Kind of weird that the Push Square article says Sony has locked the FF 7 trilogy as exclusives and not to ever expect them to come to Xbox or Nintendo unless Sony themselves changes their minds. This article makes it seem like the exclusivity is just for a period of time and gives more leeway that they could come eventually. Which is true?
I’ve been playing it and had a blast at first but honestly it gets dull after a while. With the same types of short missions. I think it needs to get some more meat on the bones to truly be amazing IMO. Still fun for short bursts but not as fantastic as others make it - to me at least.
I’m not going to get hopes up for anything other than what’s announced as being there. But will be happily surprised if there’s some good new announcements.
I’ve kind of been wanting Talos 2 but 60+ GB for a puzzle game is a lot of real estate for me. Have a bunch of big name games already juggling for space.
@hbkay What the hell are you talking about? So Persona 3 Reload on Day One last month was a 7/10 AA game that normally costs $60? Oh wait, it had a 88 on OpenCritic.
MLB The Show 24 on Day One is another 7/10 AA game that happens to cost $70? But I’m sure that’ll be a poorly received Sony release.
Of course that isn’t including all the crappy games like Diablo 4, Tales of Arise, Bloodstained, Resident Evil 3, Dead Island 2, Open Roads, etc.
Honestly surprised Monster Hunter Stories is still being ported. It’s been on mobile for years. If you really wanted to play it, you can play it there. (It’s available on both iOS and Android). No big deal.
Soul Hackers 2 is one of those games I started to play but you start to realize that there’s so many better RPGs on GamePass that it’s hard to justify sinking too much time into it.
Tales of Arise and Return to Grace are also included as part of the “second half” offerings. So it’s not as bad of a list if you also include those.
February as a whole was a pretty great month IMO:
Persona 3 Reload
Anuchard
Train Sim World 4
Madden 24
Resident Evil 3
Bloodstained: Ritual of the Night
A Little to the Left
Plate Up!
Return to Grace
Tales of Arise
Bluey: The Videogame
Maneater
Indivisible
Space Engineers
Another big thing was them reiterating that all first party games will be on GamePass day one, unlike all the doom and gloom rumors saying that was ending. They not only said it but said it multiple times.
No big deal. Some older games go multiplatform. Bigger games like Starfield and Indiana Jones stay exclusive. All first party games still going to GamePass Day One.
This is not the “death of Xbox” as some have said.
I’ve been playing it (flew to New Zealand 😃) and it’s a great port overall. But agree that brightness is an issue. I sometimes switch to classic graphics just to see better in darker places.
It’s also been all over Twitter today that the Starfield PS5 rumor was false, with the originator, Nate the Hate, saying he was owing up to the mistake.
BTW, for people who are saying they’re going to kill Day One on GamePass, Xbox literally had a blog post last week where every first party named said it was coming to GP on Day One. Don’t think they’d be mentioning that this recently if they planned to kill it off.
I almost don’t want to read the comments here. The rumors, speculation and doom and gloom has gotten out of hand. I’m just going to wait it out until we hear it straight from the horse’s mouth.
The hysteria over this is ridiculous. I read another article that said two new Xbox consoles were being made, one being a fully functional, dockable handheld. Not sure if we will hear about this next week but we need to wait for real news. There’s too many rumors and many conflict with one another.
Season 2 is getting good reviews. I didn’t make it past the first few episodes of Season 1. But maybe I’ll give the new season a shot to see if it’s as much of an improvement as some critics are saying.
@Shushibda Even Tom Warren, the guy who started a lot of this says people need to relax because not everything may happen. There seems to be a lot of hedging by other people that we’re all doom and gloom a few days ago. I really don’t give a crap what anyone says right now. Just going to wait to hear the reality next week.
@UndyingInsurgent95 Defending what decision?!? Nothing has been announced. That’s the point of this article. Let’s wait to hear the truth before launching into crazy diatribes hating on Xbox.
@rustyduck See my post above this one. How in the hell is that a flood of child cartoon games? A AAA horror game, AAA RPG, AAA sports game, a popular enthusiast game with Train Sim World 3. An acclaimed Metroidvania that is certainly not for children.
I have some of them but that’s a pretty dang great list. RE3 and Tales of Arise are both fantastic AAA games. Always good to have the latest Madden game. And Little to the Left and Plate Up! look like great indies. Something for everyone!
And the Bloodstained games are great Metroidvanias.
Could it be that Microsoft really hasn’t decided on the path forward and arguments are still taking place in management? Someone leaked the ideas to try to sway the tide against it? That would explain why they aren’t ready to talk about it.
@Kaloudz You’re one of the only ones here that is making any sense. This isn’t the end of Xbox even if the rumors are true. It could indeed help bring in revenue to make the Xbox ecosystem and GamePass stronger for the long haul.
But let’s see what Uncle Phil has to say. Just wish it wasn’t going to be a week. Already tired of reading all the doom and gloom comments here and on Twitter. May need to take a break until this is sorted out.
Honestly, if we get games earlier on Xbox and Day One on GamePass that’s still a big enough reason for me to want to stick with Xbox. It may even get better if MS has more money to developer bigger, better games and maybe even get more third party Day One games on GamePass.
There’s a possible brighter side to all this news. Day One games on GamePass before PlayStation even gets them is value for me.
All that said, we really MS to come out and clarify all this.
Everyone thinks the sky is falling with Starfield and maybe Indy going to PS5. Very surprised not to see an article here yet. PushSquare is all over it.
@CaptainCluck We have no idea what that game will be like. Certainly not enough to automatically say it’s going to be worse. I’m cautiously optimistic about it.
Nice to seemingly be able to rely on getting the latest version every year on GP. Crazy to think that it was one franchise that I always enjoyed firing up my PlayStation for.
I probably have about 100-150. But the vast majority have already been replaced with digital. Most too worthless to trade in or sell but gotta get rid of them at some point.
I’m probably 95% digital with new purchases. Usually only buy physical if there’s some great deal on it. I think it would be ashame if they discontinued physical because I understand collectors and those who just want a real disc.
But let’s face it, nearly every game has a day one patch these days so you will never own the “full” game on disc.
They’ve always had this on the PS Remote Play app and had wondered why MS didn’t do the same. Still clunky and sometimes like the way touch is more tailored to each game that has it for cloud gaming. So there’s pros and cons.
@Kaloudz Yeah, was hoping someone here might see that comment and put up a story. Pretty depressing news day for MS so at least some happier news there.

