Update (14:45 BST): A whole bunch of additional reviews have just dropped for the Fallout TV show, and this time they contain impressions for the entire eight episodes of the first season! Here are some examples:
- Eurogamer (4/5)
- GamesRadar (4/5)
- IGN (9/10)
- Push Square (Very Positive)
- The Independent (3/5)
Original story (11:00 BST): Today's the day for the Fallout TV show on Amazon Prime! The release date was brought forward earlier this week, meaning it'll now drop on the service at 6pm PT / 9pm ET (April 10th). That also translates to 2am BST on April 11th.
Ahead of its debut, various previews have been taking place for the first couple of episodes over the past few days, and early impressions seem to be extremely positive. Here's a sample of what we've seen on social media so far:
Obviously it's still very early days and these reviews are only for the initial two episodes, but it certainly sounds like the series is shaping up well ahead of its Prime Video release. We've even seen non-Fallout fans saying they loved it!
The best part about this show's debut is that we won't be restricted to two episodes - as the entire eight-episode season will be arriving at the same time. If you end up binging it in a day and you're left wanting more, the good news is that signs already look positive for a Season 2 - apparently it's already being set up to film in California (thanks, Variety).

I can't wait! Looks very promising.
I want this to do well because A) then we get more Fallout and it sounds like we aren't getting that in game form anytime soon, and B) I want this "spin-off in a different medium" approach to be standard when adapting "choices matter" RPGs like Mass Effect and Baldur's Gate. I much rather see a different story from their worlds than weird "best guess" canonised versions of those game's stories.
Looks fantastic! Cannot wait to see it tomorrow!
Hopefully it's good and I can get the misses into it ha and maybe we can finally get the fallout 4 update now
@BBB Hope the next-gen update shadowdrops tonight or tomorrow at most.
And of course that it includes actually good content for free, unlike the cash grab that was Skyrim's Anniversary Edition (only good freebie was literally just the Fishing DLC and even then, it's not that great).
I’m looking forward to watching this series probably over the weekend.
Awesome, I need something good to watch.
Shame it’s on Prime Video, since we now have to pay an extra fee just to watch with no ads and Dolby Atmos/Vision.
Great but usually season 1 of a show is not the issue. It's how it continues through the seasons.
Oh, releasing all at once. That's nice.
I've liked the trailers out, so far. This only solidifies my confidence that it's going to turn out well. Can't wait to watch it!
Probably because it doesn’t look as cheap as halo series
I'll wait for YTers reviews
you forgot to add it is boosted into space with bots on X
@AccessibleDaydream Yes that is annoying. At least I don't have to sign up to another service just to watch it though👍
@TheSimulator It’s also not on Paramount Plus, of all things.
@RetroMan71 There's too many services now.
Yes, there was market consolidation when everything was on Netflix and Hulu. However, with everything spread across many services, there is still market consolidation (because the streaming services that matter are essentially just Hulu, in many pieces, that costs much more) as well as the wonderful addition of headache-inducing anti-consumer splits that reduce the end-user to a mere statistic.
Loving the series so far. Only on episode 4 right now but looking to finish it up this weekend. It's everything I had hope a Fallout TV series would be.
@Tasuki yeah am on episode 3 myself. Enjoying most of it but, is it just me or is the Brotherhood of Steel character totally unlikable. Won't say much so as not to spoil for others but I just can't wait for him to get his 'just desserts '.
