Welcome to the weekend! We've got a few new Xbox Game Pass titles for you to check out over the next couple of days, along with a bunch of Free Play Days additions and a whole heap of discounts that are live on the Xbox Store.

I haven't really played much Xbox over the past couple of weeks for various reasons (I was on holiday for one of them), so there's a lot for me to catch up on. I still haven't really tried much Black Ops 6 yet, so that's definitely on the cards, and I'm really eager to check out Metal Slug Tactics - especially now it's on Xbox Game Pass!
I'm also hoping to play some Phasmophobia - the intent was to review that one, but we got swamped with the likes of Dragon Age: The Veilguard and Sonic X Shadow Generations in late October. Maybe a late review is in order?

I won’t lie—this weekend is most likely going to be spent tucked up in the comfiest corner of my sofa, Switch OLED in hand, to play Mario & Luigi: Brothership. I’ve been waiting a long time for this one! But I also want to find some time to dip back into Fallout 76 on the Xbox. It’s a pretty fun game nowadays, with all its updates and such, so I’m keen to see what’s new.
Oh, and I’ll probably find some time to run packages to Geoff Keighley in Death Stranding. I played it recently on the Xbox Series S, and honestly, it looks really good—I was properly surprised.
So, that’s about it for my gaming plans. What are yours?

PS5: I have been playing Dragon Age Veilguard daily since release. I have already clocked in 40+ hours and have enjoyed every second of it.
Xbox: Resubscribed to Gamepass to play Cod 6. Finished the campaign which was a blast. I might play MW2 and 3 now even though I have heard their campaigns are weaker.
Switch: I have made a new habit lately of sidequesting in TotK when the TV is busy. Such a brilliant game!

More Veilguard on Series X, still very much enjoying it. I’d guess I’m about halfway through. I don’t think I’m likely to play anything else until I finish it.
I finally decided to pull the trigger on Dragon Age: The Veilguard.
After 17 hours I have to say I am having a fantastic time so far. I am enjoying the story, exploring and even the combat.
Playing as a rogue & trying all the things. I love that you can respec your skills anytime to try all the options.
Sometimes you need to ignore what others think & try it out for yourself for good or bad.
This time it's worked out superbly & I am very much looking forward to continuing my adventure as a rogue (and later a mage & warrior in future playthroughs.)
Definitely want to try out COD BO6 Zombie mode with some friends.
Banishers: Ghosts of New Eden if I get the chance to play the surprisingly solid journey of Red Mac Raith and Antea Duarte on a haunted island in New England. I’ve got to play that new Astro Bot level too! My wife may want to try out Black Ops 6, so there’s that as well. It’s better than expected to me.
It sort of feels like GotY season though. I’m contemplating getting DQ3 and of course Xbox is releasing their whole slate super late in the year all on top of each other, ensuring few will be able to savor all those last minute games, but I’m in the mood to compile lists and celebrate the year in my own way.
Pax Dei for the most part, and some Enshrouded via Geforce Now on my Xbox. I also might try Death Stranding, what a great surprise that was!

Im about 70% through Avatar and would like to finish that this weekend.
I started Dragon Age Veilguard on ps5 pro and have to say it looks great and Im enjoying the gameplay loads. The opening story piece (leading up to the titles) was a bit 'off' tbh, but its improved a lot since then, and the acting seems fine and characters are likable so far.

I finally beat SMTV: Vengeance(fantastic game, improves on the original in just about every way) on PS5 earlier this week after around 114 hours and am now looking towards what's next on the list.
Right now I think I'll stick to Paper Mario: The Thousand-Year Door on Switch but I am dabbling in other games too until I find what I will be playing for the next few weeks.
Glad you guys are bigging up Veilguard. I’m still put off by the more childish/lightweight tone, dialogue and handholding. It looks great in many ways, especially the combat. I may well drop the £50 or so at some point - I can always sell it on if it’s not for me.
Hoping to put another couple of hours into Witcher 3. Doing some side quests and monster hunts to escape the Novigrad stuff. Hoping to get to Skellige soon.

