So.just wrapped up the Vatican and all I can say is OMG what an epic time I had. Everything I did from exploring the temple.to making.my through the Vatican vaults just oozed with Indy feeling. I especially love the giant fight (R.I.P. Tony Todd). I seriously didn't want to stop.playing the game. Thankfully I have tomorrow off from work, so I know what I will be doing tomorrow.

Started Giza yesterday and I already cleared two fieldwork assignments and am currently going around collecting the collectibles and just getting familiar with the area. Alot more open then the Vatican it seems. I already got the digsite disguise and found the Nazi fighting area which I am guessing I will need a Nazi disguise to enter it like the blackshirt in the Vatican.

@Tasuki Gizeh really is a wonder to explore. So far I can’t fault the level design, the sheer genuine sense of discovery is unmatched. There is a boxing ring yes and I managed to beat this one, I really suck at boxing.
Massive, massive quantities and a glass of water, sweetheart. My socks are on fire!
Got a bit further in the story yesterday. I infiltrated Voss's office after that I did some exploring. I managed to get the Nazi uniform so now traveling around Giza is a whole lot easier. Doing so I was able to enter the boxing ring, finish that, grab a bunch of medicine bottles, books and relics overall a fairly accomplished time.
My biggest grip is I wish there was some sort of vehicle in the game at least in Giza at least let me grab a motorcycle. While the Vatican wasn't to bad to travel mainly cause everything was so close together and you can go across the rooftops, and climb through the different buildings in Giza everything is just so spread out. As a result I can only play an hour or so before I just get tired of aimless traveling. I don't know about later levels and quite frankly I don't want too but this is my biggest gripe with Giza.
@PeaceSalad Boxing is about defending and counterattacking just twice each time, but you can "cheat" if you lower the combat difficulty and lower the damage that enemies cause.
@Tasuki Upgrade your stamina when possible and before your health (that you can improve in the difficulty menus). I enjoyed the exploration in this game immensely. I only found Sukhothai a bit more frustrating to navigate, but it also brings variety, a boat that Gina can bring if you call her, more water that looks stunning in this game, interesting underground puzzles and underwater challenges. Remember also that you can fast travel if you check the signposts, so you don't need to walk all the time.
@Banjo- Thanks pal appreciate that, I think I’m getting the hang of it now. I’m always reticent to adjust difficulty mid flow probably through stubbornness more than anything else, as evidenced by my current experience with Spider-Man 2. I really dislike the combat and could have probably had a better time by tweaking the difficulty so I could just have a nicer time 🤷
@PeaceSalad I understand the stubbornness, we want to know what's wrong and how we are supposed to solve it. Something I like about Indiana Jones and the Great Circle is that the interaction and puzzles are logical and realistic. I'm not a fan of Insomniac and Naughty Dog's games because the gameplay isn't good, they can only nail the cinematic feel.
@Banjo- Absolutely, the puzzles are very intuitive, I get a proper buzz from solving them. I had a mishap with one though where a piece I needed to solve a puzzle had fallen down a staircase and I was pulling my hair out why none of my solutions were working. It wasn’t until I did another sweep of the area after around 15 minutes that I realised what had happened and then the puzzle was done in seconds 😂

I’ve made it to what seems like the final stretch and oh boy what a ride. Some brilliant set pieces and puzzles in the previous area Sukhothai and I actually didn’t mean to move on but ended up swept up in proceedings without realising as is typical of a classic Indy story. I actually think Troy Baker’s performance improves over the course of the game, it’s uncanny while also having a flavour all his own.
Someone needed to create this kind of story for one of the previous two films, oh well
Rolled the credits last night. Bravo, bravo 👏 the perfect distillation of the magic of the films into the interactive form factor of a game. All credit to Machine Games and the incredible cast. Voss was a riot. I’m a happy gamer today 😃
That’s the 💯 for the game and I’m gutted there’s nothing left to do. One of my great privileges to experience this game. Had a small issue with completing the notes in Sukhothai which seems to be a common occurrence photo of Uncle Sunan I managed to find a work around involving hint photos.
Well finished up Giza today and continued on with the story. I gotta say I loved the battleship level had alot of fun with that one. I tackeled it by doing alot of shooting for some reason it just felt right lol. I also managed to go through Shanghai which I loved the Last Crusade reference during the airplane part and started Siam. I will say that they story really picks up once you finish Giza. Looking forward to playing some more my next day off of work.

So got.a question for you all are you collecting the ancient relics? Cause there are a few in some levels I am wondering if I need to come back and get later. Should I just go forward with the story and once I am done come back to the levels? Once you beat the story can you go back to the levels?

@Tasuki I 100% the game, and you can go back and do stuff you missed once you've beaten the game. You can just use the fast travel mechanic to go to any of the previous levels
Well I can sadly say that I dropped Indiana Jones and the Great Circle. Don't get me wrong it's a great game and definitely my GotY for 2024. It really hit that nostalgia vibe with me and really capture the feel of Indy to a T. It's probably the best Indy story since Last Crusade. It's just my game time is very limited and right now Avowed has taken that spot.
I just don't have time for two huge games and right now Avowed just has me hooked unlike any game I have played since WoW. Maybe cause it's a new IP to me (I haven't played Pillars of Eternity) and with Indy I pretty much know how it's going to end. Still though I plan to go back to it at some point but for now I am going to have to let it go