Re: Free-To-Play Brawler MultiVersus Appears To Be Teasing Its Return
This was actually pretty decent. Wish it was just a premium game without all the F2P BS.
Re: These Six Games Are Coming To Xbox Game Pass (March 7-19)
Nice list. Remember that there’s also games coming at the end of the month including Diablo 4.

Re: Talking Point: Do You Make Use Of Cloud Gaming On Xbox Game Pass?
I usually prefer streaming from my console rather than the cloud. Just seems more consistent.

That’s a pretty damn good list already.
Re: Xbox Game Pass's SteamWorld Build 'Fell Short Of Expectations' For Publisher Thunderful
Yeah, I don’t think GamePass was the only problem here. The game just wasn’t as good as others in the series.
Re: Dying Light 2 Receives 'Biggest' Update Ever, Here Are The Full Patch Notes
Yeah, I’m also curious to see how well guns work when thrown into the mix.
Re: Five More Of Xbox's Rare Classics Are Now Available For Switch Online
Kind of funny because there’s a story on Nintendo Life about people being pissed that Rare Replay hasn’t been ported to Switch.

Re: Xbox Announces Four Games Going To Other Consoles, 'Not Starfield Or Indiana Jones'
Will likely be Sea of Thieves, Grounded, Hi-Fi Rush and Pentiment. Two live service games and two smaller games. All at least a year old.