Battling through Trials of Mana, P3R, Dearh Stranding, and as usual with Kojima's output it's harder to follow than string theory😁 (but I really like it). A good one to all.
Still enjoying BO6 but actually playing a lot of efootball. Might not be graphically the best football game but am really enjoying it and the online games are more fun than EAFC and better matched.
I’ve not bought EA2025 as have been ill with bi polar since March and skint.

I'm finishing Mass Effect 3 on the Legendary Edition and doing the DLCs for the first time. Loving every second.

Awesome game - one of the best indies I’ve played in recent years. The game makes you feel like you’re highly skilled. One thing I didn’t take from review footage is how easy it is to play: slow fall speed, auto-aim, zero lateral momentum, instant restarts. Each level is a puzzle (to get the ace+gift), so both your reflexes and mind are always engaged - a mark of a great game. The soundtrack is fantastic. Yes the dialogue is overlong and anime-esque but whatever.
Dropped Inscryption after the great first act - the next part is banal, frustrating and overwhelming in ways the first act wasn’t at all.

M&L: Brothership and Halo 2
I've paused Dead Island 2 to finish Somerville and Persona 5 Tactica. So far I've already finished the first and did the 4 different endings. Now I'm playing the latter and I'm really enjoying it.
HZD remaster - such a gorgeous game! So, turns out ng+ on an imported save messes some trophies up so started fresh which was annoying at first but it lets me enjoy it all again so now Im kind of happy about that 🙂 love spending time in this world!
CoD Blops 6 - playing the campaign, which Im enjoying. Best in many years! Doesnt run perfect on the Series S but good enough.
Max Mustard VR - about two thirds in, its not perfect but good fun!
Dont have the balls for the new Metro VR which looks awesome so kind of dissapointed in myself 😅
Dragon Age Veilguard. Only bought/started it this week, and I’ve also never played a DA game before so it’s all new to me. Saying that, I’m really enjoying it so far. I was boring and went for human/warrior 😂 though I can definitely see myself trying out the Rogue/Mage classes at some point.

World of Warcraft (PC) Doing anniversary stuff and working on a few alts.
Stardew Valley (Series X) With the new patch I decided to start a new farm with my son.
Black Ops 6 (Series X) Might jump on for a few rounds of multiplayer with the boys.
On PS5: Horizon FW. Halfway through the game and loving every second.
xCloud: COD BO6. Prolly my favourite COD campaign. Almost done with it, too. While playing I discovered that Dolby Vision+ Atmos is a lot better than HDR+ Tempest 3D (PS5).

Just finished the brilliant Resident Evil 2 remake again. In the mean time I bought a really cool new television which I’m enjoying with some Forza Motorsport at the moment.

Also playing D4 expansion with friends, it's pretty good. I hadn't played since season 1 it's a very different game now.
Microsoft Wordament (Android) - Dailies and Adventure mode.
Wordament Snap Attack (Android) - Done what I can with this now. Time to delete and move on.
Free Slots Fun Factory (Windows Phone) - Also done what I can with this one. One more WP title for the scrap heap!
@Tasuki I got a little more than halfway thru and I enjoyed it enough to keep playing. However, there's one chapter that's "supernatural/hallucinogenic" and I couldn't wait to finish it. Not because it was scary, but because it was just an annoying and frustrating chapter imo. Long story short after spending a good amount of time finishing it, i thought it had saved since I was back at the safe house and it didnt. Somehow it didn't auto save at the very end of that chapter and I would've had to replay the entire thing. No thank you. So I just un-installed and I'm keeping on with halo 2.
I stopped playing Darksiders 2 back in 2018 for a reason that I can't remember... so I started playing it again a few days back and just finished it up. Great game.
I've been playing Cat Quest 2 as well, silly little game that's way more charming than it has any right to be. Typically I'd probably have probably a few more games I'd be tackling at once, but eh. Way more relaxed weekend than normal for me. Cats 'n' the Reaper.
I'm revisiting Hellblade 2 at the moment. Enjoying it a lot. Also some Black Ops 6. And bought Death Stranding, but probably won't get around to it this weekend.
@Sol4ris Delighted everyone can play Death Stranding now, and yes its batsh*t crazy! After a while I gave up trying to understand and just strapped myself in for the ride... 👍
Finished CoD - great campaign marred by a couple of stupid, weird missions that just dragged on. Randomly decided to buy AC Syndicate for another play through. Still looks great and London is amazing but desperately needs a 60fps patch.
DA: The Veilguard has taken over my life since launch. It's so freaking good and I'm struggling to put it down lol!
Metal slug tactics is awesome but sheesh it has some weird bugs. Hoping they get a patch out before it leaves game pass.
Jurassic World Evolution 2, San Albertas...its a lot less headaches, if you research and build the power station, and run a network of power lines 😂. Completely ditch the backup generator, that you have to constantly refill, with a half million dollars of fuel.
I see the backup generators pre-built. I research the power station. Put the telephone pole next to where the backup generator is providing power. Attach the power line, and hit "demolish" on the backup generator 😂.
Watching the Ichthyosaurs and Plesiosaurs swimming around in the lagoon, they did a wonderful job with the animation...

