Earlier this year, Xbox's Avowed got delayed to February 2025 - a launch window that now looks busy with the likes of Assassin's Creed Shadows, Kingdom Come: Deliverance 2 and Monster Hunter Wilds all launching in the same month. However, dev team Obsidian Entertainment isn't worried about the industry's packed schedule.
In a new interview with GamesRadar, Obsidian's Carrie Patel seems rather chill about the whole situation. In fact, Patel says that they're "personally" looking forward to all of those games coming out - and they believe that Obsidian fans "are going to find exactly what they're looking for with Avowed" in February 2025.
"I don't think you're ever going to find a window where absolutely nothing is coming out and you're going to be the only one out for a month. But we're very confident that Avowed is going to stand on its own.
I'm very excited about a lot of those games coming out personally, and I think that we're also a very distinct experience from them."
To add some extra positivity onto the Avowed delay news, Patel also says that the game's Feb. 2025 launch "has just given us more time as a team to fix bugs and do those final tuning passes" - which sounds like great news to us as the game gets polished up for release.
Avowed comes to Xbox Game Pass — in and amongst that busy period for the industry — on February 18th, 2025.
