Pardon the ignorance on my part, but do you genuinely see or find the reactions of the last few days to be all and wholly rational?. Just curious..

In fact, the level of upset has been so severe that it's even led to some Xbox owners selling their consoles and influencers denouncing their support for the brand

Is that level of emotional attachment to an electronic/electrical item or goods even healthy, without any official information on how this will be implemented?? The reactions are becoming borderline ridiculous...
Although I must admit, its been an eye opener, and so far its only Tuesday, going to be a looong week.

and we'd just suggest avoiding any knee-jerk reactions - let's wait and see what Team Xbox has to say!

Come on PX, just admit it. This news is doing business for you in ways that makes the ABK acquisition comments /traffic pale in comparison😄😉.

I've still yet to upgrade to a Series X but right now i think i will just stick with my SS as it seems my reason for wanting to upgrade will covered by my PS5 if the games are being ported over

Its quite humours to see how from the likes of Hi-Fi Rush, this is now ballooned into virtually all major titles Microsoft now owns. Just waiting for Satya and Spencer to join Nintendo and Sony respectively..

I play a couple of races every evening, so yes I still play FM on Gamepass.

You might be right but there is a fundamental difference between the two.
Sega was not in the same financial position Microsoft is in now.
They didn't really had a choice, Microsoft with Xbox has, add the advantages /benefits of being a platform holder and I have doubts about Xbox going the way of Dreamcast any time soon.

I just bought another 12 months of GPU for £83.96, that has me covered until late 2026. Makes me look mad doesn't it 😁? What with all the cheering for the death of Xbox and bitterness being shared around 😅.

I absolutely understand and respect anyone who has this position. But, from my perspective this has/will have zero bearing on my choice of gaming platform, and if it isn't clear and avoid confusion - I'm all in on the Xbox ecosystem.😁

Edited: More people enjoying XGS games on other platforms, hopefully means more money invested in GPU, and ofcourse games for everyone 😉.

Having it as part of GPU its important to me, adds extra value to the service. An as the article mentions there were/are some great games on the service over the years.

Great post mate. The points you made about Xbox are precisely the reason why I'm not worried, or give the time of day to this sort of news even if they come to pass. Hence why sometimes I make jesting posts about XGS games on rival platforms and the predictable drama that ensues.😁
Xbox will always be my primary console for as long as Microsoft makes them.

Dammit Microsoft!!!

I was planning to undertake a boasting spree on gaming sites about how proud I am, and how giddy and warm I feel inside when people that don't own an Xbox or gaming PC, can't play the games I do.
Just want to Lord it over others how great my console of choice is, how many exclusives it has, and releasing game on rival platforms its a horrible idea..
This is outrageous, I'm taking a sledgehammer to my Series X. Enough is enough 😅😉😅

They have developed so many great games, that it would be unfair and difficult to choose just one.

I'm not even sure if it's about greed. My point was that Sony actually has a revised console that's all digital, with the option to buy an add-on for physical media, if one choses. Also we don't know if Microsoft will, or won't offer a similar approach.

across Europe several retailers have started just not listing Xbox games anymore. So, they've just stopped stocking Xbox games

I would be more concerned if they wouldn't stock Xbox consoles anymore😜.
On more serious note, this is not really surprising anymore, my gaming library shows that I own 577 digital games spanning four Xbox generations. We now have GamePass, and the writing starts to show on the wall.

2024 started terribly for the gaming theindustry, people loosing their jobs left,right an center is both sad,and unfortunate 😞. Wish all affected they'll land on their feet....

Whilst I agree with your point, Microsoft are really not in a position were they can develop on one console. The PC market is far more important now (for them) than during the XB360 generation, and I can not see them adopting an approach similar to Sony, i.e. console first PC a few years later.

It gets a B from me, but that's only because I was secretly hoping for South of Midnight to make shadow appearance😁. Apart from that it was great.
And Hellblade looks absolutely incredible.

Rocksteady's focus is obviously now on the upcoming release of Suicide Squad: Kill The Justice League

Reading some of the previews for the game, it's quite clear that Suicide Squad will need more than just focus from Rocksteady'. I can't believe they went from the Arkam Trilogy to this..

We yet to see any gameplay for this game, but it already needs to be AAA on all aspects, offer something unique to differentiate itself from Tomb Raider, Uncharted and be a tent pole game...... I can absolutely see the game being judged objectively and by its own merits.