Well here we go with another wild WAYP. Been a stupidly cool week around here. The week was mostly the games I wanted to focus on beating like Zelda, Astro Bot, Trails Through Daybreak, Emio and Metaphor. Most of the weekend was spent with Emio and Astro Bot. Emio continues to be an amazing mystery that has me enthralled. Astro Bot on the other hand I not only beat but got the Platinum Trophy for and absolutely loved it all that is seriously a GOTY. Also dabbled in Life Is Strange Double Exposure and Slitterhead like I wanted and they were both really good LIS being like Emio and having a engaging hook and Slitterhead being a wonderful horror experience just a shame it wasn’t a Halloween pick. Rest of the weekend I’m thinking is gonna be some YS X Nordics I really really liked what I played and wanna get a really solid session of it in to really dig in. Otherwise I’m thinking this week is mostly gonna consist of some Zelda, Trails Through Daybreak, Emio, Dawntrail, Metaphor, BLOPS6, Sonic X Shadow Generations and hopefully dabbling in both Mario and Luigi Brothership and Dragon Age The Veilguard on my day off as yeah I picked them both up and they both look exceedingly amazing. Think I’ll maybe pick up that Metal Slug Tactics too. Also kinda considering looking into a PS5 Pro. And yeah Dawntrail is back on the menu because we got Patch 7.1 Crossroads coming out. The wrestling things this week being the build to Survivor Series WARGAMES just has me so hype currently we just have the Bloodline War but I can’t wait for them to build the rest of the card it’s so hype. Anime of the week gotta go to Oshi No Ko and Dandadan and Dragon Ball Daima and Shangri La Frontier and Yakuza Fiancé and Ron Kaminohashis Forbidden Deductions and Ranma 1/2. Yeah we got all our picks for fall and they re seriously peak picks like go check them out. Podcasts of this week gotta go to Castle Superbeast, Big Think Dimension, Into The Aether, RPGsites Tetracast, Minnmax, Jeff Gerstmann, Kit and Krysta, Last Stand Media, Easy Allies, Second Wind, Nextlander, Cultaholic Wrestling, Weapon Wheel Podcast and Remap Radio. Each Island has about 3 sections. One power station has a set capacity. So my plan is, one power station per section. That allows me to put as many dino pens, operation buildings, shops, restrooms, movie theaters etc per section, without pushing the capacity of the power station.
I gotta go deep into the research tree to get a second ranger jeep. So I'll get around that by building another response center at one of the other new sections. Now I got enough "task slots" to handle the dinosaurs welfare checks, and hurricane damage repairs. Yeah, there's category 5 hurricanes 😂. None of the Dinos come out the broken fences though, to terrorize the guests 😂! They stay in! I guess that says a lot about me keeping their comfort if not at 100%, close to it, LOL!
Sheesh, just had one of this MASSIVE dino disease outbreak 😂! Seemed like the biggest one yet! Its like they throw a cruel game of whack a mole at you 😂! Another one catches the disease...Got two med-vans, go nuts shooting the med darts 😂. Under control...two winged guys need medical care...on to the next part of the island...
Know what, I'm gonna put in that Sonic X Shadow I just bought...need a little break 😂
