I'm still playing Outer Worlds 2 and I'll also start Lost Records. Followed by a few FM races and the Infinite mp.
Been planning to set up my PS5 too which has been its box since we moved home almost two years, and play Astrobot with the kids.
Happy gaming everyone.
Definitely interested in Fort Solis. But man, I don't understand some of these smaller developers releasing games on a platform 2 years later, and then complaining of poor sales (I can forsee this floping on the Series consoles). If you make a conscious decision, then don't complain about it later, when people virtually forgot about your game..
Jeez, I wonder why that is π ? Activision/Microsoft had this kick in the b@lls coming a long time coming, and good thing it finally landed. It shuld bring their inflated egos over the franchise in perspective.
Sony is directly advertising Halo: Campaign Evolved as one of its "must-play games coming soon to PS5"
And why wouldn't they? The more successful the game is on playstation, the larger the amount of money will be from selling it on their store..I wonder if Halo studios will enable cross-platform co-op, it would be nice.
I wish them good luck.
But, after what they (under)achieved at Microsoft with The Initiative, to me at least this looks like falling upwards. Iβm hoping to be wrong and theyβll actually release a game, rather than a vertical slice of something after more than half a decade investment..
Since you are so eager to downplay everything Xbox related, how is Sony treating the hyper playstation fans like yourself with their PS3 BC programme??...oh wait π π
Backwards Compatibility Still Adds So Much Value To Xbox Series X|S In 2025
Indeed it adds fantastic value to Xbox X|S consoles, even if it's far off full BC.
And compared to Sony's non existing PS3 efforts, Microsoft are light years ahead with their BC and 4k/60fps boost programme.
Still playing Outer Worlds 2.
Loving the environmental story telling, and how it encourages out the box thinking (in a similar vein to immersive sims) when doing quests.
I'm taking my time exploring everything and doing all the side quests, and just reached Cloister and Praetor.
Planning on playing a few races in FM and some Halo Infinite firefight.
Happy gaming to all.
Microsoft already has an incredible line up for next year, and they should give InXile as much time as they need to bring their vision to full fruition. A 2027 release will be great.
Obsidian are a great studio, with an exceptional release cadence of great games. Hopefully this news will make them even better. What I secretly wish for is for them to make a sequel for Alpha Protocolπ, on a more respectable budget.
This year has been absolutely epic for Game Pass and next year looks to be even better. The breadth of games and genres is amazing, and as some other poster mentioned Games Pass is light years ahead of similar services.
So what you are saying is, that when journalists are asking questions, Microsoft should just refuse to engage them. I get it now why people are so outraged (you included?), with Microsoft π π ...
I doubt it. Honestly, itβd be better if they just stopped talking altogether
If only you could convey your message to those pesky journalists constantly pestering Microsoft GM's/Executives with GamePass or Xbox related questions, so they can stop talking....Or better yet, ask the other platform holders about their subscription services and how is the enthusiasm of the odd day one release developers there?..
Is it worth the money now that prices have gone up?
Thats highly subjective, isn't it? For my money it's the best subscription service by a country mile. And, I'm very happy it works out for developers too, the more, the merrier.
I think in the end, GamePass will always be ostracised, scrutinised to within an inch of it's existence until such time that Sony (and possibly Nintendo?) will do it too. Then it will become the best thing since the invention of the light bulb π π .
I hope youβre right and Sony wonβt (see) the need for a PS6 push adoption. As someone who will go with the PC hybrids option, it would suit me just fine.
Very glad to see this list going (somewhat) against the Game Awards nominations, giving some much deserved attention to other games too. Itβs also refreshing to see different opinions and perspectives from gamecovering outlets.
Most excellent. Ill be getting the upgrade, looks like having this digitally is an advantage here (although I'm not even sure if Xbox even has the games on physical).
Yeah they are not putting prices up, but you believe them totally and the so called clever reasons for not doing so?
Iβm sorry, but are you saying that you donβt religiously believe in PushSquare or in Sonyβs wisdom??β¦ I find your lack of faith disturbing πππ
Microsoft owns a significant stake in OpenAI, which was recently solidified at approximately 27% following an agreement in October 2025. This stake is valued at roughly $135 billion and grants Microsoft access to OpenAI's technology until 2032
I think we need to draw our own conclusions when comparing priorities between the AI push and Xbox within Microsoft.
PlayStation and Nintendo are extremely important revenue makers for their parent corporations when compared to Xbox directly...
Sure, lest we forget the takes from all other corporate executives:
-"Hulst and Sony leadership considered Concord a potentially massive, "Star Wars-like" property, envisioning it as a billion-dollar franchise"
-"We belive in generations", said Jim Ryan. Than subsequently, Sony later released several PS5 games on the PS4, including Ragnarok, HFW, pretty much contradicting that statement, etc.
All companies shift and pivot on a regular basis....was that your point?
Personally i'm holding off because there is no concrete evidence that Xbox will be in a state that works for me
And that is perfectly fine. Not everything works for everyone, Iβm in the same boat on whatever Iβll buy the next console from Sony, in light of the noises Microsoft are making about having multiple storefronts on their next machine.
Iβm trying to leave the walled garden ecosystems behind and Iβm hoping the next Xbox will allow me to do just that.
Hardware is absolutely core to everything we do at Xbox
I really, really want to believe Sarah and Microsoft. But why do that(?), when the Internet is choke full of deranged takes about how Microsoft are leaving the hardware business, blah, blah, etc, ad infinitumπ€¦ββοΈπ .
I came to the comments thread for the cynicism, overly negative comments and downright depressive Xbox takes. So far Iβm not disappointed π.
I sincerely hope Microsoft will fully oblige themβ¦. so the same people can endlessly complain.
To be honest, you could argue that it was a similar case with GT7 at launch
This was always my opinion too. When GT7 launched it was nothing to shout about compared to the game it later became with continuous support. I guess the difference between the two games is one is made by Sony , the other by Microsoft. I still play FM regularly, and think it's a great racer.
I'm waiting for Microsoft to reveal details on the next-gen Xbox, before I even consider one of these. Nonetheless, whatever I'll be purchasing / going with, it won't be the traditional walled garden console model. I do like the form factor of this though.
...but obviously not the Xbox Series consoles. Jeez mate, how do you come up with these takes? You sound as ridiculous as the people on Pushsquare who blame GTAVI's delay on the Series Sπ€¦ββοΈπ .
I went with a 9. The closest thing I can loosely compared it to would be Jurney, which was one of my favourite games of the PS3 generation.Loved the environmental storytelling in both games.
I'm'm currently level 9 in Outer Worlds 2 on a Very Hard run, and very much enjoying the game
Just a quick question on the dificulty setting. If you choose the very hard option after the character creation and start the game, it seems to revert to normal when you check the game setting menu. Looks to be a bug(?) or something, so it worth checking before going to the intro space station that is still the very hard setting to avoid disappointmentπ. It happened to me with the hard setting.
I wonder if they'll do something similar to what Sony done with the TLOU ps5 remasters with neither game having mp (I know the second game never shiped with one) and charging around Β£50 or the ps4 upgrade path for existing owners.
The store is down (here in UK) but my daughter is playing Pacific Drive and it's working fine. Hopefully it'll get resolved soon. A few days ago in was AWS which had issues. All of this technology and it's interdependence on a number factors is bound to have problems from time to time.
If this fails too, will it be more goalpost moving and mitigation in the comments, or will that finally be enough for the apologists to start pointing fingers and laying blame
Yes because pointing fingers and laying blame, will magically bring back the X360 heydays or whatever else you want to entertain...
