Terrible name if true. Makes it sound like a subscription service rather than a console, which would make sense considering how Microsoft are moving forward with the Xbox brand.
@NEStalgia I would correct you and say Microsoft Studios are doing very well. I’ve said for a while now that Microsoft are going to rake in more money than ever through gaming and releasing everywhere, while the Xbox brand itself fades away or becomes a sad umbrella term for anything that can stream games.
I think it’s sad as a fan of Xbox since the original console.
If it’s ALMOST perfect there will be numbers to back it up. How many people are jumping on board? Are Gamepass subs rising? Are people being fooled into thinking an iPhone is an Xbox?
I have no doubts it’s good for business, that doesn’t necessarily mean it’s good for the Xbox brand, a smart tv or a phone definitely are not Xbox’s.
This Nutella guy, every time he seems to pop up he’s an annoyance. My opinion of Xbox and where they are going is low, this fella makes it worse with his jargon.
No need to have an Xbox going forward then. Series will probably be my last. Like I always say for me the choice is easy, I’ll buy one console I can play almost anything on ahead of one with no exclusives.
No interest in this game on PlayStation so no interest in it on Xbox either. Aloy is as likeable as a wet sock, even in Lego form I don’t wanna play as her.
@Ryu_Niiyama the issue is the consoles are more of a closed off eco system than PC’s will ever be. If physical goes away on console you’re then limited to each companies store front and pricing with nothing you can do about it. PC has multiple store fronts, although steam dominates, and the threat of piracy is stronger. There are alternatives.
@darylb24 ‘ The plastic disc in 2024 is about as much use as a bit of paper with a code on it’
True in some cases but if I can pay 38 instead of 60 for that disc I will. I do not give a fart about its eco impact and I hope those that claim to don’t drive their cars around or fly anywhere.
Physical should always be an option even if it’s a niche. In no future do I want Sony/MS/Nintendo 100% controlling what I have to buy on their systems.
I got Space Marine 2 on disc for £38 today, it’s still £60 digital, who in their right mind wants to take away that alternative. Options for us consumers are good.
Man what a poo show. From what I’ve watched and read there’s a good game here somewhere, but much like this review points out the game is an absolute mess.
This isn’t a title that’ll sell Xbox’s let’s be honest, it was never going to, much like Hellblade 2.
@Wizzle08 Eurogamer are a joke, they review games based on their backwards ideology and not gameplay. Stopped taking them seriously a long time ago.
I do not care about the game awards, they mean nothing. You may get one or two new trailers and that’s as exciting as it gets.
If I had to choose from that list, Metaphor is my favourite game on it. Astrobot was great fun but I feel it played it a little too safe to be considered truly great.
@Banjo- Microsoft gaming is doing better than ever I would say, I’m not so sure about Xbox as hardware in the future. At this point I don’t believe anything uncle Phil says so I’d take any of his comments with a grain of salt. I’ve no doubt there’ll be more Xbox hardware, I’m not saying it’ll disappear overnight, obviously it won’t, but I do worry about its future in the long term. Once Microsoft realise developing/building/selling hardware isn’t financially viable for them (they sell the least hardware of the 3) I have no doubts they’d drop it. Only time will tell if it comes to that.
I’ve said before my friend the future of Microsoft gaming studios is very bright, the future of the Xbox as we know it now, not so much in my opinion 🙂
@Banjo- I complete agree, "the best videogame ever made" is waaay over used now, just another reason I can’t take the vast majority of reviews and reviewers seriously anymore.
You know buddy this whole things sad. It probably seems like I’ve been overly negative of Xbox for a while now but I like Xbox, I like the system, I prefer the controller, but I can’t get onboard with this strategy. I’ve said it before but it’s very simple for me, given the choice I’ll buy just one system i can play all/most games on instead of multiple. Microsoft are pushing me to that because they’re opening up their exclusives everywhere, that’s what’s kind of sad. I’ve always valued exclusives, they’re what make platforms unique, without them you have no identity.
Yeaaaah, I ain’t on board with this future sorry. My phone is not an Xbox nor do I want it to be.
At this point I’ll just play the tiny amount of Microsoft studios games that are actually good on other systems so in a strange way I guess my next Xbox will be made by Sony or Nintendo. (Which definitely aren’t Xbox’s, good job MS)
@jesse_dylan who said it was my main criteria? It’s one of them and it’s my prerogative to buy games or not buy games for my own reasons. Who are you to tell me to ‘do us a favour’? who is us? Everyone who thinks like you? 🤣 get lost.
Series will be my last Xbox console for multiple reasons. I should really thank uncle Phil because instead of buying 2 consoles going forward I’ll only need 1.
I have a question for the mods since my post was deleted again. Why don’t you just ban me at this point if you’re going to remove anything I say that you or another poster doesn’t like?
I did not attack or argue with anybody in this thread, I did not ‘discuss moderation’ until now. I like some of the community here but if you’re going to keep removing my posts I’d rather not be a part of it.
Great visually but so tedious and unenjoyable. I tried to like this game and gave it a fair shot but it just isn’t for me. I don’t really care for Kojima games at this point. Overrated.
@Vaako007 the most fun I had on series X was playing Xbox one games like Ryse, that I missed due to not having one. Ryse to me is more fun and memorable than any exclusive Xbox has put out this gen.
This generation has been complete dog poo. I can’t think of one Microsoft exclusive on a series console that I’ve loved. It’s not much better on the other side either. Image quality has also gotten worse, a real step backwards. Add on top most big triple A games have become dull, message driven, creatively bankrupt disappointments, it’s been a really bad generation.
I don’t regret buying either console but my word this gen has been disappointing for multiple reasons.
This is a trend we’ll continue to see. As I keep saying, Microsoft gaming will have duck tales levels of cash coming in, more than ever, while the Xbox brand slowly withers away. At best becoming a niche hardcore console or handheld variant brand.

