It's time for another edition of Pick One! With Senua's Saga: Hellblade 2 launching on Xbox Series X and S this Tuesday (along with PC), we thought we'd take a look back at the rich history of the company's games on Xbox.
We know that Hellblade 2 might overtake the rest for some Xbox fans this week, but in the interest of fairness (considering it hasn't yet launched at the time of writing), we're going to restrict this list to games pre-Hellblade 2.

Enslaved is an amazing game. I wish that was getting a sequel.
Bleeding Edge 🐐🐐
Enslaved for me followed by DmC. Both very enjoyable
My favorite was Heavenly Sword but Enslaved and DmC are right there, I actually like all their games except Hellblade 😅 I will give Hellblade 2 a chance though, I just hope they at least give us a jog/run button this time cause It got so annoying slowly walking everywhere.
Hellblade and Bleeding edge both great games.
For my Enslaved, I really enjoyed it on X360.
Hellblade for me, with Enslaved as a close second.
Yeah, it PS games were among the choices, I’d say Heavenly Sword. That’s one game I wish there was backwards compatibility for. Yes, you can stream it on PS Plus but it isn’t the same.
Without that, gotta go with the first Hellblade!
Enslaved or DMC and that is roughly where they should have gone instead of Hell blade 2.
A big AAA action game made over last 7 years that hell blade 2 as taken.
I’m not saying hell blade 2 won’t be great for some people. But some is the word here.
But Xbox needs mass appeal games if it wants to get more momentum, console and GP sales.
With massive PR and advertising and a physical release.
They should have started a new action game that could have had a sequel or even trilogy story, gaining mass appeal as each game releases with the masses begging for more.
Favorite is Heavenly Sword but that wasn't released on Xbox.
Enslaved. Hands down.
Immediately bought it after playing the demo. The mocap and voice acting are what drew me in. And boy was it a fantastic ride.
One of the few games I'd buy a remaster of.
@OldGamer999 They're creatives and Hellblade is what they wanted to do. That is what interests them the most. We don't want them strongarmed into making an action game (trilogy), right?
You should watch the making of the original Hellblade, if you have the time. The team documented it on video from the beginning.
Enslaved - Loved to see that remade with modern technology/graphics to fully realise their full ambition, not 'hampered' the hardware of the day...
@Ken_Kaniff The best part of Heavenly Sword was aiming long range arrow shots with the Six-Axis. That, and Anna Torv's voice acting.
@theduckofdeath
Maybe that’s one of a good few reasons Xbox is where it is today.
They could have been creative with something else that’s all.
I have no interest in Hellblade 2. It’s too dark and demonic for me (yeah, I’m a wimp).
An Enslaved-like game, or a remake, or sequel would be a day one purchase though.
As others have said Heavenly Sword was my favourite also and it actually saved Ninja Theory from bankruptcy but Enslaved was pretty good so I'd pick that.
Ninja Theory doesn't own the IP's for Heavenly Sword, Enslaved or DMC though.
DmC: Devil May Cry was/is amazing outside of some specific parts so that's my pick.
However, I did enjoy Enslaved: Odyssey to the West a little more as a whole(even though some design choices were a bit goofy).
Shame they haven't done more games like those two.
I have only played enslaved and heckblade 1. I was pretty lukewarm on both and thought they were just okay.
@Tecinthehead I just started Hellblade 1 tonight. There is a jog button.
I only played hellblade out of the list and didn't really get into it. Never knew they made other games. I played their other game that's not on xbox and I enjoyed that. Would be cool if there was a remake of that and multiplatform. I would like to try it out again.
DmC probably. It’s such a game of its era now, but I never got the vitriol it received at release. It’s a solid if try-too-hard effort, but hasn’t Devil May Cry always been this?
Enslaved was one of those games that I absolutely loved. I would dearly love to see it either remade, reimagined, or a sequel to it made. If my backlog of un-played games were not so huge, it is a game that I would happily return to. Whether it holds up to this day (and to my happy memories) is another matter though...
Enslaved was a really cool game.
I'm still trying to finish Pigsy's perfect 10. That s_h_i_t is hard. Way harder than the base game
Enslaved or DMC reboot hmm. I mean I liked the PS3 Heavenly Sword but if only Xbox which I played Enslaved on PS3 but have a 360 copy for BC just encase and I played DMC on PS3 but that aside and I haven't played their Ninja party game on OG Xbox and I haven't some of their other games or the Disney Infinity 3.0 content they made.
I can only say between Enslaved and DMC and while DMC reboot I enjoyed the gameplay ideas and the story was just what is going on of nonsense. Enslaved was a great game story and gameplay.
Scifi adaptation of a classic story that it is but a fair action adventure game for the time that I enjoyed playing in I think 2019 or so. I got the PS3 version in my equivalent to Walmart when they still sold them and probably the 360 version in EB or somewhere else.
I chose Hellblade. Enslaved is a very close second. Loved that game on the x360.
