My current go-to game is Dragon Age The Veilguard. I’m about 25 hours in and really enjoying it. I’m using a warrior build, and will probably lean into the Champion spec once I hit level 20. Also playing Forza Motorsport, and Thronefall on Switch. I’m not starting any other games right now as next week I’ll be playing MFS 2024 and Stalker 2 (which reminds me, I need to clear some space on my Xbox 😂)

Wow…this come out of nowhere 😱 As someone who has played this on PS4 and PS5 I highly recommend it. It looks absolutely gorgeous on PS5, so imagine it’s the same on Series X. Granted, it won’t be everyone’s cup of tea though. For me, I got the most joy out of traversing the beautiful environments, carrying your cargo load and doing deliveries. Combatting enemies or BTs was actually my least favourite part of the game. But give me miles and miles of a desolate environment, whilst carrying a full load of cargo and I was in gaming heaven 😃 This game really is about the journey, not the destination.

Have almost finished Star Wars Outlaws. The last couple of missions - which are heavy on stealth - are starting to drag. On the whole though I have enjoyed the game. UPDATE Doesn’t look like I’m going to finish it. I’m literally right near the end of the game - “Revelator” mission - and my game has bugged 😡 I’m stuck in space, can’t fast travel anywhere, can’t use hyperdrive…so annoying. It’s quite ironic because I’ve hardly seen any bugs in my play through, then right at the end 🙄
I finally caved this week and bought Space Marine 2. Never played the first one, but am enjoying this one so far. Graphics are really nice too, even in performance mode.
I’ve finished the bulk of Astro bot on PS5, just finishing the mini levels and mopping up missed bots on some of the main levels. Really good game, though don’t agree with Edge magazine’s 10/10 score.
Am thinking of pulling the trigger on Parcel corps. Looks like a fun indie game, though the price - £30 - has surprised me a bit, so might wait for a sale.
Have also downloaded the trial of EAFC 25. Haven’t played FIFA/EAFC in years so am a bit rusty 😂

Still plugging away at Star Wars Outlaws on Series X. Have around 38 hours under my belt now, and even though I’ve thoroughly enjoyed the game I think I’m ready to move on, so will now concentrate on just the main quests.
On PS5 I’m still playing the excellent Astro Bot. I’ve now saved around 210 bots, so still plenty to find.
I’ve just bought indie game Caravan Sand Witch on PS5. Nice, chilled game to play, and loving the Mediterranean vibes.

Star Wars Outlaws (Series X). Clocked up around 30 hours so far and still enjoying it. Have only this week gone to Tatooine for the first time. Could have gone earlier but was saving it 😂 saying that, I still haven’t gone to Mos Eisley yet - I’m saving that now 🤣

Astro Bot (PS5). Serious GOTY contender here. I’m only doing 1 or 2 levels a day, and just taking my time. Amongst all the family friendly levels there are some really tricksy ones too!

The Plucky Squire (PS5/PS+ extra) Really nice concept, and love the way the game seamlessly transitions between 2D and 3D. However, I’m not a fan of the word puzzles, which are very tiresome 🥱

Mostly jumping between Star Wars outlaws (Series X) and Astro Bot (PS5). Have played around 17-18 hours on SWO and am really enjoying it. Astro Bot was only released yesterday so have only played around 2 hours but it’s been great fun so far. Trying to limit my gaming sessions on Astro because I know it’s not a huge game and I don’t want to rush through it.

@Lup the Avatar game is nowhere near as good as Star Wars Outlaws, and I liked the Avatar movies. Avatar (the game) looks gorgeous, but that’s about it. I got bored with it very quickly. Obviously this is just my humble opinion, I’m just saying watch some YouTube videos first, or if you can try the game for free first do that. Glad you’re enjoying Star Wars Outlaws, I’m loving it so far.

Mostly playing Star Wars Outlaws, which I’m loving so far. It has a good balance of exploration, combat, and stealth, and I haven’t even done any space combat yet! Have mostly been doing stuff on Toshara (the windy planet), including side quests and unlocking abilities through the experts. Nix is quite cute, and often very helpful. This is the first game probably since Stellar Blade where I actually look forward to getting home and playing it 😀

Re: Digital Foundry Compares 30FPS, 40FPS & 60FPS Modes In Star Wars Outlaws For Xbox

Nightcrawler71

Unfortunately my TV doesn’t support the 40fps option 🙁 I’ve been playing in performance mode and haven’t really had any issues. I’m sure Ubisoft will be further optimising the game anyway. Another interesting point in the DF video was regarding the widescreen (21:9) picture option. If you use it in normal gameplay (it defaults to it anyway for cut-scenes) it seems you actually lose some of the picture. Rather than optimising the picture for widescreen, it seems Ubisoft have just slapped some black borders on the normal (16:9) image. The 21:9 option may look more “cinematic”, but I’m sticking with the 16:9 (fill screen) option.

Apart from my staple racing games - Forza Motorsport and EA WRC - I seem to be in something of a gaming rut at the moment. Recently tried Flintlock Seige of dawn and Kunitsu-gami path of the goddess, but just couldn’t get into either. Have now downloaded Lies of P and Callisto protocol, and will see how I get on with them. That’s one of the great things about GP - being able to just try out different games and see what clicks.