Re: Xbox Series X|S Sales Estimates Show Consoles Lagging Far Behind Last-Gen
Everything is an Xbox though so in real terms they’ve got billions of potential Xbox’s out there. 🤣 or something.
Re: Rumour: Microsoft's Next-Gen Console Dubbed 'Xbox Prime' Is Possibly Coming In 2026

Re: Xbox's First Major Sale Of 2025 Begins, 300+ Games Reduced In All
@Fiendish-Beaver it’s meant to be awful. Avoid mate.
I picked up Robocop and have been having a blast with it. Reminds me of games like Riddick and The Darkness.
Re: Kojima's Xbox Game 'OD' Suffered Strike-Related Setbacks In 2024
That’s all this game appears to be, face scans, how can anybody be excited for this pretentious rubbish yet.
Re: Black Myth: Wukong's Xbox Saga Just Got A Whole Lot More Confusing
Oh so it seems as I called it at the beginning. The Series S has held back another game coming to Xbox.
The series S isn’t the actual problem, Microsoft’s policy of needing to release on both consoles simultaneously is.
Re: Talking Point: What Are Your New Year's Gaming Resolutions?
Avoid even more triple A slop.

Re: Bethesda Games Would Be 'Better' On UE5, Claims Former Skyrim Artist
The creation engine is the least of Starfield and Bethesda’s problems and stutter engine 5 would have probably made the game even worse.

Re: Xbox Series X|S Console Sales Down Almost 30% In The US Compared To 2023
When everything is an Xbox, what’s the point of an actual Xbox?
Pure stupidity, brand suicide. This is going to continue.

Good game, but not great. Can’t argue with the awards it walked away with.
Re: Talking Point: What Are Your Overall Thoughts On Xbox Game Pass In 2024?
Poor. I subbed for 1 month to play Hellblade 2 and that was it. Nothing else has interested me. Doesn’t look much better next year.
Re: Review: Indiana Jones And The Great Circle (Xbox) - A MachineGames Misfire
@HappyGamerGirl @johndoe89 well said both of you. They’re a joke, not to be taken seriously.
I read this review. Reviewer seems to have legitimate criticisms of the game and some of its mechanics. Everything said seems fair to me.

Interesting review.
People using Eurogamer as some sort of bastion of reliable quality 🤣🤣 so funny.
Re: 34% Of Xbox Owners Still Don't Use The 'Energy Saving' Option In 2024
I don’t. Football stadiums can have their lights on 7 days a week, I’ll use what power I like regardless of it’s ‘environmental’ impact.

Re: Xbox Boss Provides Multiple Reasons Why A 'PS5 Pro' Competitor Isn't Necessary
I think it’s smart for Microsoft to avoid a pro this gen, I also think they’re not in the position to release one and for it to be successful.
I certainly ain’t paying £800 for an upscaler from Sony either. I’ll let others guinea pig that technology until a PS6 comes along.

I can’t be bothered with the PS5 Pro, £800 for an upscaler. Nah 🤣
Re: Xbox Hardware Revenues Down Again Despite Content & Services Growth
Are there people still holding on to Xbox at this point? If so wake up, you care more about Xbox than Microsoft do.
Xbox as a brand is going to become more irrelevant while the cash pours in for Microsoft gaming.
