It does seem to be a... silly idea to have these be a true collection (not a combined single package with all the maps across the two games in one) and not support crossplay.
That means not only are you limited to your platform but the player base is going to be split between the two games.
Considering these guys pretty much abandoned their last game, no. The main attraction of Palworld is it's "Ark with Pokemon" hook. Unless MS is interested in making fakemon then it's better to just nab their games for gamepass.
I mean if this is the ONLY expansion I want it to have the same amount of content as previous games' own expansions. I want to be almost a full game itself.
Works out Nicely, I just finished Tales of Arise and the DLC and I need to finish Coffee Talk 2 which should get me to Control.
.
Not sure what happened with No More Heroes and me. Loved the first one but halfway through 2 I wasn't having fun anymore, so I don't know if I'll give 3 a shot.
Like, the final reveal should have a little more umpth so it feels like it's done. At the moment it feels anti-climatic as the final trailer ends and then you realise "oh that's it" . It doesn't have to be fancy, a simple "and finally..." would be enough.
I liked it well enough, style wise it was a lot like Nintendo's Partner Directs.
I do wish it ended better, give the last reveal a little more umpth to close out the presentation. Other wise it just sort of ends and that always makes one of these things feel anti-climatic even if the rest of it was good.
This seems like the sort of thing that's "technically true" but isn't actually what happened. I've never heard a Dev say "We would have made a better world if we didn't have to make different ports".
They could have picked any other aspect like performance, fidelity, gameplay, polish, or even budget and my first response would have been "Fair enough" but "content vs porting" just instantly feels like the response of someone who really doesn't want to say "because money".
I know I can't stop them from chasing the "Live service" cash. But for all our sakes let's move away from the Destiny archetype.
Helldivers meta-narrative is a good example, where the world is on going but also things like Sea of Thieves where you just keep adding to the world and content.
@FraserG I mean it's a huge thing to replay the main game again, I'm no doubt very rusty at the game but the idea of having to face "that boss" again makes my eye twitch, and the kicker it's entirely optional I don't "have to" unlock that outfit
I get that people are upset they didn't go to the Halo, but I'm happy they didn't. Why? because other wise we'd only have what 5 episodes there. I'd rather the event of Halo 1 is give a full season, and rest of season 2 be used to wrap up these other threads
I'm not "out and gaming" that much, if I'm out odds are I don't have time to game, if I have time to game I'm more likely to take my Kindle or drawing book.
That being said I do use "with some frequency" at home. Playing games in bed, when the kids are using the Xbox or screens, that sort of thing. It works really well with my 1GB internet.
The primary "limit" for me using cloud is hardware, ironically. If I use my phone/tablet I need the controller, the android console I have has a small screen that makes anything involving text awkward, the Quest 3 works really well also needs the controller. The bedroom TV doesn't have the GP app and that would mean taking it away from the wife.
@Altaria_97 It is still wild to me that the studio proved it could bring back classic dormant franchises and whatever graphing calculators that pass for a brain at Acti-Bliz decided it was best to make them a CoD support studio.
Considering what happened with RDR2, I don't blame these devs for not trusting Rockstar's motives for wanting them back in the office. Wonder how long before the overtime waivers come back
I'll no doubt be getting it at somepoint down the line. I'm glad the local mp options remain. I don't always need local MP but it happens with enough frequency I need some.
I all ready have access to these games on Xbox via gamepass. The two I would buy are Hi-fi and SoT but getting them on PS5 doesn't really add anything to me. Maybe if they come to Switch 2? At least then I'm getting a native way to play them off the TV instead of streaming to another device.
@umeandgames Yeah. That first playthrough was fantastic, but the other levels took me from "Hell yeah, gonna get this on Switch as well" to "eh, won't get it on Switch too".
The new DLC levels also seem to be just another cosmetic swap.
I'm enjoying season 2 more than season 1, season 1 had too much of Mass Effect 1 thing going on.
I am slightly bothered that they changed cortana again, I started to live the change in season 1 and they changed it to some odd place inbetween "classic" and season 1s design.
@pip_muzz I had to come back to season 1 when 2 came out. My tip to leave halo lore at the door.
I suppose it might not be too long, it's not like they would be making it from scratch. They'll have assets from the Jedi games, they obviously have Apex/Titanfall experience. (with the whole "empire-dominated" thing I assume this is a prequel).
@InterceptorAlpha Yeah that was my thought too, they just keep adding new projects. At this point, we're more likely to see some sort of Titanfall 1+2 remaster before Titanfall 3.
Here's the thing, how many of these 10 games are Acti-bliz titles? (title that was going to come out regardless of what happened with the purchase.) and how many are from the MS and Bethesda?
Xbox has what 30 studios now, 10 games a year feels about right (assuming a 3 year dev cycle)
As everyone noted at the time, there wasn't a reason for that podcast couldn't have been outlined when the rumours started to make "Xbox not making consoles" trending.
I like the talk of preserving out libraries and forwards compatibility (even though it wasn't new) but wasn't happy they didn't really offer anything new in actually protecting our access to them. Like even cloud streaming games we actually own would be a start (I get that's a licencing hellscape)
@GamingFan4Lyf being able to access your actual console Libary on PC would be a massive relief for players. Xbox as a platform might disappear but windows isn't likely going anywhere.
@DesertRanger My worry about an Xbox handheld is that is "just" a Windows-powered handheld. Theres already a bunch of them, I want something that will play my actual Xbox library.
I guess that means we aren't getting a XX (pro), cool.
All I really want from the next generation is ending this era of choosing between graphics and FPS options. It is too much to ask that the "biggest leap ever" means we can have games that both look good and play smoothly?
I did get the feeling a lot of this was about future Activision titles, getting people used to the idea not everything coming out of Xbox going forward is going to be exclusive, stuff like CoD, Overwatch, Diablo are going to keep being Multi-plat.
It was largely what I was expecting. I am not sure why this couldn't have been delivered earlier instead of letting the rumours do damage.
We have a solid idea of what three of these are (HiFi, SoT, Pen) but what is the fourth the other "community-driven" game? Halo multiplayer?
I wasn't happy they talked about respecting our libraries and game preservation but didn't actually offer anything new there (E.g. still no accessing non-GP titles via the cloud, not being able to access our 360 games on PCetc)

