Update: It appears we jumped the gun a bit, as 8BitDo has now announced three new Xbox controllers coming to market very soon, including the "8BitDo Ultimate C Wired Controller for Xbox" as described down below.
The other two controllers are the "8Bitdo Pro 2 Wired Controller for Xbox" retailing at $44.99 in the US, and the 8BitDo Ultimate 3-mode Controller for Xbox retailing at $69.99 in the US. You can find out more about those in the links below:

Original story: It seems like there are always new Xbox controllers hitting the market, with the likes of Turtle Beach, GameSir and of course, Microsoft themselves giving us some great options - and another company that seems to consistently deliver quality Xbox products (at least in our experience) is 8BitDo.
8BitDo's latest offering is an updated version of their "8BitDo Ultimate Wired Controller" for Xbox and PC, with the big feature here being Hall Effect Joysticks. These sticks are said to provide "higher precision and sensitivity" compared to regular analog sticks, and they're often implemented to try and combat against stick drift concerns.
Other features here include a "Fire Ring" lighting system that goes around the two analog sticks, "enhanced gripping and vibration", micro-switch bumpers and d-pad, and a 3.5mm audio jack.
The only downside we can see here is that it's a wired controller (USB-C though) - and that's reflected in the budget-friendly price of $34.99 in the US. Pre-orders are live now, with the release set to take place in the next few weeks.

Very good price for once might pick one of these up thanks for the info!
I love their wireless ultimate controller. I have 2 of them. One of the most comfortable controllers out there.
I just wish we could have a wireless version of Xbox, I get Xbox not wanting that.
I'm not a pro gamer or a "hardcore" PVP player so I don't need the milliseconds of improved latency a wire provides but I am a 30+ gamer who has the trauma of consoles going flying with wires stretching across the living room floor, and my own kids are easily 5x as chaotic as my siblings was.
Might be interested if they make their way over here.
Thats cute and all. But i am waiting for MS to announce the new revised controller with haptics, quieter thumb sticks and buttons etc etc. the leak showed May 2024. I am wondering if they aren’t doing it no more or maybe pushed it to the June Showcase.
Why is it always the crummy controllers that get the Hall sticks? Elite still has the $.005 sticks and you're stuck with them. Sony released a $200 controller and just lets you replace the $.005 sticks for $25 a pop. How can they just not but the $1 stick in and be done with it if the cheap companies can?
Steam Deck, Ally, Legion. Why do these devices that can't afford to have the sticks break not use the sticks that can't break while the crazy cheap Chinese Android mini-console tablets do it?
@NEStalgia thats a great question. My guess is cause Sony and MS and others sell an expensive to make console for losses and make it back on us paying for online play and 14 controllers a gen from them breaking. If they didn’t break we might only buy 2. Again im guessing, but this new rumored Xbox controller better be built better. It won’t but i can hope.
@abe_hikura I agree. If there was a a wireless option for a bit more I'd order it now. I have large dogs and children, so cords are a no go for me.
@Felinox Same, i just prefer wireless controllers.
@HonestHick that’s exactly what it is. it’s always about money
@HonestHick I haven't had a broken controller since the n64 (and the joy cons)
@nomither6 this we know. But it would be nice to see controllers take a more premium approach. I am a controller fanatic. To me it’s what makes the console next to the games. I didn’t buy an Xbox on launch cause of the controller (Duke) then we they shrunk it, i got it and be here ever since. I don’t remember those controllers breaking much at all. Minus people throwing them at lan parties losing in Halo.
@NotoriousWhiz yeah i too have been fairly fortunate. None of my controllers outside of 2 Xbox series controller has gotten drift. But i played loads of hours on those. 600 hours of Diablo 4 and a good amount more on shooters. So i wasn’t that upset. PS5 controllers for me are holding up. I only play a few Nintendo exclusives and so far those are ok for me. But i see and read many stories of some folks on their 4th or 5th controller for said company and that is just way to much. Glad your’s is holding strong 😊
So even the $70 “3 mode” one won’t work wirelessly on series x? Lame! The series x controller is great, but it hurts my hand. So I’m stuck with an Xbox one controller. No one makes decent, affordable wireless series x controllers. I don’t want a wired one. This isn’t 1995!
@HonestHick i still personally rock the xbox360 controller by hyperkin, im so glad hyperkin retro-fitted them so that they can be used with modern hardware; the 360 controller imo is the best xbox controller, love everything about it. i know the d-pad is notoriously criticized but i still prefer it over any later xbox controllers. no stick drift issues either, only "subjective" issue is that theyre wired
@NEStalgia Putting my greedy capitalist (Top) hat on I can see them having the base controller that's bundled with the console having the cheapest sticks as 99% of players won't care about fancier ones as a selling point, and if they break or wear out then that's another controller sold.
Though they SHOULD install them on their "premium" controllers though.
@jesse_dylan I didn't think there was an ergonomic difference between the Xbox One controller and the Xbox Series controller. What difference are you feeling?
@nomither6 360 controller was so so good. Fit my hands perfect. I like the other Xbox controllers i am just wishing they would build them a little better. Not so loud for one would be nice. Glad you found one you like and works for you.
@Scummbuddy there shouldn’t be, but there is. seems to only affect a small minority. On my right hand, I think it’s my pinky and ring finger. Whatever is different, it results in a wrist ache after about an hour. Xbox one controller I can play all day. I live in fear of my single xb1 controller dying! I’ve thought about trying an elite or something, but it’s an expensive gamble. I’ve played every console from the Atari 2600 onward and never had an issue til the series controller.
I have controllers. 1 Xbox Series, 3 Xbox One, 3 8bitdo Xbox Ultimate (previous edition), 1 Gulikit King Kong 2 Pro, 2 8bitdo SN30, 3 8bitdo Zero, 1 set of Joy-Cons, 2 DualSense and 3 DualShocks… and older gen controllers I have in the basement which I'd rather not count… the controllers mentioned are in use.
My DualSense' and Joy-Con are similar in quality, they started drifting less than a year after purchase. And one of my 8bitdo Xbox Ultimate is drifting. What sets the latter apart (and keeps my interest in buying a new one) is that their software is packed with settings and the issue was easily mitigated into just hardware setting the deadzone and pass it down to my kids (my son destroyed it, he's violent with controllers). It's fixable.
Most controllers I have are taken care of with Krytox-lubing the buttons and a clean out every now and then… Getting screwed by Sony or Nintendo I've come to expect, but 8bitdo… they deliver. I just wish I could buy a controller by 8bitdo for PS5…
Hyped for this one! Even if I don't need it it'd be perfect if all of my gaming stations had hall effect sticks.
