Eating good with three more Day One games, all of which I am looking forward to! And first half of the month was great too (five total Day One games). Eiyuden alone is a $50 game.
Probably get hate for saying this but I honestly think this is still a bargain at those prices for the number of games you get. Less than the price of one game a year. Depends on how much you like sports, of course, since that’s a substantial part of it.
But I’ll continue to take it at no extra cost with GamePass thank you very much. 😀
@Grumblevolcano I don’t think any exclusives will be coming day and date. It would be like a year later. And they’re also available day one on GamePass, which is a huge reason for me and many other Xbox gamers to want to play on Xbox. Why wait longer and play $70 a pop?
Yes, it really depends on the game. A shooter or story driven action game can be fine at 8-10 hours. RPGs I prefer to be longer, 30+ hours, provided it’s actually good content like Baldur’s Gate 3 or the Persona games.
But regardless, I absolutely hate games that rely on filler. Ubisoft open world games are long because they rely on a lot of boring side quests. Even the Final Fantasy 7 remake games put in way too much boring garbage to pad the length.
A shame people are not only missing out on this but Dragon’s Dogma 2, which right now is my GoTY and is an amazing game, just due to frame rate. And this game isn’t nearly as fast paced as DD2. But to each their own.
@ZuneTattooGuy It’s actually not fixed. It can drop below and can go above. Even if you select a 30 FPS cap, it drops below in cities, etc. It’s definitely not fixed. Read the Digital Foundry analysis of it.
@BRT15 It’s not an entire month, it’s the first half of the month. The second half already includes widely anticipated releases like Eiyuden Chronicle: Hundred Heroes, a $50 day one release that is getting great previews, as well as Another Crab’s Treasure. It’s going to be an awesome month overall IMO.
@Grumblevolcano Well, there’s been a bunch of stories including the one I linked that believe that they are referring to Xbox. If it wasn’t a good possibility, I don’t think there would be stories on other gaming sites with that as the headline.
But sure, it absolutely means everything it Xbox because that’s what this site is about. Pure and simple negativity.
Speaking of exclusives, why has there been plenty of negative stories on this site lately but still nothing about Final Fantasy 16 looking more likely to come to Xbox? Unlike the story about publishers wanting to stop doing Xbox ports, which had no official source, this one has a source - one of the game’s producers.
I’m tired of believing any “insider” who doesn’t name sources. So much of it isn’t true. So until we see something with names and publishers there is nothing here for me.
They also need to fix the checkerboarding on Xbox. Digital Foundry said it was causing the image issues. Are they not fixing that as well?
BTW, I’m having an absolute blast with the game. Outside of cities, the framerate with VRR is smooth and not an issue for me. Does have drops in the cities though.
Reading the Digital Foundry breakdown on Eurogamer, it sounds like checkerboarding is broken on Xbox. That’s what is causing the image issues but sounds like something that should be fixed quickly. And Xbox has a 10% advantage in general when it comes to framerate.
@JonBoyJ Yeah, I’ve been playing this on my Series X with an LG CX and the VRR makes a big difference. As I’ve played more, I’ve noticed a few areas of slowdown but for the most part it’s quite smooth and I’ve been happy.
P.S. I’m waiting for Digital Foundry’s analysis because IGN doesn’t know sh*t.
Got an early copy of this for my Series X and it’s honestly smooth as butter with my LG CX and VRR. So dips in framerate are not something I would be concerned about if you have VRR. Awesome game.
Xbox’s VRR implementation covers a broader range than PS5 so may be why you see more complaints about the framerate on Push Square.
What I thought was that Xbox was coming out with a new console in 2026. I think it would be too close together to do a Pro machine. Xbox may end up beating PlayStation to the punch for a next gen console.
This game is awesome. Great mix of casual and sim mechanics with an old-school coin arcade feel on top of it. If you are a racing fan at all, it would be a travesty to overlook it.
Actually played last night and didn’t have any issues getting into games. Still needs work but had fun and server issues seem to have greatly improved.
Why is there still no story about Grandia HD Collection coming to Xbox? With all the news about other JRPGs skipping Xbox, it’s kind of a big deal that this series will be making its first appearance on the console.
People aren’t realizing that some Microsoft games might not be top 10 but they are still quite high in score. Comments here are acting like they’re all just trash. They aren’t.
Just a few: 90 - Flight Simulator 87 - Psychonauts 2 87 - Hi Fi Rush 87 - Halo Infinite 86 - Age of Empires II 86 - Pentiment
I got it on PS5 due to the price glitch on the UK PSN store (full trilogy for £15.99). Had always wanted to play and, yeah, it’s quite challenging but I’m enjoying it even with the “jank”. The 60 FPS is quite smooth so can’t see the next gen upgrades adding too much other than graphical improvements. So I’m just diving in. At least going to play the first game.
Author of the Washington Post article had to put a correction saying that FF7 is not forever exclusive to PlayStation. I still believe we’ll get it someday….
Glad to see the As and Bs far outweighing the haters. I thought the show was excellent for a smaller showcase. As others have said, they’re likely saving the big heavy hitters for the big June showcase. For what this was, there was a lot I’m interested in that I had never even heard of so to me that’s awesome. Add to that that many of them are going to be on GamePass and I was quite happy.

Re: EA Play Is Getting A Price Increase Outside Of Xbox Game Pass
It’s only $1 more monthly and $10 more annually for the console version. I doubt this will affect GamePass.
Re: Rumour: Destiny 3 Is In Development At Bungie Under The Codename 'Payback'
It needs a restart. As others have said, it’s nearly impossible to get into as a newer player with how convoluted the story has gotten.

Re: Xbox Series X|S Versions Of Hellblade 2 Confirmed To Run At 30FPS
Playing Dragon’s Dogma 2 and it’s a much faster game and very much enjoying it. It’s one of my favorite games of this gen so far.
The previews for this are are all glowingly positive and calling it a next gen showcase. I cannot wait!

Re: Dragon's Dogma 2 Patch Notes Re-Confirmed Ahead Of First Xbox Update
This patch came out yesterday on Xbox. It does seem to make a difference to turn of ray tracing. FPS seems better in towns in particular.

So many great GamePass announcements. The Persona 3 expansion pass and Kunitsu-gami: Path of the Goddess were both huge surprises.
