Man what a poo show. From what I’ve watched and read there’s a good game here somewhere, but much like this review points out the game is an absolute mess.
This isn’t a title that’ll sell Xbox’s let’s be honest, it was never going to, much like Hellblade 2.
@Wizzle08 Eurogamer are a joke, they review games based on their backwards ideology and not gameplay. Stopped taking them seriously a long time ago.
I do not care about the game awards, they mean nothing. You may get one or two new trailers and that’s as exciting as it gets.
If I had to choose from that list, Metaphor is my favourite game on it. Astrobot was great fun but I feel it played it a little too safe to be considered truly great.
@Banjo- Microsoft gaming is doing better than ever I would say, I’m not so sure about Xbox as hardware in the future. At this point I don’t believe anything uncle Phil says so I’d take any of his comments with a grain of salt. I’ve no doubt there’ll be more Xbox hardware, I’m not saying it’ll disappear overnight, obviously it won’t, but I do worry about its future in the long term. Once Microsoft realise developing/building/selling hardware isn’t financially viable for them (they sell the least hardware of the 3) I have no doubts they’d drop it. Only time will tell if it comes to that.
I’ve said before my friend the future of Microsoft gaming studios is very bright, the future of the Xbox as we know it now, not so much in my opinion 🙂
@Banjo- I complete agree, "the best videogame ever made" is waaay over used now, just another reason I can’t take the vast majority of reviews and reviewers seriously anymore.
You know buddy this whole things sad. It probably seems like I’ve been overly negative of Xbox for a while now but I like Xbox, I like the system, I prefer the controller, but I can’t get onboard with this strategy. I’ve said it before but it’s very simple for me, given the choice I’ll buy just one system i can play all/most games on instead of multiple. Microsoft are pushing me to that because they’re opening up their exclusives everywhere, that’s what’s kind of sad. I’ve always valued exclusives, they’re what make platforms unique, without them you have no identity.
Yeaaaah, I ain’t on board with this future sorry. My phone is not an Xbox nor do I want it to be.
At this point I’ll just play the tiny amount of Microsoft studios games that are actually good on other systems so in a strange way I guess my next Xbox will be made by Sony or Nintendo. (Which definitely aren’t Xbox’s, good job MS)
@jesse_dylan who said it was my main criteria? It’s one of them and it’s my prerogative to buy games or not buy games for my own reasons. Who are you to tell me to ‘do us a favour’? who is us? Everyone who thinks like you? 🤣 get lost.
Series will be my last Xbox console for multiple reasons. I should really thank uncle Phil because instead of buying 2 consoles going forward I’ll only need 1.
I have a question for the mods since my post was deleted again. Why don’t you just ban me at this point if you’re going to remove anything I say that you or another poster doesn’t like?
I did not attack or argue with anybody in this thread, I did not ‘discuss moderation’ until now. I like some of the community here but if you’re going to keep removing my posts I’d rather not be a part of it.
Great visually but so tedious and unenjoyable. I tried to like this game and gave it a fair shot but it just isn’t for me. I don’t really care for Kojima games at this point. Overrated.
@Vaako007 the most fun I had on series X was playing Xbox one games like Ryse, that I missed due to not having one. Ryse to me is more fun and memorable than any exclusive Xbox has put out this gen.
This generation has been complete dog poo. I can’t think of one Microsoft exclusive on a series console that I’ve loved. It’s not much better on the other side either. Image quality has also gotten worse, a real step backwards. Add on top most big triple A games have become dull, message driven, creatively bankrupt disappointments, it’s been a really bad generation.
I don’t regret buying either console but my word this gen has been disappointing for multiple reasons.
This is a trend we’ll continue to see. As I keep saying, Microsoft gaming will have duck tales levels of cash coming in, more than ever, while the Xbox brand slowly withers away. At best becoming a niche hardcore console or handheld variant brand.
@clvr I know what it is and I’m not sure how you figure I don’t from my comment? I’m smart enough to separate the theory of communism and how it works in reality. Nice try at trying to discredit me though.
It’s ***** but it’s also business and business is brutal. It is what it is.
@Sol4ris the same has historically happened under communism too, the money ALWAYS rises to the top. The problem isn’t the system, it’s people and greed.
@Banjo- I appreciate you trying to understand my friend but I really don’t care. You are right I’m tired but social media has also shown us what type of people a lot of these devs are and I really dislike them. Its easy to say I must be a horrible person or whatever, I don’t care what some random on the internet thinks about me, they know nothing
@Cakefish same here. 60fps mode uses frame gen and it’s meant to be a lag fest. Otherwise I’d have probably picked it up by now.
@Savage_Joe all good points my friend. They don’t ever mention the ‘journalists’ smear campaign against the devs also which you could argue led us to where we are now.
7/10 good. I enjoyed it but also really disliked things about it. Trekking back through areas, little variation and annoying enemies, and the combat to me is worse than the original. I wasn’t even sure that would be possible. Also Saga was bland and uninteresting to me, I don’t care or like her enough to be invested in.
Imo it’s far from the masterpiece reviewers and some people make it out to be. Good, not great by any means.
Man. This game was incredible. I only played it after buying the X and had such a fun time. I remember the bad rep this game had at launch and the lacklustre reviews, all completely unjustified in my opinion. I think the awful reveal of the Xbox one had a knock on effect on how this game was perceived.
Ryse is a classic to me, I miss these type of games.
From a business perspective I understand it, MS are already swimming in the money being generated by the deal.
As someone who has almost zero interest in any of the slop Activision/Blizz drop into their nappies, it’s only worsened the Xbox brand for multiple reasons, many listed above from other posters.
Say goodbye Xbox, hello Microsoft gaming. That’s where this is heading.
I played the demo and thought it was good but with bad writing and cringy heroes. There was enough there to make me interested though and I picked it up for a decent price here in the UK. I’m still surprised it’s scoring so well to be honest so I look forward to playing deeper in to see where it goes.
I’ve grown to really dislike these sort of devs. Social media has given them a voice and it’s become apparent they’re not likeable people for the most part and some even have distain for gamers and any criticism. Not saying that’s the case here but it is elsewhere.
IMO Starfield is just dull and uninteresting, which is amazing for a game set in space with endless possibilities.
I thought the writing was cringe and the story was following the usual predictable hero tropes when I played the demo. There are a couple of things I liked but I came away from that demo very mixed. I’m not sure I trust all these high scores.

