Assassin's Creed Shadows Set To Feature Two Graphics Modes On Xbox Series X

After multiple delays, we're finally almost ready to check out Assassin's Creed Shadows on Xbox later this month, and the good news for 60FPS fans is that Ubisoft has confirmed there will be two graphics modes on Series X specifically.

The first of these is 'Quality', which runs at 30FPS and presumably native 4K, while 'Performance' is a 60FPS mode that runs at "2160p upscaled" and is said to provide an "impressive" experience despite the slight visual drawbacks.

"We're happy to confirm that both the PS5 and Xbox Series X will allow players to play at 60FPS 2160p upscaled, in performance mode."

Curiously, Ubisoft is remaining quiet on the Xbox Series S specs for now, telling reporter Genki_JPN that they'll be revealed "later". There's obviously hope that a 60FPS mode will be implemented on the Series S, but the console's significantly lower specs suggest that owners might have to make do with 30FPS - at least at launch.

Genki's report also mentions we're looking at around a 30-40 hour main game, and double that ("or much more") when including all the side content. That's a lot of content to get through, and we can't wait to get stuck into all of it very soon! Assassin's Creed Shadows launches March 20th, with pre-orders live right now on the Xbox Store.
