing, how many of these 10 games are Acti-bliz titles? (title that was going to come out regardless of what happened with the purchase.) and how many are from the MS and Bethesda?
Xbox has what 30 studios now, 10 games a year feels about right (assuming a 3 year dev cycle)
As everyone noted at the time, there wasn't a reason for that podcast couldn't have been outlined when the rumours started to make "Xbox not making consoles" trending.
I like the talk of preserving out libraries and forwards compatibility (even though it wasn't new) but wasn't happy they didn't really offer anything new in actually protecting our access to them. Like even cloud streaming games we actually own would be a start (I get that's a licencing hellscape)
@GamingFan4Lyf being able to access your actual console Libary on PC would be a massive relief for players. Xbox as a platform might disappear but windows isn't likely going anywhere.
@DesertRanger My worry about an Xbox handheld is that is "just" a Windows-powered handheld. Theres already a bunch of them, I want something that will play my actual Xbox library.
I guess that means we aren't getting a XX (pro), cool.
All I really want from the next generation is ending this era of choosing between graphics and FPS options. It is too much to ask that the "biggest leap ever" means we can have games that both look good and play smoothly?
I did get the feeling a lot of this was about future Activision titles, getting people used to the idea not everything coming out of Xbox going forward is going to be exclusive, stuff like CoD, Overwatch, Diablo are going to keep being Multi-plat.
It was largely what I was expecting. I am not sure why this couldn't have been delivered earlier instead of letting the rumours do damage.
We have a solid idea of what three of these are (HiFi, SoT, Pen) but what is the fourth the other "community-driven" game? Halo multiplayer?
I wasn't happy they talked about respecting our libraries and game preservation but didn't actually offer anything new there (E.g. still no accessing non-GP titles via the cloud, not being able to access our 360 games on PCetc)
Smaller titles like Hi-Fi which bolster GP but don't sell consoles are perfect for porting to other platforms. Games like SoT are old enough no one is going to go "ah I like the look of upcoming xbox exclusive _______ so I'll wait 5 years and it may come to ps" off the back of last gen live service being ported.
Its if something like Starfield, Forza, Indy that's a problem unless it part of some sort of "hostage exchange" PS gets indy, Xbox get Spiderman.
@K1LLEGAL Yeah that was my thought, someone wrote "Monday" for their article and I assumed there was some preset investor/ financial thing going on and that's why they said Monday. But it seems to be a day they pulled out of their rears.
@MrN0vmbr it really dose feel like a million years ago there was all this positively around the next 12 months of Xbox, now its debate if there will even be an xbox in 12 months lol
I just finished Like A Dragon: Infinite Wealth, so I'm a bit lost at the moment. I will jump back in to finish up the substories (it's just the "romance" ones) and the last Sujimon section.
@EvilSilentFrame Yeah I'm not expecting it to be that bad, I don't expect MS to announce all their games coming to PS/Switch, and I'm not expecting 90% of Acti-Bliz games to be exclusive anyway but I do worry that enough MS/Bethesda games "jumping ship" would be the next twist in a death spiral.
I fully support stuff like SoT or Hi-Fi Rush going multiplatform. I can't imagine SoT has much more earning potential on Xbox/PC and as much as I love Hi-Fi Rush, it wasn't going to sell systems.
I'm pretty sure Sega wasn't planning on not the Dreamcast being the end of their consoles either.
I never doubted MS would want to make more consoles, my fear is releasing too much "exclusive" content on rival platforms will cause sales to nose dive to the point that it won't make fiscal sense to make consoles, which in turn dooms our digital libraries.
Basically, I want them to avoid a death spiral that dooms my digital library developed across 3 generations to a few games on Play Anywhere and only GP titles via the cloud.
Anything more than "select" titles being multiformat and I'm done buying stuff on Xbox. It'll be the Game Pass machine they want it to be but I will not be adding to my Xbox digital library no MTXs, No DLCs, No game purchases. I don't see the point in investing in content for an ecosystem that won't exist in the future.
Again I don't care about PS players getting to play "our games", I care about MS making a mistake now that means my library is put at risk later.
I get MS doesn't want to reveal details directly to it's folks first, but this is going to keep getting worse and worse until they talk but by then the damage could be done.
My concern is this could lead to further console sales woes, which in turn leads to them not making Xboxs anymore, and then my game library that I've invested in for 3 generations is just... gone.
-Not many games are "play anywhere" -Most game licences won't cover cloud streaming. -Sony/Steam isn't going to honour my purchase history.
I don't care that PS fans get to play Xbox games, it's me waking up to find my library trapped on increasingly ageing hardware and lost when MS closes its gamestore.
As I said before I'm not adding to my Xbox library until I know more because this reaks of third party death spiral, and I doubt Sony is going to be honour those purchases lol
Obviously it depends on what's actually happening, there is a big difference between launching Starfield on PS5 within a year and launching it on PS5 when Elder Scrolls is coming).
Releasing major exclusives on PS feels like point of now return in a death spiral.
Xbox is so far behind and so tainted by them playing possum for the court cases, there is no way anyone will read this as anything but waving a white flag. There is no "4D thinking" that'll stop that spiral when it starts picking up speed.
Less xboxs will be bought, less games will be bought on them, less Devs will choose to release on Xbox, less games on gamepass, so less xboxs get sold and around and around we go.
Soon enough our digital libraries, our history on Xbox is just fodder for cloud streaming and the few "play anywhere" titles on PC.
Until will get clarification from MS I'm not adding to my xbox digital library. It's on thing to spend in a bubble, is another to spend in a bust.
If big Xbox franchises start appearing on PlayStation, and crossplay being standard what exactly is the point of me having an Xbox?
I support stuff like Hi-Fi Rush (something that wasn't going to sell consoles) or Sea of Theives (something that's done sales wise and from last gen) but Starfield and Indy? that's a whole other level.
I get the PC strategy but sharing first-party titles with Playstation seems like the fastest way to "pull a Sega" and as much as I'm a fan of Game Pass, I can't see why I shouldn't have a PS5 instead. It has its exclusives, Xbox games, and VR.
What's weird to me is how quickly this went. We normally get some form of heads up but here it was just "it's suddenly delisted from Steam but still on consoles... and it's gone from there too".
I wonder if it gets a "surprise remaster" in the near future.

