Re: These 20+ Games Are Coming To Xbox Next Week (August 14-18)

Everspace 2 costs $50 on Steam. That’s a “cheap indie game”?!?

Looks awesome and is already well regarded on PC. Can’t wait!

FWIW, The Texas Chainsaw Massacre also costs $40. So it also isn't some cheap $10 indie.

Not that face value is everything as some have noted there have been $70 AAA have been awful.

Re: Poll: Are You Buying The 'Early Access Upgrade' For Starfield?

awp69

I wouldn’t buy it if it was just early access but I will be wanting the expansion so am thinking about it.

And BTW, there’s a lot of this going on in the industry outside of Bethesda / GamePass. Look at EA, for example, they do it with deluxe editions for almost every game. So it’s not just some sort of GamePass grift.

There’s several day one games in that group, including The Wondering Village, which is supposed to be excellent. I honestly don’t think it’s a bad batch of games if you don’t mind indies.

And remember that GP is really going to be picking up the rest of the year with this just being a partial list of things to come:

Everspace 2
Texas Chainsaw Massacre
Sea of Stars
Starfield
Party Animals
Payday 3
Cocoon
The Lamplighters League
Forza Motorsport
Persona 5: Tactica
Lies of P

Re: Reaction: Game Pass Core Marks The End Of Xbox's Most Influential Product

Yeah, don’t understand some of the comments here saying Xbox Live has gone downhill. Sure GwG has but the actual online portion of Xbox Live has been rock solid. It’s BY FAR the best and most reliable online system. PSN has improved a lot but it’s still not XBL to me.

I have both systems and play all my online gaming on Xbox because it still is a smoother experience IMO.

Hasn’t gotten much attention but looking forward to Exoprimal. Enjoy EDF style games and had fun with the server tests. Not sure I would have paid $60 for it but should be a blast!

Played some of Sword and Fairy last night and it’s pretty good so far. Never played a game in the series before now.

Re: Jim Ryan: Publishers 'Unanimously' Do Not Like Xbox Game Pass

awp69

Of course people talking to Sony’s big wig are going to say they don’t like GamePass. Would you go to the owner or Burger King and tell them how much you love McDonald’s fries?

And if Sony thinks it’s so bad for publishers, besides day one games, what makes PS Plus Extra any better for them? Was the dev of Stray saying how horrific it was to be on their gaming subscription?

Re: Poll: Will You Stay Subscribed To Xbox Game Pass After The Price Hike?

awp69

Outstanding value to me. So many good games, even indies like the recent fantastic RPG Cassette Beasts on Day One. I have PS Plus Premium too and while they have some good games , it’s almost all older games that I have already played or played on GamePass. So GP is a better value to me and this $1 increase is a drop in the bucket compared to the value I get.

Re: Microsoft Is Literally Now Saying That Xbox Has 'Lost The Console Wars'

Big bombshell today from an exchange from Sony’s Jim Ryan that was revealed:

“It is not an exclusivity play at all,” said Ryan. “They’re thinking bigger than that and they have the cash to make moves like this. I’ve spent a fair amount of time with [Phil] Spencer Bobby [Kotick] and I’m pretty sure we will continue to see Call of Duty on PlayStation for years to come.”

Hmmm, so there goes one argument.

Re: Todd Howard Explains Why Starfield At 30FPS Will 'Feel Great' On Xbox Series X|S

awp69

Been playing Final Fantasy 16 and while I almost always choose performance mode in games, the quality mode for it just feels better at 30 FPS than the extremely inconsistent 60 FPS on performance. It’s all over the place with performance and that isn’t as massive of a game as Starfield is (most levels are very linear despite it being made out to be “open world”.)

So FF 16 is making me a convert of when a solid 30 FPS is better. If Bethesda can achieve that (following the clips showing dips) then I’ll be happy.
