Update []: It's been announced that Descenders Next has sadly been delayed at the last minute, so it's no longer coming to Xbox Game Pass on April 9th as first reported. A new date will be revealed at some point in the future.
Original Story: The Xbox Game Pass lineup for April 2025 was already stacked until we got to today, and now Microsoft has gone and revealed a bunch of other new additions for this month - including Borderlands 3 and Diablo 3!
As usual, there are a few new additions to Xbox Game Pass Standard in this roundup as well, the majority of which were already part of Game Pass Ultimate in the past. You can see which games are Standard titles in the tier below.

Along with these, seven games will be leaving Xbox Game Pass in early April 2025, including the likes of Harold Halibut and Kona. They'll be discounted by at least 20% until they're removed from the service.
In terms of what's arriving later in April, we've got two particularly big arrivals confirmed in Clair Obscur: Expedition 33 and Towerborne, both of which launch on April 24th and 29th respectively. It's going to be a fun month on Game Pass!

Looks like a list of fillers as only Blue Prince and South of Midnight are new and shiny for me. Commandos and descenders new are new but not sure they appeal
So I've been hearing stories Diablo 3 Ultimate is THE Diablo game above all others....Guess it's time to find out 🙂

@FraserG Do happen to know why Descenders Next wasn’t in the official announcement today and not on the Xbox Wire article? Is it getting delayed? Or now not coming to GamePass?
@awp69 Heard nothing on my end, so I'm presuming it was a mistake and it's still coming - but will update the list if that changes.
South of Midnight is probably the biggest highlight for me here.

I didn't realize Still Wakes the Deep hadn't been on console yet - anyone looking for a short, gorgeous, brilliantly voice acted 70's oil rig riff on The Thing/Color Out of Space with a bit of Alien Isolation or Soma thrown in should absolutely check it out. It's fairly limited from a mechanical perspective but succeeds with a tight little story and excellent atmosphere.

@IronCrow86 It's my favourite Diablo despite its more cartoonish aesthetic. Great in co-op. I got a bit overwhelmed and burned out by 4 although it's still a great game.
It has been on the Ultimate Game Pass, @16BitHero. It's now going to the Standard tier too. I often find these lists somewhat misleading myself. I'm sure that's not what is intended, but personally, I would prefer a tier specific list, even if it means a title appearing in multiple lists...
@Fiendish-Beaver ah that's on me for miss-reading the article, this third tier is a bit silly though. I played it through PC Gamepass.
Blue Prince looks FIRE. Looking forward to South of Midnight and Descenders Next too. Stacked month for me. Can't keep up.
@FraserG so, they are adding Diablo 3: Reaper of Souls - Ultimate Evil Edition, which is now 10+ years old... But without the necromancer class? It is still sold separately? Kinda greedy

So Diablo and Borderlands comes with all the dlc? That's cool.
I played Diablo 3 to death but that was on PS4. Might be a good excuse to boot it up again. I fell off D4 before I even beat the story campaign. Wasn't bad, just didn't hold my interest at the time. Being on Gamepass kind of changes my attitude on games too, there's not that "I paid good money for this" compulsion I might have if I dropped full price for it.
@IronCrow86 D3 is entertaining enough but I find it has very limited appeal at end game as its just very bare bones. Still well worth a play just to romp through the story if you want to connect the narative from D2 through to D4.
