Re: Talking Point: Are You Enjoying Indiana Jones And The Great Circle So Far?

awp69

It’s absolutely fantastic. Truly feels like your in an Indiana Jones movie and the first person honestly adds to that feel. The voice acting is wonderful with Troy Baker doing a spot on impression. Great, often funny cut scenes. Environments and puzzles are true to the Indy spirit. Graphics and performance are excellent.

It’s up there with Metaphor Refantazio as GoTY for me.

And, also, I’m paying because I know I’ll want the expansion pack. The early playtime is just a bonus. Not sure why people are acting like that’s all you get.

Having played about 8 hours I’m absolutely loving this game so far. Right now it’s an easy 9 and up there with Metaphor Refantasio for my GoTY. Glad the vast majority of reviewers found it as mesmerizing as I have.

And, despite having initial concerns, I am so glad they went with first person. It really adds to the experience of feeling like you “are” Indy.

Re: Talking Point: What Are Your Overall Thoughts On Xbox Game Pass In 2024?

awp69

@Decimateh I think the dropping of three big AAA games, COD Black Ops 6, Flight Simulator 24 and Indiana Jones, likely was the reason for the smaller number of games towards the end of the year. I personally would rather have a handful of good DAY ONE games than a smattering of older indie and mid games that I may have already played anyway.

It’s the main reason I prefer GamePass to PS Plus Premium as well. I like getting newer games to try. And find if an older game comes on PS Premium, if it’s any good, I’ve likely played it already. Many “big” AAA games they get have been on sale for $10 or less by time they get to it.

It’s been absolutely fantastic for me.

Palworld, Persona 3 Reload, MLB The Show 24, Hellblade 2, Octopath Traveler II, Neon White, Dungeons of Hunterberg, Flintlock Seige at Dawn, Still Wakes the Deep, Kunitsu-Gami: Path of the Goddess, Creatures of Ava, Age of Mythology Retold, Wargroove 2, Mech Warrior 5 Clans, Flight Simulator 24, Call of Duty Black Ops 6, Stalker 2, Nine Sols and Indiana Jones are just SOME of the DAY ONE games to launch on the service the year that were great games that I played. And lots of quality older ones that (mostly sit in my backlog because there are just too many new games).

Outstanding year for GamePass!!!

Re: Review: Indiana Jones And The Great Circle (Xbox) - A MachineGames Misfire

Ok. We get it. Eurogamer, IGN and GameSpot are trash. And I guess the other 40-ish sites that gave the game an 8+ are also trash.

This game is trash. Games like Stellar Blade are also trash because they got good reviews from some of the same sites. Heck even Astro Bot must be trash since it got a 5/5 on Eurogamer and that’s a really bad sign!

Re: Review: Indiana Jones And The Great Circle (Xbox) - A MachineGames Misfire

awp69

@andrewsqual Well, based on my experience they don’t give a lot of 5/5 scores so that’s why it surprised me.

But it doesn’t matter, I can ignore them since it’s been getting at least an 8 on 90% of the reviews on Metacritic anyway. It’s been incredibly well received. And now that I’ve played it, I love it and that’s the opinion I care about the most.

Re: Review: Indiana Jones And The Great Circle (Xbox) - A MachineGames Misfire

awp69

Just want to also say that I was also worried about the first person view. But having played several hours last night, I’ve been converted. It works great and I honestly do think it gives you more of a feeling of “being” Indy and not just controlling a character on the screen. I’m glad it turned out well in that respect.

Re: Review: Indiana Jones And The Great Circle (Xbox) - A MachineGames Misfire

awp69

I think it’s fine to have a different opinion but at least some of us are just saying to look at other reviews too. This is the literally the lowest score on Metacritic. There is just one 60 (this 6/10), two 70s and FORTY reviews that are 80+.

Not unfair to say this is an outlier when 90% of reviewers are giving it 8+. Just don’t let one opinion change your mind about the game. Only true review for anyone is their own but if you need guidance, read more than one opinion.

Re: Xbox Handheld Has A Big Potential Advantage Thanks To The Series S

awp69

@Savage_Joe There’s a big difference between having a device that can stream games from a PS5 than an actual standalone handheld. I can play games from my console or stream others from GamePass already using my phone and a Backbone. So all Sony really has done is attach their fancy controller to a screen to do the same exact thing.

MS didn’t have to make something that people can already do on their own.

Re: Poll: What Do You Think Of Stalker 2 On Xbox Game Pass So Far?

awp69

It’s fantastic. Have encountered very few bugs, runs well and captures the feel of the old STALKER games while updating it with many quality of life items.

I’m in the camp with the good scores the game got (and there are MANY of them):

PC Gamer 83
GameRant 9
GameSpot 8
IGN 8
The Sixth Axis 9
True Achievements 9

And many others. I only put those as examples so people don’t read one 4/10 review here and base your opinion on that alone. It’s still 79% positive on Steam as well!

Re: Review: Stalker 2 (Xbox) - GSC Game World's Long-Awaited Sequel Is A Mess

awp69

@oopsiezz Or the reviewers reviewed the game before two major day one patches perhaps? I can only tell you what I’m experiencing with no rose tinted glasses. Maybe until you play the game your self you can stop judging others opinions.

Game has 80% positive on Steam as well and PC has those “problems” as well.
So all 80% of those folks are also playing an imaginary version in your own mind.

Heck the game has 77% on OpenCritic.’It wouldn’t be that high if it was completely broken.

Re: These 10 Games Are Coming To Xbox Game Pass (November 4-19)

awp69

@Bartig No, there’s three. Goat Simulator Remastered and Flight Simulator 2024 are also coming.

So for all those complaining, this is the value we are getting from DAY ONE games in November:

Metal Slug Tactics - $24.99
Goat Simulator Remastered - TBD
Flight Simulator 2024 - $69.99
S.T.A.L.K.E.R. 2 - $59.99
Nine Sols - $29.99

With Goat Simulator, that’s likely over $200 worth of DAY ONE games in one month. I would much rather have just those five new games than 20 crappy old games.

But don’t subscribe if it’s not valuable to you. For me, it’s an incredible month. Perhaps one of the best GamePass months ever.

Not a big fan of Goat Simulator myself but all the others are games I’m excited for.