Quest 3: Finally got around to playing Walking Dead.

I liked it, but stopping playing after I discovered the other levels are just decoration.

Obviously, we'll be playing as Spartans but boy would it be great to play as ODST dropping into the fall of reach.

This is a very "first-world problem" but I just deleted DI2 last night after the free weekend ended
Re: Multiple Games Announced For Xbox Following February 2024's Nintendo Direct
@eire-shabba I don't think any of the other Star Wars rereleases did, I don't think this one is published by EA either.
Re: These Six Games Are Coming To Xbox Game Pass (February 22 - March 5)
I'm actually happy seeing maneater return. I did quite finish it before and the next gen update hit after it left.

@Kaloudz Agreed. I wouldn't be surprised if the disk drives to stick around exclusively for backwards compatibility.
Barring some technological innovation that supplants disks at retail.

"The only positive I got at all from this was that their next generation hardware will be the biggest leap ever between generations, we'll see."
I'd settle for not having to pick between FPS and Graphic modes anymore.

i'm not expecting this to "fix" any controller but should make some of mine much less annoying to use.
Re: Random: Phil Spencer Has Been 'Liking' Tweets About Xbox And Handhelds
Unless it plays "actual" Xbox games I don't see the point, Windows-based handheld PCs are common now, we don't really need another with an Xbox logo.
But one that natively plays your OG, 360, X1, XS Xbox library, that we don't have. I'd pay for that
Re: Xbox Adds Another 250+ Deals, Including A 'Publisher Spotlight' Sale
It's interesting a lot of activision titles on sale, didn't something similar happen shortly before Bethesda titles started appearing on gamepass?

Some nice offers, still not adding to my digital library till we hear more about their plans.

Not a produced video, or even just Phil with his shelves.
A podcast is going to deliver "the future of Xbox"

@Feffster exactly where I am, I dot care if PS players get access to exclusives, I care about them taking the first step In ending our library.
I've just finished LAD:IW and if this wasn't having over us I would buy the DLC but like hell am I adding anything atm.

Re: Xbox Might Be Looking Into A Handheld Console As PlayStation Rumours Circulate
Ideally, a handheld Xbox would have Series S performance so the base level is the same and it doesn't have a separate library or rely on streaming.
I don't see the point of them releasing a windows device in an increasingly crowed "Handheld PC" market, their USP has to be their existing ecosystem.
