We're getting a huge wave of nostalgia looking at that image! 1 Vs. 100 truly was a memorable part of the Xbox 360 era, serving as a live gameshow where Xbox fans could compete and try to win prizes while answering quiz questions.
It was a really cool way to bring the Xbox community together, and Xbox boss Phil Spencer clearly agreed, even mentioning in a 2020 interview that he regretted "that we didn't keep it going". Unfortunately though, it's never returned.
That's seemingly not for a lack of trying. Spencer mentioned that he and his team were "on the case" a few years ago, and reports suggested that something was "definitely" being worked on... but nothing ultimately came to fruition.
It's now been almost five years since anything was really mentioned about this project, suggesting it was canned somewhere down the line. But could it return? Is there hope for a comeback at some point in this console generation?
What we do know is that Phil seemed keen to try and get away from the 1 Vs.100 branding (presumably due to licensing issues) which may have proved an issue, but we still have faith that he could figure out a suitable alternative.
Anyway, what are your thoughts on this? Would you be interested in a 1 Vs. 100 revival for Xbox, or has that ship sailed now? Is it time to leave that experience in the past and focus on new ideas? Let us know in the poll below!

"but what happened?!"
Microsoft's new direction happened.
It is pretty obvious when Microsoft got fed up with Spencer doing things like this and tightened the leash. Happened shortly before the backwards compatability program cancelation announcement.
The removal of the avatars is a sign it's not coming back.
It was a lot of fun while it lasted. I would be all over it if it returned.
It should be pretty easy to get something resembling 1v 100 even if they can't get the actual ip. They could expand it to include things closer to the 99 games on switch like tetris or f zero and not just a trivia competition.
A party game that has trivia competitions as well as something like a crash Bandicoot competition sounds fun.
@Th3_Highlander They specifically only removed the new Avatars that most people didn't know existed. The 360 ones still exist and can be used for games.
@shoeses I didn't know that, well at least that's a positive and there's still a little hope for a revival.
Now Nintendo does these great 1 vs 99 or 1 vs 30 games with Battle Royale style challenges across vibes franchises like Super Mario, Pacman, F-zero and more. Pure fun.
@Th3_Highlander the avatars were cool. I created a new one on XSX but it doesn't do anything
@Kilamanjaro Back in the 360 days they were well used in games, but then slowly died out during the XBox One days. I vaguely remember making another one for the XBox One for what it was worth.
@Th3_Highlander yeah 360 really pushed the boundaries of the Xbox brand to make it more appealing. I loved being able to play my own music at anytime and while I can do it now, it's not as seamless. Windows 8 with their stupid tile system to try to crossover with their mobile and tablet divisions was a big mistake in my opinion because it led to the terrible UI on Xbox today. Blades were simple, press the bumper to get to your form of entertainment, play music seamlessly and hop online quickly. It's kind of bloated now and I hate the ads on the main dash. My Games and Apps should be the absolute first and only thing you see on boot up so we can get straight into our library rather than seeing the latest releases & game pass ads. The two months I didnt have game pass I would get popups every time I turned on my Xbox, it was aggressive and annoying but now I'll just stick to Game pass core. Xbox really needs a reboot.

Covid lockdowns were the perfect time for this but I’ll take it anytime. Loved it back in the day.
I never played it but I'd be addicted to something like this loved the buzz gameshow game on the PS2 something like this would make money on cosmetics alone!!
I never made it out of the "masses" but I had so much fun. I'd love to keep it going.
Would be great if it came back.
For something so simple, I had the best time when playing that
This will only return if it's coming to switch 2 and playstation
Not really for me. Never heard of it and never used Avatars.

@McL92
If you look at gaming revenue by company for 2024 it would seem like Microsoft is perfectly fine with that...
