@NintendoByNature agreed, I just believe I can finish Xenoblade soonish so not sure I will focus on it this week instead (I am starting the second to last story mission)
@Balta666 ill be honest, there are so many side missions in that game and i feel they're almost mandatory or you'll be underleveled. So I've been doing a bunch and I'm hoping to start chapter 5 tonight. 18hrs in, and I feel like I'm way behind.
@NintendoByNature I am also doing as much as I can but tbf side missions don't give much exp. Fighting strong enemies and unlocking areas is your best choice (60h at level 49)
@Balta666 yea exactly. JaxonH over on NL showed me a nice trick in the blade barracks. Go to the online mission center and select support missions or something along those lines. And there is a mission 2 down that gives you 700 exp and it's just a quick boss fight you can knock out in 1 minute. I've been doing it to level up.
Today is the day, gang! South of Midnight will be available through Game Pass Ultimate. Hope you all enjoy and looking forward to following the conversation. @FraserG has kindly put together a release guide which you can find linked below 👍
Agreed. I'm loving most of it so far. The combat can be a bit chaotic though. 5 chapters down and I just turned off the xbox. I'll jump back in, in a couple days.
@ZeD I'm happy to hear it's not super long as odd as that sounds. I've been playing too many 30hr games lately and it burns me out. I'm probably close to halfway done but I'll dive back in tn.
@NintendoByNature it only took me about 10hrs to complete & it was nice to take a break from AC Shadows as that was getting to the 30hr points and I was feeling the "can I keep doing the same thing for another 15hrs" stage. I am still not sure if I will go back to Shadows soon as I saw a screen shot of all the missions you can do and it is double what I have on my screen! 🫨
Blue Prince is out in 15 mins, so I might play that next on my PS5 lol
@ZeD i get it man. Burn out is happening more and more for me lately with these big open world games. Blue prince is probably the next game I'm trying out, pending that it's a short and sweet game. Anything 20hrs or more I might be out.
@NintendoByNature The problem is always the game play loop. No matter how big or small the game is, the gameplay loop is always going to be the same. But in a bigger game, that becomes more noticeable where as in a shorter game (South of Midnight for example), the length is perfect for that to happen. South of Midnight really reminded me of the lovely smaller games you use to get during the PS3/Xbox 360 era. Weekend games.
AC Shadows is a very good game but ultimately the loop is find the person of interest in the area, go kill them.
@NintendoByNature from what I have seen reviewers say blue prince is quite long (it depends on the capability with puzzles but as it is also kind of roguelike I believe it is the 30/40h mark to see credits with more after)
@Balta666 yeesh, no thank you then unfortunately. Way too little time, and too much to play at the moment. At that time, I'd rather play expedition 33. Another game i really want to play, but I know it'll be a time sink.
@NintendoByNature@Balta666 IGN said 15 hours to finish. Six One Indie (nope I've never heard of them either) said 15 hours to 25 hours depending how you deal with puzzles and how much you do.
Expedition 33 is looking to be a shorter RPG... but that's still 30+ hours. Still better than the often 50-100+ many fall into
