Earlier this year, we heard a strong rumour that Forza Horizon 5 would be another Xbox game to move over to PS5 at some stage - and now that very same source has provided an update on the situation as we near the end of 2024.
According to prominent leaker eXtas1s, Microsoft's Forza Horizon 5's PS5 port is ready to go, but it was "delayed (not cancelled) this past summer". The insider says that "it will arrive", but they don't know exactly when at the time of posting.
Via Google Translate:
"Forza Horizon 5 has already been ported to PS5, but its release was delayed (not cancelled) this past summer. However, they consider it a game that can do quite well, and it will arrive, I don't know when, but it will arrive."
Interestingly, the source also adds that Microsoft "considers it a game that can do quite well", and given the sheer popularity of the Forza Horizon series on Xbox and PC, we're inclined to agree. There is competition over there with the likes of The Crew Motorfest these days, but we still reckon FH5 could be a huge hit on PS5.
Anyway, for now that's still very much a could be, considering Microsoft hasn't officially announced this port at all just yet. Having said that, just a few weeks ago, Xbox boss Phil Spencer said "I do not see sort of red lines in our portfolio" - effectively stating that any Xbox franchise could move over to PS5 at some point.
