Re: Yes, The Outer Worlds 2 Is Another Xbox-Developed Game Heading To PS5

@Fiendish-Beaver let's not forget about pricing. Think the newest PS5's revision price is goofy?

Just wait until they don't have any competition.

@ZYDIO I still have my 1520.

Had the 920 but man that was dookie. And sure enough, happened when Microsoft started meddling their team too much.

@Fiendish-Beaver
About the same for me. I only have Gamepass because I have a couple years stacked up because it was cheap as dirt. I see no reason to re-up once it expires though.

Fantastic game made only better by patches. And it is really nice they're listening to feedback and already providing requested QoL features to the game.

Definitely punching for my GOTY this year.

@PurvisP 30 hours myself and the only bug was someone getting stuck in a door pre patch. And a gun's physics glitching and launching it to the moon.

@StyleT are you using the sound meter and using things like storms etc for additional sound cover? For example, a silenced weapon will still alert people unless you have some decent background noise. And if you're using your light at all, the beacons are lit for all to see. Also some mutants hunt by smell, so the weird flower helps on these.

For example: I just went through and dropped half of Varaan's base before alerting anyone. And that was my own stupid mistake.

Looks like it is out now on my Series X.

Just downloaded it. 12.69GB.

@Lucylu1983 @Reallynow33
Looks like it is out now. I downloaded it a couple minutes ago.

@oopsiezz
I can't agree. 30 hours in and biggest bug I ran into was someone getting stuck in a door.

Player numbers also indicate the population is healthy, especially for a single player game. So the anecdote of seeing people saying they're uninstalling doesn't carry much weight. Especially when you see such comments about the biggest releases all the time.

Saw it dropped on PC. Nothing on my Xbox yet.

Edit: Just restarted my Xbox and got it.

@uberdaddypig If you're not familiar with game development. Sure. It is quite common for hundreds of fixes to be shadow dropped without even so much as a note. BG3 has thousands of bugs fixed in a single patch for example.

@Chaotic_Goat What seems to be the issues with stealth? When taking into account things like light, sound, and smell, as the game tells you on the loading screens, I've been clearing camps without so much a single alarm.

@dskatter Are you referring to the unrelated person from Arkane that said that?

@Bobobiwan

You say that, but this has pretty much been true since the mid 90s for PC. And for consoles the 00s.

In the 90s for example you could go out and buy the new Blizzard game you could either pick it up on launch. Or wait until the Battle Chest came out which I clouded the base game, all expansions, and even a strategy guide.

In the 00s even something like Halo 2 wasn't a complete package and you had to wait for DKC disc with all rhe maps if ya wanted to egt them at the same time.

Even Morrowind released without DLC, then had. GOTY version with all of it on the OG Xbox.

Then moving to the 360 era, pretty much any game that has any DLC almost always had a GOTY version including it all a year or two later

Re: EA & BioWare Aren't Making Any DLC For Xbox RPG Dragon Age: The Veilguard

@Vordus You don't need it to come out, no. But when you look at it from outside the vacuum of yes or no to cancel, it is more sensible to release.

With how far the game was in development, it would be less detrimental to release and get something out of it instead of the bad press of canceling a marquee title.

And is one of the reasons you see it happen over and over in today's industry.

Re: EA & BioWare Aren't Making Any DLC For Xbox RPG Dragon Age: The Veilguard

@Ryu_Niiyama And that is perfectly fine. There's nothing wrong with you not wanting DLC for a good game just like there's nothing wrong with me for wanting a good game to have DLC. I'd rather buy a game once and buy a dozen DLCs than to buy multiple releases.

That being said, f they don't release DLC it is because they do not feel the cost of producing it is worth what they'd make back.

At the end of the day that is the only thing that fuels such a decision for a game managed by a board.

@GamingFan4Lyf this does not mean to sound facetious so I apologize if so. What generation was this? Only time that really ever applied was pre internet games.

Once we got to early internet days, they definitely were expected.

The amount of begging for them on message boards when the likes of say Diablo or Warcraft dropped was wild.

I was personally part of a huge forum on requests for the rumored Warcraft 3 expansion that eventually turned into 2003's The Frozen Throne.

When Morrowind came out, despite no prior Elder Scrolls having DLC, expansions were one of the most pined for things.

Few things were more exciting when the latest RPG or RTS dropped with their "battle chest" that included all DLC and often a strategy guide. And sometimes other goodies.

@Ryu_Niiyama

Thanking fans is general PR. Most developers do. Even those of the ill-fated Concorde. So that's hardly a metric to go by

Witcher 3 told a complete story and still had DLC. The DLC was harolded as better than the base game itself. As was Phantom Liberty, but the bas egame had a washboard of issues, so we'll ignore that one lol. The original Dragon Age did as well. So unfortunately cannot agree on this point.

If a game does well, a developers supports it. They don't abandon it.

And I don't know about you, but if a game is good and I like it, I definitely want more. Not to be told, sorry no DLC. But at least they had the decency to let people down at the beginning unlike Spiderman.