Excuse me whilst I turn into dust.

Re: Todd Howard Keeps Fallout TV Show In Check To Avoid Crossover With 'Fallout 5'
I'm taking this as a good sign. The TV show team are on a similar wavelength as Bethesda.

Re: Talking Point: After Two Shows, What Do You Think Of The 'Xbox Partner Preview' Format?
My only complaint is that they just end.
Like, the final reveal should have a little more umpth so it feels like it's done. At the moment it feels anti-climatic as the final trailer ends and then you realise "oh that's it" . It doesn't have to be fancy, a simple "and finally..." would be enough.
Re: Five Games Announced For Xbox Game Pass At March's Partner Preview Showcase
@Kienda I am now going to be extremely disappointed that one of them isn't going to be "legally distinct" Rimmer
Re: Bandai Namco Kicks Off Xbox Showcase With New 'Unknown 9: Awakening' Trailer
I thought it was AC until the animations started to look rough.
Re: Five Games Announced For Xbox Game Pass At March's Partner Preview Showcase
@Decimateh that has to be a "bad ending" for this game.
Hopefully he doesn't try making any concubines too.

Re: 'STALKER: Legends Of The Zone Trilogy' Is Available Today On Xbox
@rustyduck It is weird that it's not on GP, they normally try to get the whole series.
Re: Five Games Announced For Xbox Game Pass At March's Partner Preview Showcase
The only thing that kept going through my head when watching Alters was "RimmerWorld"

Re: Review: WWE 2K24 (Xbox) - Just Like WrestleMania, This Series Continues To Get Bigger And Better
Hows create a wrestler this year?
I'm one of those weirdos who loves the creation aspect of the series.
Disappointed universe mode still isn't getting its due, but I have heard they have finally fixed some bugs that have plagued the last few entries
Re: Here's What Might Be Leaving Xbox Game Pass In April 2024
I'm expecting Medieval dynasty to leave, purely because the co-op update hasn't hit yet.
game leaves gamepass
Game gets co-op
Re: Here's What Might Be Leaving Xbox Game Pass In April 2024
i REALLY need to start playing Coffee Talk 2, apparently, I held off for way too long.
Re: Three Games Will Leave Xbox Game Pass In Early March 2024
Hmm I'm too deep in Tales of Arise to have another JRPG, so Ni No Kuni will be left.
Ship breaker I may give a shot before it goes.

Xbox: Tales of Arise, unless co-oping Dead Island.
Quest 3: Finally got around to playing Walking Dead.
Retro: Gotacha Force on GC

This is a very "first-world problem" but I just deleted DI2 last night after the free weekend ended

@eire-shabba I don't think any of the other Star Wars rereleases did, I don't think this one is published by EA either.

@Kaloudz Agreed. I wouldn't be surprised if the disk drives to stick around exclusively for backwards compatibility.
Barring some technological innovation that supplants disks at retail.

Unless it plays "actual" Xbox games I don't see the point, Windows-based handheld PCs are common now, we don't really need another with an Xbox logo.
But one that natively plays your OG, 360, X1, XS Xbox library, that we don't have. I'd pay for that
