@GeorgeKal At least for me, day one and on GamePass is too big of a pull for me. It’s a much better value and that works for me. Especially with all the additional third party day one games we’ve been getting. Just my preference.

I own a PS5 so it’s not like I don’t buy games there too. I just save a lot of money on the Xbox side of things and would continue that no matter what happens with PlayStation ports.

Honestly don’t care about older games or remakes going to PS5 as long as new games are exclusive or at least like a year before they go multiplat.

Getting everything on GamePass day one is still a huge win over buying everything on PlayStation as well.

Also, FWIW, I don’t think we need yet another remake of Combat Evolved. If they do it, we’re going down the path of Sony with all their Last of Us remakes, which has gotten ridiculous.

Played Tchia on PS+. It’s a nice game but never hooked me to keep going and finish it. Maybe I’ll dig into it again on GamePass.

Remember that we also got Hellblade II this month. June has been HUGE for GamePass and more likely to come on Sunday!

Gotta say that I also love that these will be on GP until January 2026. Gives plenty of time to finish and knowing the end date now is fantastic.

@Xbox_Dashboard Octopath Traveler II is $60 on PlayStation though so it’s the same everywhere currently.

The first game also was added back to GamePass. These and Hellblade 2 plus more in the same month. GamePass is killing it!

@Fenbops Weird. I played the game on Series X and didn’t experience any issues with the lip syncing.

Cannot wait for this! Alan Wake 2 was my GoTY last year. Incredible game.

I like it but honestly never had a problem with the current box art.

I liked it but honestly still haven’t finished it. Man does it get hard!

Hellblade 2 is amazing. Definitely lean towards the 9s and 10s it got and not the 6s and 7s. May not be for everyone hence the wide range of scores (81 average is still good IMO) but for me it was a masterpiece as some reviewers like Eurogamer thought. World just draws you in and you become part of it. Such an all encompassing experience and well worth the ride (to me).

I doubt it is exclusive. But never was much of a Warriors fan to begin with so not fussed either way.

Wizardry is a fantastic modern remake and shouldn’t be ignored if you enjoy those kind of games.

Play this on iOS via Apple Arcade. Might have to get it to play on the big screen though. Great game!

Yeah, I wouldn’t be surprised if this was supposed to be announced at the showcase and just was slipped early (for a bit).

@Ricky-Spanish Yeah, the DF article says the Series S actually outperforms the Series X and PS5 in framerate (but with much lower quality resolution, of course).

@Tecinthehead I buy plenty of games. It’s just first party games I know I can play for free. I bought three games this week.

I already have Helldivers 2 on PS5. But if I didn’t own a PlayStation, I definitely would have bought it on Xbox if ported.

Hey, I’ll be happy enough to play this on GamePass while PlayStation folks fork out $70 at release. That’s why I’ll be sticking with Xbox as my main console regardless of a game is “exclusive” or not.

I’m absolutely loving it and it’s far more than a “tech demo” to me. I honestly think the gameplay is improved from the original. The puzzles are more varied and the combat feels like it has weight. It’s also an emotional ride. The graphics and audio just make you feel like you’re there.

It’s a shame some who haven’t even played the game are writing it off. And I will respectfully disagree with those who feel it’s just a tech demo or that you’re just watching a movie. I don’t find the gameplay to be “dull” at all. It’s an experience and one I’m excited to be having.

Both of these are getting nice reviews BTW. Both at 80 on OpenCritic. Looking forward to checking them out!

Hauntii looks interesting. Already swamped with games including Hellblade 2 though! We got a lot of great stuff this month!

This game has an 83 on OpenCritic. Ghost of Tsushima has an 84 on OpenCritic. But apparently an 83 is awful because, well, Xbox.

Eurogamer thought it was so bad they gave it a perfect score!

Some are acting like this is another Redfall. I’m excited. 83 on OpenCritic is good. Sounds like a love it or hate it kind of game. I loved the first game so hopefully am in the former box.

Yeah, it PS games were among the choices, I’d say Heavenly Sword. That’s one game I wish there was backwards compatibility for. Yes, you can stream it on PS Plus but it isn’t the same.

Without that, gotta go with the first Hellblade!

Review embargo was supposedly to cut down on spoilers being posted about it. Not every embargo is a sign of a bad game.

Need to get back to this. Is indeed a great game. Just came out around the time as something else I had wanted to play so got pushed to the side.

Wonder if there will be a 10-hour trial with EA Play/GamePass like other EA Sports games?

Edit: There will be a EA Play trial and it’ll be available early on 7/16. But no word on length.

10-hours would be nice to carry me over until it’s cheap or the full game is on EA Play/GP. 😀

I will always have a soft spot for CoD 2. It was the game that blew me away when I first played it on Xbox 360. And a campaign that I will always remember.

Reading comprehension issue there? I said there have been plenty of indie games launched as DAY ONE ON GAMEPASS, that don’t come to PS5 immediately. Not that there are plenty of indie games that don’t launch on PS5. Two totally different things.

Little Kitty Big City is a recent example.

There’s plenty of indie games that are Day One on GamePass and don’t come to PS5 until later. With this being PS+ Day One, it’s just happening in reverse.

Stray is another game that started as a PS+ game and made its way over to Xbox. I’m sure this one will too.

I know when my boss tells me something that I HAVE to do. I do it. I may not like it. I usually don’t like it. But I do it.

And I’ve been in many situations where I even pushed back against my management and still had to do things I didn’t want to do.

We don’t know and may never know the situation here. But if Phil is boxed in and has to obey his superiors, it’s hard to say ALL the blame lies at his feet.

If he’s at all like the person many have reported about, I wouldn’t be surprised to see him leave Microsoft on his own sooner rather than later.

Time will tell.

Don’t forget that we have heavy hitters coming at the end of May, including Hellblade II. These half-month announcements don’t do GamePass any favors when the back half is where the best stuff is.

Played it on PS Plus Extra and it’s good fun and more forgiving than a lot of puzzle games. Worth checking out!

Slower paced games I might pick quality but, otherwise, performance.

I actually played on both PS5 and Series X last night and wasn’t impressed with the Quality mode on PS5. Honestly think it looks better in Performance mode and that’s what I’ll be using. Had hoped the 40 FPS that’s supposed to kick in on Quality mode if you have a 120hz TV would be good. But it’s not very smooth and, as mentioned, don’t see an image improvement worth sacrificing the framerate for.

Really been looking forward to this one. Surprised you aren’t doing a review. Has an 82 on OpenCritic so far though!

I’d love to get this but just can’t at $70 right now. Wish it was EA so I could at least have a trial to play with.

Size alone isn’t a factor but it does take juggling. I was shocked to see that Harold Halibut was over 50 GB. And will be waiting to play it after I finish another large game.
