I nearly leaped off my chair when it was announced back in 2021 that not only would MLB The Show 21 be coming to Xbox for the first time, but it would be part of Xbox Game Pass as well. That's the remained the case with MLB The Show 22, 23 and 24... but for the first time, MLB The Show 25 is not coming to Xbox Game Pass at launch.

There hasn't been an official explanation about why MLB The Show 25 isn't an Xbox Game Pass title, but ultimately they don't need to explain themselves! Unfortunately, it means we're looking at a full-priced release in order to play it.

"The game will not be on platform subscription services in 2025. "

The game has been out in early access for a few days, and players seem to be enjoying it on the whole - which makes the decision about whether to buy it even harder! Some of the new features include a revamped Road to the Show mode, an expanded Diamond Dynasty experience and a new season of Storylines allowing you to relive baseball history.

If you're wondering, the official release date for MLB The Show 25 on Xbox is March 18th, 2025.

Of course, MLB The Show 24 remains part of Xbox Game Pass as things stand, but we're expecting it to be removed in the very near future. There's always the option of trying to pick up that game at a much cheaper price if you can find it, but the allure of a new iteration will probably prove too much for many of us!

So, now that MLB The Show 25 isn't coming to Xbox Game Pass, will you be buying it on Xbox?
