Update []: It's been announced today that following the closed beta, Killing Floor 3 will be getting delayed until some point later in 2025. The studio behind the game says it "missed the mark" with the beta and wants to address players' concerns:
"After taking the time to gather and discuss feedback from our recent closed beta, we've realised that we missed the mark. Our goal isn't just to make Killing Floor 3 an ambitious step forward for the franchise, but also to maintain the core experience that you've come to know and love."
"With the full support of our parent company Embracer Group, we're working together on a timeline to address many of the common issues players had during the beta, including performance/stability, UI/UX, lighting, and weapon feel. While it's too early to say which fixes will be implemented by launch, we can confirm that an update allowing you to independently select your perk class and character is planned for post-release."
The team remains excited to show off a more polished version of Killing Floor 3 later this year, and has thanked fans for their "continued patience and overwhelming support". We'll let you know when a new date is announced.
Original Story: Developer Tripwire Interactive has announced that Killing Floor 3 is coming to Xbox consoles on March 25th, unveiled as part of the team's Siren reveal trailer - which you can watch through up above.
If you haven't played the Killing Floor series before, think Gears Horde mode / Call of Duty Zombies and you're about there - these games focus on wave after wave of 'Zed' slaying as opposed to a full narrative campaign.
Here's how the team sets up the series' third outing:
"It’s 2091 and megacorp Horzine has produced the ultimate army: an obedient horde of bioengineered monsters called zeds. Now, join the rebel group Nightfall in this co-op action/horror FPS that puts you and your teammates in a battle for the future of humanity."
On top of that fresh release date, Tripwire has also revealed that a closed beta is coming for Killing Floor 3; taking place between February 20-24. You can sign up for this closed beta right now via the game's website - and we'll also drop the team's beta trailer down below.
Pre-orders are set to go live shortly on the Xbox Store and at retail, with the base edition coming in at $39.99.
Looking forward to wiping the floor with some Zeds, PXers? Talk to us about Killing Floor 3 down in the comments.

I haven't played KF2 for sooooo long. I might pick it up and dive into this new one if it holds up at launch.
Let’s release it closer to GTA 6, what could possibly go wrong 👀
@Kaloudz I'd recommend watching some YouTube videos on KF3. It's.. Killing Floor in name only. It really looks like they AI generated a co-op hero shooter based on Doom.
Some aspects look really neat, like levels with objectives, but in general the game just looks.. bad.
@Elbow LOL! I did that as soon as I read this and can totally see why it's been delayed. That said, does this small delay really give enough time for the amount of change it needs to retain what made it decent to begin with? O_o
@Kaloudz I personally don't think so. I'm thinking that maybe they'll re-work the lighting and make the maps more grimy to fit with the style of the first two, but the huuuuge issues are there to stay, at least for a good while after release. They did say the ability to pick classes independent of characters will be after the delayed release, so that's... the state we're in. At least we still have the first two games, even if this doesn't work out.
@Elbow Yikes. I haven't been following this game much but I'm assuming the fans ain't happy about what they've done, hence why they're (partially) returning to the old proverbial drawing board?
That’s a bummer! I was looking forward to it. I know the KF community on Reddit has been really ripping it for being a zombie survival hero shooter, but I thought it was an interesting new direction for the series.
@Kaloudz Yeah. Sorry for the delay in reply here, but a lot of feedback has been negative even going back to when they first showed the game off last year. Tripwire only hit the panic button now, but I guess it's better than not at all.
There are some rare positive reactions, but by and large it's been negative.
@Elbow Hey it's cool bud, no need to be sorry thanks for the reply. Man, it kinda feels like a PayDay moment. Devs not listening to feedback etc... Curious so see how much they change between now and launch and whether they will push forward any delays.