Re: Xbox Boss Provides Multiple Reasons Why A 'PS5 Pro' Competitor Isn't Necessary
I think it’s smart for Microsoft to avoid a pro this gen, I also think they’re not in the position to release one and for it to be successful.
I certainly ain’t paying £800 for an upscaler from Sony either. I’ll let others guinea pig that technology until a PS6 comes along.

Great minds at work.
@BacklogBrad I saved JD because Kaits mate was incredibly boring.
Re: Xbox Hardware Revenues Down Again Despite Content & Services Growth
@OldGamer999 agree about their GPU issue and the stats show Xbox console gamers aren’t buying as many games in the ecosystem.
I can’t be bothered with the PS5 Pro, £800 for an upscaler. Nah 🤣
Re: Xbox Hardware Revenues Down Again Despite Content & Services Growth
Are there people still holding on to Xbox at this point? If so wake up, you care more about Xbox than Microsoft do.
Xbox as a brand is going to become more irrelevant while the cash pours in for Microsoft gaming.

Re: Pick One: Which Is Your Favourite BioWare Game On Xbox?
Mass Effect 2 is unbelievably good so that got my vote. Dragon Age: Origins was also great.
The BioWare that made those games is gone, good memories at least.
Re: Mass Effect Lead Says Next Game Will Retain The 'Mature Tone' Of EA's Original Trilogy
Yeah…. Whatever. At this point Bioware are dead to me I won’t be buying their games again.
Re: Bungie Provides Dev Update On Marathon, Encourages Xbox Fans To 'Wish List'
Wishlist? Haha no. Not with your track record.
Re: Talking Point: Xbox Released One Of Its Best-Ever Exclusives 10 Years Ago Today
I’ve never played it. Probably never will, it looked cringe in every way. There may be a good game there but the aesthetic always put me off.

Re: BioWare Drops One Final Look At Dragon Age: The Veilguard Before Its Xbox Launch
This could score 10/10 across the board and I wouldn’t touch it. Hard pass for me.
Re: Microsoft CEO Gaming Division Update: 'We Continue To Extend Our Content To New Platforms'
When will people realise uncle Phil is fully on board with this. I know some are still in denial 😜
It’s simple for me, if I can buy 1 home console to play all or most games instead of 2, I will. The way Xbox is heading, it ain’t that 1 console.

@Kezelpaso you’re insane! Control is 10/10.
Re: Ubisoft's Prince Of Persia: The Lost Crown Team Reportedly 'Disbanded'
@Scrubchub at least I’m honest. Have a good day sir.
Re: Ubisoft's Prince Of Persia: The Lost Crown Team Reportedly 'Disbanded'
Characters looked annoying so I didn’t play this. I’m quite enjoying the downfall of Ubi, hopefully more of the big triple A devs will follow.
@Banjo- you’re correct. Immortals was the best game they put out in years.
Re: Bloober Team Says It's Done Making 'Sh**ty Games' As It Prepares For Cronos: The New Dawn

Re: Surprise! Black Myth: Wukong Has Been Rated For Xbox
@Sifi very good point.
Re: Surprise! Black Myth: Wukong Has Been Rated For Xbox
@UndyingInsurgent95 lol.
I’ve avoided the game because it looks like a performance mess on PS5, that’s the only reason.
@Titntin You playing on PS5? Has performance improved?

Re: Alan Wake 2's Lake House Expansion Floats Onto Xbox Series X|S Next Week
Alan Wake 2 was a bit of a let down, for multiple reasons, I didn’t like it as much as the original.
I did however get the season pass on the cheap, so I’ll be jumping into this. Also shout out to the Rose DLC episode, that was some great *****.

Re: Review: Metaphor: ReFantazio - Atlus Proves It's Still The King of JRPG-Land
@StylesT FF16 is awful though and isn’t a JRPG in any sense. It’s a boring action game with the most brain dead combat imaginable.
Not saying you should give Metaphor a try but don’t judge these games going by your experience with FF16 because that game is dogsh*t.
Re: Review: Metaphor: ReFantazio - Atlus Proves It's Still The King of JRPG-Land
