We're another day closer to the release of Senua's Saga: Hellblade 2 on May 21st, and that means Ninja Theory is continuing to tease us with new snippets of info and footage - including a closer look at the game's Photo Mode.
As you can see in the video below, the Photo Mode in Hellblade 2 is looking extremely detailed, allowing you to change all sorts of options including how the lighting works and even where the characters are placed in the scene:
The reactions to the video have been highly positive as you'd expect, and if the rest of the game maintains this ultra-high attention to detail, we could be looking at something really special when it finally lands on Xbox next week.
With just a week to go, don't forget that Senua's Saga: Hellblade 2 will be playable with Xbox Game Pass on launch day, available on Xbox Series X, Xbox Series S, PC and Xbox Cloud Gaming. You won't want to miss this!
What do you make of this Hellblade 2 footage? Tell us down in the comments section below.

I, can honestly say, I have never once ever, for a second ever ,thought about a photo mode. I’ve only ever seen it by accident on my ps5 when hitting what used to be the select button by force of habit. Of you dig them cool, but it’s such and unnecessary and useless feature in this humble gamers opinion.
When photo modes went from actually taking a screen shot, to a bunch of BS post processing to make it look better than the game actually does, I lost all interest in them.
With Starfield crashing and burning….haven’t got my hopes up for this…I see average reviews incoming 🤷🏻♂️
I got some crazy shots from the original Hellblade, but this level of customizability is... wow.
People with a lot of patience and an eye for a good shot are gonna be creating some wild screenshots with this game.
@Ralizah
Screenshots….really? I just don’t get it sorry.
Can you change the aspect ratio back to normal?
@JonBoyJ What's not to get? It's virtual photography. Fun challenging yourself to find amazing looking snaps. Fun editing parameters to bring out new elements of the shot.
Is this supposed to be a video game or a tech demo? They should have put the resources that created this towards making a performance mode.
@JonBoyJ Here's my scoring bet:
Largely 8s and 9s across the board. Maybe the occasional 6-7 or, on the other end of the spectrum, perfect 10.
It won't have a metacritic score below 80, but it won't get above a 90. Let's hover around an 87 to be safe.
Ok but can I actually battle or is it controlled and restricted like a movie
I need to get my butt moving and finish the first game!
I do like a good photo mode! Grounded has a great one, as does Shadow of the Tomb Raider and the Uncharted games on PS.

And I can honestly say nothing disappoints me more than a game like this not having a photo mode. It’s a waste not to have one given how easy they must be to implement. I can wind up spending more time strolling around looking for amazing screenshots in games like GTAV than I spend actually playing the game. It’s hugely entertaining for those that enjoy it, can be extremely creative (no different from set photographers in Hollywood really), and can significantly add to one’s overall enjoyment of the game. If you don’t like it, that’s cool, but in my humble opinion it’s stupid not having one as the people who don’t have an interest in it can just utterly ignore the feature.
