Re: 'People Can Fly' Becomes Official Co-Developer For Gears Of War: E-Day

Fenbops

@AverageGamer I’m not sure I agree. Even if that was the case, Gears 5 was released in 2019 and all we’ve had since was Hivebusters and an E-day trailer last year, which we now know they aren’t working on alone. I know they’ve helped on other projects like Halo Infinite but still, there are questions as to what they’ve been working on in the 5 or so years since Gears 5.

I hope Gears 1-3 on unreal engine 5 but who knows they’ve shown nothing.

Re: Phil Spencer Shares His Aspirations For Xbox Before He Reaches Retirement

@Isolte I feel this is a common misconception. He has not taken a step back imo. I think he’s been onboard with this all along. His biggest success is tricking gamers into thinking he is one of them while being a corporate stooge. If he really didn’t like the direction they are heading, he’d have stepped down, it’s way past the time for him to believe he could have any influence to change things and he’s still there.

Trust me, he’s fully onboard with MS top brass.

Re: Talking Point: What Is Xbox Going To Do With Halo In 2025?

@Banjo- I’ve always said Infinite’s gameplay was fun. I think they nailed how a Halo game should feel with Infinite. My problem with it was the dull, lifeless open world and lack of any real variety. The indoor more linear missions all felt copy and pasted from one to the next. For the time spent in development I thought it was shameful what we got from 343.

I think it’s the most fun modern Halo game, but the franchise deserves better.

@ironcrow86 I understood. It’s just that I saw Infinite as a kind of soft reboot and that’s exactly what they did, went back to basics. Sure it was open world which was a first for Halo but at its core it was your basic, fun Halo gameplay with what I thought was a less convoluted story without multiple pointless side characters we’ve seen in the more recent Halo games. That could just be me but I thought Infinite went back to basics to some extent 😂

Re: Xbox Series X|S Console Sales Down Almost 30% In The US Compared To 2023

@NEStalgia I would correct you and say Microsoft Studios are doing very well. I’ve said for a while now that Microsoft are going to rake in more money than ever through gaming and releasing everywhere, while the Xbox brand itself fades away or becomes a sad umbrella term for anything that can stream games.

I think it’s sad as a fan of Xbox since the original console.

Re: YouTuber Breaks Down Xbox's 'Almost Perfect' New Ad Campaign

Fenbops

If it’s ALMOST perfect there will be numbers to back it up. How many people are jumping on board? Are Gamepass subs rising? Are people being fooled into thinking an iPhone is an Xbox?

I have no doubts it’s good for business, that doesn’t necessarily mean it’s good for the Xbox brand, a smart tv or a phone definitely are not Xbox’s.

Re: Xbox Fans Plead With Microsoft: 'Don't Forget About Us Physical Gamers'

Fenbops

@Ryu_Niiyama the issue is the consoles are more of a closed off eco system than PC’s will ever be. If physical goes away on console you’re then limited to each companies store front and pricing with nothing you can do about it. PC has multiple store fronts, although steam dominates, and the threat of piracy is stronger. There are alternatives.

Re: Review: Stalker 2 (Xbox) - GSC Game World's Long-Awaited Sequel Is A Mess

Fenbops

Man what a poo show. From what I’ve watched and read there’s a good game here somewhere, but much like this review points out the game is an absolute mess.

This isn’t a title that’ll sell Xbox’s let’s be honest, it was never going to, much like Hellblade 2.

@Wizzle08 Eurogamer are a joke, they review games based on their backwards ideology and not gameplay. Stopped taking them seriously a long time ago.
