Rumours About Halo Veteran's Return To The Series Are Just That

Yesterday, news surfaced about Netflix Games shutting down its Team Blue studio – a development team that was reportedly working on a new 'AAA' project with the help of Halo veteran Joseph Staten.

Following this studio update, there are rumours swirling around the Halo and Xbox community about Staten potentially making a return to Microsoft now that Halo's 343 Industries team has rebranded as Halo Studios.

Although there's already been a lot of speculation, according to Windows Central journalist Jez Corden, that's all it is "right now". He's apparently heard "no evidence" suggesting Staten has made a possible return, so there you go.

"For those asking me, right now (as of right this second) I'm not hearing any evidence to suggest Joe Staten has returned to Xbox or Halo Studio after the closure of the Netflix AAA team, for now."

Some other theories are claiming this development times in with Halo Studios hiring for a new creative director. However, according to some detective work within the Xbox community, applications for this position apparently closed earlier this month.

Again though, it's all just speculation and Joe has already left the Halo, Xbox and Microsoft teams before. Of course, we're sure many Halo diehards would still be up for his return if it was possible, especially after his stay during the development of Halo Infinite was rather short lived.

Would you like to see a veteran like Joe return (again) to the Halo series? Or do you think it's time for Chief to experience a whole new chapter? Let us know in the comments.
